I have gone back and forth about writing a review here but after giving it much thought, have decided that letting others know about my experience is ultimately a good thing. Two years ago, I purchased a Groupon for Tumescent Liposuction on two areas at Aesthetic Rejuvenation by Dr. Brecht for my upper arms. I want to preface this review with the fact that Dr. Brecht did say at my consultation that a lot of the "fat" on my upper arms was actually just loose skin and indicated that I may need something more like an arm lift, where the hanging skin is removed. All of my pre-op appointments with Dr. Brecht and her team were fine. I found them to be accommodating and more than willing to answer any of my questions. The ambiance of the office is quite relaxing too. My surgery was on November 5, 2015. I began to notice that something was wrong a few days after my surgery. For some reason, my left arm was tremendously more painful than my right and the two of them even looked different. My left arm looked as though there were stitches right above my armpit. There was dried blood. I truly, truly felt as though something had gone wrong with my left arm (and I still feel that way).  Worried, I called the office a few weeks later and Dr. Brecht called me back personally. She indicated that there were no stitches and that it was normal for one side of the body to heal better than the other, that since I am left handed that may be why that side is hurting more than the other, that you cannot begin to see your final results until at least 3 months into the healing process. She said that nothing had gone wrong during the procedure. At my first post-op appointment on November 21, 2015, I mentioned to Dr. Brecht again that my left arm looked considerably different than my right. Again, she said that it is normal for the arm to look like that and that I shouldn't worry until 3 months post-op. At my second post-op appointment on January 9, 2016, I mentioned the issue with my arm again to Dr. Brecht. We were just over the 3-month mark and I was still concerned. Her answer was that I shouldn't be concerned until 3 months post-op. I was a little concerned that she said that, as 1) we were past the 3-month mark, and 2) how did she not know that? When I told her we were past that mark, she opened my chart, was quiet for a minute, looked up and said it was 6 months that I should wait. So. Here I am. Two years later. Still concerned. Still wishing I knew what went wrong with my left arm that day. As Dr. Brecht had mentioned, the procedure did not remove the loose skin and I am okay with that. Despite the bit of loose skin, I am very pleased with the results of my right arm. However, running my hand over my left forearm, you can feel actual indents, as though some of the muscle was sucked out somehow. You can see these indentations if you look at my arm. There is a deep line down my arm, as though I was cut and it is scarred. The color of my skin on my left arm is even weird.  I lost faith in Dr. Brecht the day she told me at my 3-month appointment that it was normal for my arm to look like that until 3 months post-op. I did not go back. I would not recommend others for this type of procedure. Her unwillingness to recognize that something looked off on my left arm shows that she does not truly care about her patients. ‌ read more

Surgery date: July 2nd, 2020 So the world started falling apart around us, and I had this "a-ha!" Moment where I decided I was finally going to get a breast augmentation. I'm 25 for some background- and had my first child at 19. Breastfeeding in combo with my fluctuating weight really did a number on my breasts- something that made me self conscious for years. One thing you've got to know is that the breast augs aren't performed with general anesthesia and in a lot of ways it is better that way. Dr. B used a numbing "breast block" in combination with some medication for pain/relaxation (I don't remember what they were but I had already showed up dosed up, that by the time I arrived to my surgery day, I felt like I was walking on clouds lol) so the other meds were for further relaxation and rightfully so. Even though I couldn't feel pain, only pressure from the implants, I got a little squirmy. I've seen reviews about people complaining about getting cuffed to the bed by their wrists, but as it is an AWAKE procedure, it's for everyone's best interests. I was, during the operation, consumed with emotion, but was comforted and told that I'm looking great and I'm in good hands. My emotions were both fear that I wouldn't look good and happiness that I just might! I put all my trust into my doc! Dr. Brecht even had no qualms about exchanging my previously decided 650 cc implants for 600 cc, and I'm so glad she could accommodate that because anything bigger than what I have now would be a little too big. This is perfect. Per the doctor's orders, I wear my compression bra alllllllll the time, eat a well balanced diet high in protein, and work out lightly without bouncing or lifting anything over my