Lol Her complaint was being charged for an estimate (she wouldn't pay) she admits seeing the sign that says "they charge $25 for estimates". People get estimates for all kinds of reasons (some with no intention on having the work done). It takes time to 'look up' vehicles, and price damages. The other guy Bryant's complaint was he called 2 weeks earlier and because they weren't WAITING with 'bated breath' for his arrival 'HE'S piszed! People are NUTS. Yelp apparently doesn't care who reviews or why! These are top quality guys. (I don't work there, but am applying soon) maybe I get it, maybe not, but either way they should be 5 stars according to all the REAL reviews from the rest of their customers!

1 Star…read more Unfortunately, after using Highway 280 Paint & Body three different times, this will be my last. Our 2022 GMC Yukon was damaged by a deer on June 9. We brought it to Highway 280 Paint & Body in mid-June, and they inspected the vehicle and determined that the damaged door would need to be replaced. After filing the claim with Progressive, we had a three-way phone call with our insurance adjuster and the manager at Highway 280 Paint & Body. During that call, we specifically scheduled a date to drop the Yukon off for repairs. The appointment was made roughly two weeks in advance, giving the shop time to prepare for the vehicle and the repair. We dropped the Yukon off on July 20 as scheduled. When we arrived, the manager acted as though he wasn't expecting the vehicle and said he didn't have the insurance estimate. I pulled it up and sent it to him while standing there. The Yukon then sat at the shop for more than a month. During that time, we received different explanations about what they were waiting on--parts, emblems, insurance approval, and eventually that the door needed to be replaced, even though they were the ones who told us in June that the door needed replacing in the first place. After more than a month, we learned that the vehicle had essentially sat there and wasn't actually being worked on until last week. Even then, the repair was still not completed. My biggest issue isn't simply that the repair took longer than expected. Things happen, parts get delayed, and insurance companies can slow down repairs. My issue is the lack of communication, organization, accountability, and urgency throughout this entire process. We scheduled this repair in advance. They knew what vehicle was coming, knew what the damage was, and knew a door replacement was needed. Meanwhile, our insurance rental coverage was running out while our vehicle sat at their shop. I finally asked them to put our Yukon back together so we could pick it up and take it somewhere else. After being a repeat customer, I hate that this is the experience that caused me to leave a one-star review. But based on the way this repair was handled, I cannot recommend Highway 280 Paint & Body. The entire operation felt extremely disorganized, and the customer service and communication were nowhere near what I would expect from a professional body shop. If you're considering having work done here, I would strongly recommend asking very specific questions about when your vehicle will actually be worked on--not simply when they can accept it and let it sit on their property.

They made it a point to understand what type of speaker upgrade I was looking for and they performed a sound check to identify what was required. I was concerned about taking the dash apart (factory speakers) because of the age of the vehicle. Once they recommended replacement speakers, I let them know that I could schedule an appointment for later to come in for the installation, but they were able to get the speakers and install them while I waited. They were very knowledgeable about the replacement process and the speakers sound great. This was something that I had wanted to do for a very long time and this shop made it happen quickly. Several days later my car wouldn't start and my engine light came on. It turned out to be a key fob battery. When i fi ll up on gas in an area that was potentislly unsafe i had gased up leaving my car running apparently this is whst caused my engine light to come on not to mention a fire hazard. Apparently, static electricity can cause and explosion. In my defense, i am an 80 year old widow living on a pension. In the 40's and 50's not only were there no cell phones, there were no computers. These were divided into those i needed right now, those that coul wait a momth,, and those that could wait longer. They both approached me with respect and kindness which has prompted this review. I have not felt that way since my husband passed. It was quite touching. Now i learned a new woŕd KeyFob. It has a CR 2032 battery. If the battery is dead so is your car. Lesson # 2. Now being 80 at night when i needed gas if i felt frightened, i would lea e the car running while i gassed up. Did you know that would cause the engine light to come on. Lesson #3. Or that you should never have the car running while gasing up because like static Lesson #4 electricity could cause the car to catch on fire or worse.

I brought my 2005 Mercedes here for an oil change based upon a friend's recommendation. They did a…read morefine job, so a few months later when the coolant light was on and the car was in limp mode, I didn't hesitate to call Mike and Mikes to do the job. I got the car towed 30 min from homewood just to use them. I also had purchased brake pads and rotors for the car and placed them in the trunk for them to put on. They originally quoted me an outrageous price to put the brakes on. When I explained that I was providing the parts, and I would just take it elsewhere, they went down (a little). I was mainly focused on diagnosing the reason why the vehicle was in limp mode and finding the coolant leak (I had been topping off the coolant for months). They called me and said the diagnostic was a thermostat housing, and also said I purchased the wrong size front brake pads, and I will have to pay them for the parts for the correct pads. Fine. I did. They said they would return my pads that were the wrong size and place them in the trunk (they didn't give them back and they aren't in the trunk). They then told me the car was in limp mode because there is an alternator problem. We called the shop that had just repaired the alternator a year ago (it was still in the warranty timeframe) together, and decided on a plan that the other shop would come and pick up the alternator and repair it and deliver it back. I received a call after the brakes and thermostat housing was replaced saying they had no room for my car, and that I would have to drive it myself or pay for a tow to the alternator shop. This is wild after I had just paid them $1000 for a thermostat housing and brake and rotor replacement. The alternator shop was in disbelief that Mike and Mike's asked me to do this, and told me specifically not to drive it over 40mph, do not use any electronics (no radio or headlights, no a/c) and keep it slow and steady. This was a long drive at 6am from Pelham to downtown Birmingham on Highway 31 in the RAIN. Once at the alternator shop, they checked the car, and laughed, "that's an old code from when the alternator was originally repaired, your car is fine". It's been month since I've gotten my vehicle back. The coolant reservoir is completely empty and the leak wasn't repaired like I was told. I am SUPER Disappointed with the quality of work (or lack there of). They seem to try to nickel and dime me a lot, and I am not down for that. For a woman, I have a pretty good basic knowledge of vehicles. I have only driven the car 4 times since I got it back. I will be taking my dollars elsewhere.
