I should have trusted my instincts the moment I walked in. The staff immediately told me that "everything couldn't be tailored," which felt dismissive, but because the shop was close to my home, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second red flag was the way they quoted the price -- as if I couldn't afford the service. I even told them, "If you don't want my business, I can go somewhere else." That should have been my cue to leave.
When I returned to pick up the few items they could tailor, the results were terrible. Every sleeve was short, uneven, and looked like an unsupervised intern had worked on them. For the amount I paid -- over $500, not including the cost of the clothing -- the workmanship was nowhere near acceptable.
The customer service matched the quality of the alterations. I was greeted, but not genuinely helped. For the price I paid, the items should have been on hangers, properly presented, and handled with care.
After trying everything on and seeing the poor quality, I gathered my things to leave. As I walked out, the employee asked if I liked everything. I told her no. She offered to look at the items, but at that point -- after the initial attitude and the irreversible mistakes -- there was nothing to fix. You can't add fabric back once you've cut it off.
In my opinion, they may be skilled with formal gowns, but they are not the place to trust with everyday clothing. The experience, the attitude, and the results were all disappointing. read more