head. Ellipticals are your friend! The follow up appointments were so nice. I almost didn't make it to my first one the day after because I was so sore but my awesome boyfriend got me there and took it really slow. The staff at aesthetic rejuvenation understood whole heartedly and urged me to come in but to take my time as to not hurt myself! I don't look back on my surgery and think "wow that was almost a week of pain" because it was a week of me being cared for and pushed for the end result. Something I'm used to as an athlete. I want Dr. Brecht and the whole staff to know that I'm healing so well and feel like a million bucks. It'll only get better with time! One thing I would let a first time breast aug patient know is that in order to look like that girl you see on instagram or come even close to it, you've gotta go through some ugly stuff. I was wheeled out to my boyfriend after surgery and he looked terrified!!! He said I looked like I had "really been through it" but that's what any invasive cosmetic surgery will do. The pain was so bad for me, but I think it was worse for me than for others because I live a very active lifestyle in combination with weight training and my chest muscles that the implants were placed under I know for a fact were really tight! I came prepared to surgery day with all of my pain killers, anti-anxiey meds, antibiotics, etc that the doctor prescribed so I was all set to be dosed up for a week! It's all worth it I promise! If you can suck it up to being awake for something like this, it's pretty exciting. I also wanna mention that I appreciate an all female staff! I felt 10x more comfortable without a man telling me what would look best on me, which had happened at other consultations. Dr. Brecht let ME decide and I have zero regrets, only happiness! She's been available round the clock via Gmail for all of my questions and concerns and her staff are very personable as well. I paid for Breast augmentation and liposuction of 6 areas with an agreed 2.5 liters of fat to be removed. I was initially told there would be an anesthesiologist and I would be awake for the procedure; however when I arrived there wasn't an anesthesiologist . I was just given a hand of pills to take by a "Nurse". I was given so many pills I vomited. I experienced massive cramping and knots in my stomach after taking the pills and "Dr".Brecht said it was normal and I would be fine. I was given even more pills after being strapped to the operating bed. I said I didn't want to continue with the procedure and was told I had already been prepared and would be having the surgery. I have no memory of what happened after that because I passed out. My incision sites were left opened and uncovered and as soon as I saw my breast I noticed there were problems. Of course, DR. Brecht said everything was perfect. I called her a number of times about the complications ( Pain, bleeding and bruising of the breast and difficulty breathing) I was experiencing and she continued to minimize saying " the first week is the hardest just stay with the course". I was rushed to ER with a life-threatening condition resulting from the surgery and what I believe to be a very low standard of care during the procedure. I suffered multiple blood clots in my lungs and legs, heamatoma in the breast, infection, nerve damage and acute anemia. The doctors said if I had ignored my symptoms I would have died!! I was admited to the hospital after being treated in the ER. She refuses to listen to concerns and even told me I went to the ER instead of her office because the ER was closer! She insisted I did not have a hematoma, even after I'd been diagnosed by two different board-certified PS, one of which was scheduled to remove it when I was admitted to the hospital. I believed her because she said the CT scan only showed the pain medication she used and this accounted for the fluid and I just needed time to heal. 5 months later I have capsular contracture, which I am told resulted from an untreated hematoma or infection. Having my procedure done here is one of the biggest mistakes I've made in life and it nearly costs me my life! Not to mention the need for revision of everything she has done. The cost of which exceeds $10,00.00 - I can not describe the trauma, emotional distress and anxiety I experienced and still experience as a result of going to her practice and dealing with her dishonesty and unethical practice. She also agreed to redo the surgeries, then canceled my appointment and refused after I gave her service a very deserving poor rating. I went in for a little shaping help to accentuate the weight loss that I'd managed to achieve and was really happy with the results. The process itself was reasonably clear and easy, although there were a few times that the front office and the back office seemed to have different ideas about how long appointments took, how early I needed to come in and such. The doctor and her staff were excellent, clarifying what I could expect and how to best prepare and recover from the procedure. