Fortunately, the responsible party had insurance through a reputable company. I was sent a link to choose a body shop for repair. After putting in my zip code, multiple places came up. This place had good reviews on Google and Yelp. All my interactions with the employees here were positive and straightforward. I dropped my car off on. Tuesday and picked it up Friday of the same week. My bumper looks great and the color match is perfect. I didn't have to pay since the other party in the accident was at fault. The quote and final bill were very reasonable (less than $1,500).

Homewood auto body does not require an appointment to get an estimate. I was really appreciative of that fact and flexibility. When I arrived a little after four and walked into the office, a friendly man named Hubert greeted me and asked me how he could help me. . He immediately went out and assessed my vehicle and within 10 minutes or so I was on my way with a printed document for the repair estimate. Super convenient. Friendly people. And the parking lot was packed so that tells me a lot about the work they do and the reputation they have. Besides, their wall is full of accolades for who they are as a business!

I was quoted and paid $9,897 in cash under the clear impression that this covered the full job. When I picked up my car, it still had scratches and an entire unfinished patch on the roof. When I brought this up, I was told those areas "were not included in the estimate." This explanation is unacceptable. For nearly $10,000, no customer should walk away with visible, unaddressed damage--especially when I was upfront about wanting the complete body work done. I am hurt and extremely upset and feel as if my money was waisted I had to take another vehicle of mine to classic collision which is were my insurance referred me to 0 issues and they sent me daily updates and pictures of what the were doing so if you would like a better option then Classic Collision is were you should go Although the staff at homewood auto was polite, professionalism goes beyond manners. It means delivering what was promised and standing behind your work. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. I will not return to this business, nor will I recommend them to others. Customers deserve better accountability and integrity than what I experienced. AND AS I STATED IF I ASKED YOU TO DO THE ENTIRE OUTER BODY OF THE CAR AND YOU FAIL TO INCLUDE IT IN THE ORIGINAL ESTAMINET KNOWING THAT I DONT CLEARLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WRITING SHOW POOR PERFORMANCE THAT IS YOU JOB BUT NO WORRIES I TOOK IT TO CLASSIC COLLISION AND THEY ARE CURRENTLY CORRECTING ALL THE INSSUE HERE IS YOUR WARNING DO NOT GO HER EVER!!! Where do I start? This happened about a month ago. I chose this place through Metlife only because…read moreit was close to home and I had never been in this sort of situation before. Obviously, I wrecked my truck- a 2016 Ram 1500. After about 3 weeks, I was finally able to pick it up. When I picked it up, one of their young employees left a can of dip spit in the cup holder- dip spit was everywhere (should have been my first indication). Truck was put back together shoddily...missing trim pieces, bed was crooked, bumpers were crooked. Front headlight was barely hanging on, multiple gaps and paint issues. Apparently, a small animal had made it's way under the hood while it sat in their lot- chewed up the battery cover- when I asked them about it, they tried to say it was like that when they got it. Terrible job all around! Replaced the rear axle as part of the repair. Someone forgot to put gear oil in the replacement and the axle burned up while i was driving on the interstate- after putting less than 30 miles on the truck. I called the owner that morning and he ended up laughing about it and said he would chalk it up to a bad axle). Insurance company was obviously angry and made them tow it to their shop and provide a rental car (which they didn't want to do). After waiting 3 days, they did end up fixing all of my issues including replacing the rear axle again- this time filling it with oil. Why did they not do a good job the first time around? After picking up the truck the 2nd time, I've since noticed that trim pieces were put on incorrectly, There's screws missing in various places as well as the usage of incorrect screws, and they apparently love to use seam sealer on everything! "Plastic trim broken? Just glue it on with a ton of seam sealer!" I'm disgusted with their quality of work and I hate that I have to return the truck to them for any future warranty issues, per Metlife. I prefer now to either fix any problems myself or pay someone else to fix them. To sum it up, the paint and body portion is OK (as long as they do it right the first time), but they are absolutely HORRIBLE at putting a vehicle back together correctly. I'm going to assume that it's due to young, unqualified and inexperienced employees. I DO NOT recommend them.

They did a…read morefine job, so a few months later when the coolant light was on and the car was in limp mode, I didn't hesitate to call Mike and Mikes to do the job. I got the car towed 30 min from homewood just to use them. I also had purchased brake pads and rotors for the car and placed them in the trunk for them to put on. They originally quoted me an outrageous price to put the brakes on. When I explained that I was providing the parts, and I would just take it elsewhere, they went down (a little). I was mainly focused on diagnosing the reason why the vehicle was in limp mode and finding the coolant leak (I had been topping off the coolant for months). They called me and said the diagnostic was a thermostat housing, and also said I purchased the wrong size front brake pads, and I will have to pay them for the parts for the correct pads. Fine. I did. They said they would return my pads that were the wrong size and place them in the trunk (they didn't give them back and they aren't in the trunk). They then told me the car was in limp mode because there is an alternator problem. We called the shop that had just repaired the alternator a year ago (it was still in the warranty timeframe) together, and decided on a plan that the other shop would come and pick up the alternator and repair it and deliver it back. I received a call after the brakes and thermostat housing was replaced saying they had no room for my car, and that I would have to drive it myself or pay for a tow to the alternator shop. This is wild after I had just paid them $1000 for a thermostat housing and brake and rotor replacement. The alternator shop was in disbelief that Mike and Mike's asked me to do this, and told me specifically not to drive it over 40mph, do not use any electronics (no radio or headlights, no a/c) and keep it slow and steady. This was a long drive at 6am from Pelham to downtown Birmingham on Highway 31 in the RAIN. Once at the alternator shop, they checked the car, and laughed, "that's an old code from when the alternator was originally repaired, your car is fine". It's been month since I've gotten my vehicle back. The coolant reservoir is completely empty and the leak wasn't repaired like I was told. I am SUPER Disappointed with the quality of work (or lack there of). They seem to try to nickel and dime me a lot, and I am not down for that. For a woman, I have a pretty good basic knowledge of vehicles. I have only driven the car 4 times since I got it back. I will be taking my dollars elsewhere.
