Service was on the slower side and it seemed the kitchen was in the weeds despite not being a packed house. Not sure if it's because of the ingredients but the prices are on the higher side, such as the sausage (essentially a short hotdog) with home fried for $16. Overall a good experience for the convenience of table service otherwise getting food from somewhere like Framboy and making it yourself would be a good equivalent. The consistency is good, but the flavour is bland under the cover of heat. 3) Clarity in their menu has deteriorated slightly. The last few times I've gone in, there's been confusion about portioning and what's what. I'm kind of saddened as I feel like the quality of overall experience is just different. Being a fan of the Bakes by the Lake lunch and treats, I was excited to see they had expanded and were offering more options to the gluten free and vegan community. I was definitely impressed! The menu offers a little bit of everything. My boyfriend, who isn't gluten free tried a gluten free beer and really enjoyed it. We were there around lunch so we opted for sandwiches. Not having to ask if something could be removed or was gluten free was so nice. We swapped half's of sandwiches and loved both. My boyfriend had no idea it was vegan cheese until I told him after he ate his half. He said he would order it again. The Gourmet Grilled Cheese had the upper hand with the black truffle dip that came with it - sooo good. How can you go wrong with black truffle anything?! :) All and all, was a terrific dining experience. We will be back for sure!