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for more services. I wish I could give a 0 rating. I had liposuction with Dr Brecht. Or I should say I paid for liposuction. My area of concern was not worked on instead my rib area was left dimpled and hard. My outter thighs are numb and my inner thighs are hard and look mottled. I get tingly sensations in my thighs. My love handles were not touched. I was given quite a few pills and I remember coming to during surgery and I was restrained to the bed. Her "nurses" blamed me and my shapewear I was told to buy was to blame for my poor results. The HYDRO-FACIAL is so nice I didn't expect tons, just a facial. But this made me feel incredible! Two days after the facial I felt like my skin was brand new! I had breast augmentation done October of 2016 so it's been a little over a year now and I can't be more pleased with the results. They look perfect! Dr Brecht has been amazing. My first Free consult was warming and I felt very comfortable with Dr Brecht and her judgement . I did 5 areas of my tummy to reach my desired look . She got me into the operating room within a few days of my first meeting. I followed the preop step by step . You aren't fully put under for the procedure but the pain meds and sleeping pills knock you out. I literally don't remember much for the next couple days . I had some bruising and a lot of tenderness and swelling after the procedure. It also felt like numb for about a week which was scary but I called her after hours and she answered and promised me that was all normal and the feeling will come back. Most people return to normal activity within 3 days , but my body did not agree, I was in pain for a good week and couldn't do much for about 3 weeks .Everyone's body and recovery is going to be different . She removed nearly 3 LITERS of fat from my stomach and all the swelling and sensation are all back to normal now. I highly recommend her , I'm also going back todo my upper arms, inner thighs and hips. She is reasonably priced and found a Groupon for 5 areas for $5k or 2 areas for $1999. I am a 30 year old mom of two school-age kids. I got lipo on my flanks and lower back with fat transfer to my butt with Dr. Brecht. Procedure was on May 17th. I'm only 3.5 weeks post-op, and I have already gotten numerous compliments on my figure. I am so so so happy with the results. She did a GREAT job contouring and made my stomach feel proportionate. I was able to wear a bikini that went high enough to cover the bruising, and there's only 4 small incisions that are healing well. This was very affordable. Best money I have spent on myself! Beware: I was EXTREMELY loopy for 4 days afterward from the medication. (I didn't take any of the pain meds after 1 day post-op... so all of the loopy-ness came from the procedure). I actually don't even remember most of those days. Be prepared to take time off work completely. I normally work from home, and there was no way I could do anything. Make sure to have someone with you to help you with draining and administering medication. Also, I would recommend getting a couple different kinds of abdominal wraps well ahead of time so you can figure out what will be most comfortable, and you will need to switch them out for cleaning... plus the wraps end up wearing out pretty quickly. Went in for liposuction (arms, back, love handles) and fat transfer (breasts) in 2014 (asked to have my pictures removed for private reasons, thank you for taking those down and keeping them private) Results (waited years, so I can have a true review about results - this is just about results and not about fluff or conversations etc) and please read them all because some areas were great and some not as much. I asked for the Groupon rate and ended up adding more on last minute because of the discount. - Upper Arm Lipo - this was my main goal at first, my results were slightly "botched" and I still have lengthy internal scars (from the Lipo needle) and weird bumps (fat that wasn't suctioned). The healing process with compression garments was pretty sucky to say the least (the compression really makes my lower arms swell and cuts off circulation, so be prepared) but I kept at it and I tried to massage the scars out but I still have pretty big bubbles left in the uppermost area near my armpits (it looks like the fat wasn't taken from there so it's just a bubble of fat) - my arms were quite large to begin with so I am grateful that they are smaller, that is the honest truth. I can finally fit into my size clothing (proportionate hour glass figure with disproportionately large arms). Lots of long term bruising. The results don't necessary mean it was the Dr's fault or anyone's, but if you have upper arm Lipo done I recommend more research, and if you start with especially larger arms ask about the uppermost area near the armpit (back of the arms) because I'm not the first to have this issue (with any doctor, I've known people who have done different doctors and had these same scarring issues, the missed fat was the bigger problem for me). - Fat Transfer to Breasts - amazing job! I am so grateful to this day, I went from an almost full C to DD and they are still perky and full after over 4 years. I recommend proper garments to make sure the fat doesn't create a bit of a side boob though. I went into this knowing what to expect (that only a percentage of the fat would stay and then would act like the fat from where it came from - so I chose areas of my body where the fat never really seemed to shrink even with weight loss, that way my boobs would stay larger even with weight loss). I also had her put slightly more in one boob that was slightly smaller so now they are perfectly even yay. - Love Handle Lipo - so glad I decided to add this last minute because I never realized how different clothes would fit without love handles. She did a great job! Incisions are small, I recommend following the "stay away from tanning while scars heal" otherwise they will get darker and therefore more noticeable. - Back Lipo - this was a weird one, they did an excellent job but be prepared for possible long term numbness. Mine was numb on my back in random spots and the back of my arms for many months. The sculpting of getting the back fat was great though. I didn't want back fat rolls in a dress and this slimmed out my back very very nicely. Every body is different this way, trust the healing process and ask a LOT of questions, do a lot of research up front, and make sure to have compression garments ready post-op. I wish I had known someone who has this done before because it felt like each day I was wondering "is this normal?" So keep an open line of communication with your Dr or find a friend who has had work done and get their input. Also I recommend looking into a prescription for a nerve blocker during recovery, such a gabapentin to help with how full body sore you may be. read more

I have been to see Dr. Brecht twice now for everything from my knees up. I am thrilled with the results. Her staff is amazing. You feel at ease always a pleasure to see them. I recently got a face lift,Upper eye lift and inner thighs. Prior to that I had a tummy tuck (fabulous) and fat transfer to my butt (awesome I finally have a butt). She listened to my concerns, answered my questions and spent time with me allowing me to feel comfortable and cared for. I loved every bit of my experience with Dr. Brecht and her team from beginning to end. I have had consultations with 6 other clinics that do liposuction and am so glad I chose Dr. Brecht. Dr. Brecht is not board certified. I did not properly understand the importance of this when I decided to let her perform liposuction on me in 2015. She didn't have a whole lot of Yelp reviews when I visited her, and now I am sad to see that I am simply one of many patients she has botched without a care in the world. During my surgery, I received liposuction to my lower abdomen and flanks. After receiving a handful of pills, I took them and was awake for parts of the surgery (although my memory is extremely cloudy and I'm sure I was knocked out at times). I threw up on the way home and for hours afterward. I was left with a lot of lumps and unevenness. I talked to Dr. Brecht about it within the six-month period right after the surgery, and she told me not to worry about it unless a year had passed. Well, the lumps were still there in a year. When I moved back to the area in 2018, I made an appointment to speak with Dr. Brecht again. At this point, my abdomen and flanks were discolored and lumpy. When I spoke to her, I received no support or condolence at all. I couldn't believe her level of dullness and insensitivity. She told me that it was just "shadows" and "lighting" that was making it look so bad. She asked if I had gained weight, which I had: six whole pounds. She told me that the weight gain was to be blamed and I should have known that liposuction patients can't afford to gain any weight after the procedure, whether it be weeks or years after. She offered to perform liposuction on the rest of my stomach so that it all looks the same. I politely declined her offer since I don't want my entire stomach to be disfigured. The whole meeting sounded like she had been through it before and I left knowing that I wasted my time. I have seen two board-certified plastic surgeons since, who have expressed their sympathy. One of the surgeons I spoke with has seen "several" of Dr. Brecht's botched patients and is unwilling to work on my abdomen because she thinks she would not be able to even it out enough for it to be worth my money. She also confirmed that just because a liposuction patient gains six pounds (or even twenty, she said) does not ever mean that the affected area will suddenly become lumpy to the touch. The other surgeon is willing to perform a revision, but warned that there is a chance that going into such a mangled job could make it worse and I would have to decide if it's worth it to me. He told me that it appears I was left with fibrosis from a sloppy surgeon and that it could have easily been prevented had she taken the time to do it correctly. My guess is that she is uneducated as well as careless. Please do not give this woman your money and allow her to work on your body. She is ruthless and you will regret it. I can only hope that she receives her karma in this lifetime for what she is doing to her patients. read more

We had a great experience with awake tummy tuck/lipo with Dr. Brecht. She and her staff are unfailingly helpful and kind, she was terrific with answering questions (including on her off days via email), and made my husband and I feel very welcome and comfortable. I'm six weeks out from surgery and so far am thrilled with the results. The incision is very straight and clean and everything is healing nicely. I'm still discovering new feelings about my body and my life since having the surgery, it's been an amazing journey. I would highly recommend Dr. Brecht and her staff to anyone. read more

While quite kind, Dr. Brecht is not a cosmetic surgeon. She did a terrible liposuction job that resulted in my arms being severely deformed. After consulting with 3 different board certified cosmetic surgeons, the only option to showing my arms ever again was to spend 8 grand on fat transfers. If you are going to get a plastic surgery procedure, go to a plastic surgeon. Lesson learned after thousands of dollars, ruined self esteem, and more surgery. The scariest part was that she never once took responsibility and kept saying that everything was fine despite multiple plastic surgeons agreeing that she did an extremely poor job. read more

Three years ago, my arms and chin were left deformed from the crappy service here. Now that I know my review is gone, I'll be back on here soon to post pics of my results. There is no anesthesia here either, she drugs her patients with 20mg of Vicodin and 3 Ambien and some other crap tramadol, or however you spell it, to almost knock you out. She violates the HIPPA law and will discuss your file and personal information with other patients. I should have known at the consultation when she appeared drugged up and as if she had been preforming surgery on herself. BEWARE!! Sono bello was SHOCKED when I showed them what she had done and said they could TRY and fix it, but most likely couldn't...she needs to be shut down. Period. I just read Keven's review below and not surprised. So sorry you went through that. I too was drugged up and the next 3 days were a complete blur. I wish I had someone take me to the ER. Do not waste your money on liposuction or fat transfers with Dr.Brecht. My results were very embarressing. Her prices are cheap for a reason and you'll end up spending more to have a real surgeon fix her work. This doctor gives her patients pain pills and sleeping pills for a 2 hour procedure instead of anesthesia. You'll leave this office drugged up from a sleeping pill. I had liposuction surgery in May 2017 with Dr Brecht. I initially went to get my abdominal area done. She talked me into adding on my flanks. She told me that would give me a nice shape and define my waist. Well she never did the flanks but i was charged for it. Now my stomach is flatter and my flank area/muffin top is protruding more than before and I also have deep uneven grooves on each side in front of my hip bones that she caused. I initially confronted her on the first post op day she denied it but it was obvious because of the medication that was injected into my abdomen which made it hard had not been done to the flanks. I continued to confront her several other times asking for my money back or for her to do what I paid for. At first she keot telling me to wear heavier compression binders and it would improve. Well no amount of compression will take away fat. As far as the deep grooves. She tried covering it up and said that its natural. Everyone has that. No they dont. OMG! Recently i confronted her again, so tired of the muffin top that i paid to be removed, and the deep grooves look bizarre She had her assistant weigh me trying to say it was my fault that i had gained weight. Well i didn't. Then she attacked the scale trying to show inaccuracie. Then she said that she would only do it if i bought more areas wanting my back to be done. I dont need my back done i need my flanks that i paid for done and the deep grooves fixed. Then i discussed where flanks are and had pictures of the flank liposuction area. She argued and had no clue what the flank area was. She was trying to call flanks my back. I tefused to buy more areas. She refused to do the surgery that i paid her for. She told me that i was naking her angry. I informed her that i will be seaking an attorney. Im also going to report this to the Better Business Bureau. My appointment was on Saturday at 1pm. I drove 45 minutes just to make it to this appointment,got there exactly on time for a free consultation with Dr. Brecht. I sat in the waiting room with three children till 1:45 and finally ask the receptionist, I been waiting for almost an hr! She's like we're running behind. The 3 receptionist very unprofessional.
