What an absolute nightmare of a company to deal with. It's all great and happy if you're willing to commit insurance fraud. If you're not, expect lack of communication, any communication is a "miscommunication", and expect a hefty bill with "creative invoicing". I'm all about saving a buck but at the cost of MY premiums & integrity, no thanks. $300 for some friend plumber to create a fake report to send to insurances. INSANE. Never mind the absolute lack of care for your items when they pack them up. I had my succulent plants thrown in with all my jewelry & bathroom items. Absolutely could've and would've love to pack them up myself and put my plants outside if they listened to our request to not start on Friday and to reschedule to Monday. My partner & I were at work as their team entered my home by telling our roommate they were supposed to be there. Ask for an itemized invoice? Crickets. Try to talk about issues? Deflected to the other 3rd company parties they work with while in your house. I asked over and over for an invoice, gave my email multiple times, nothing. Just to get called 4 days before they decided to consider me late by their AR department. 17,000 in 4 days?! (Master bed) Luckily, Zach (their AR team member) was easy to work with and I was able to have an extra week to pull funds. There are so many more details - I will gladly post our text messages and videos (I have cameras in/out). ** Look at EVERYTHING they make you sign, when they hand you an iPad with only a signature window up & they say oh, that's just x document, ask to see that document first. Absolutely not, especially when they told me it would be around $8,000 if I paid myself and not go through insurance. Literally a scam!! I have no idea how these guys are still in business and I will be reporting them to the BBB with proof of misconduct. It started when I felt tile lifting up in our bathroom and was worried about water damage/mold. Sales rep Darien came over to look at it and pushed HARD for us to have this go through insurance. "Trust me, trust me... you'll only pay your deductible and insurance will cover the rest. 99% this will be covered!" Well fast forward after we were told several times to lie to insurance about the source of the issue, insurance refused to pay. They hung up on Restorerz several times and told us what they were asking for was insane and completely made up. Restorerz inflated their costs significantly (we reached out to several companies for estimates on what the project should cost and it was 1/4 of the price they were asking insurance to pay) and then lied and asked us to lie to insurance on the root cause!!! They provided unnecessary services that were never agreed upon. After several weeks of insurance not even picking up Restorerz phone call and telling us this company is a scam and they've dealt with them several times.... WE got stuck with the bill and were given one week to pay!!! I Went back to Darien who told me this NEVER happens and there's nothing he can do. Wellll funny enough, after my experience I have talked to at least 4 other people who have had the same scenario happen to them. DONT TRUST THEIR POSITIVE REVIEWS!!! It started with a Water Leak on Labor Day Weekend, we contacted a 24/7 Plumber Immediately, AAA Paradise Plumbing & Rooter, who came and stopped the on going flow of water into our Dining Room. He then referred us to a Water Damage Mitigation Company whom he highly recommended-Restorerz Emergency Services. A Representative, Simon K, came to our Home to take pictures and asess Water Damage. He made many promises, stating that he works with Insurance Companies all the time, and that he will handle it so that we will not have to pay anything out of pocket except for our Deuctible. He stated that "he would be there every step of the way to asure everything is done correctly and that the Insurance Company will pay for everything". He promised that "he would work with us and the Insurance Company until completion, because he wouldn't get paid unless we got paid by the Insurance". It was a Desperate situation so we foolishly signed the Contract. We repeatedly expressed that "we do not have the money for this, we just moved in and are tight on Funds". To which Simon replied over and over again "TRUST ME, TRUST ME, YOU'LL PAY NOTHING OUT OF POCKET EXCEPT YOUR DEDUCTIBLE". Soon after the work was done, we received an email with the Invoice for $34, 229.93, Demanding Full Payment within 30 Days. We then received a Call from Restorerz Claims Manager, Evangelina, who proceeded to tell us that "she will work with us and the Insurance Company, to Negotiate and get the Invoice Paid". They submitted the Claim, the Insurance Company Denied it, calling it Excessive. The Insurance Comapny agreed to pay ONLY $8,871.77, leaving us to Pay the Balance nearly $20,000.00! After that, Restorerz said "they tried, nothing else we can do, we need to pay the balance in Full," leaving us only a week to get it paid. We requested more time to resolve this, which they denied. Warning us of the Collection Process, Filing Liens, etc. This left us no choice but to pay. We spoke with a Lawyer, who gave us a better insight into this Industry and Process. We were informed that "it was wrong for Restorerz to demand payment that way". He further stated that "there was no reason that they couldn't wait for payment". So when Restorerz says "Trust Me, Trust Me"- DO NOT!!!!!!! *UPDATE* Update: They contacted us to make everything right (full reimbursement) to remove this negative review but once we refused to sign another contract with them we were dropped from all communication. Considering nobody likes to have remediation done, with Restorerz it doesn't get any better. My experience began with Simon K., the project manager for my job. Simon took his time explaining the process - which was new to me. I was quoted a price which would be the most I would have to pay - with the possibility of a rebate should the job turn out to be less than anticipated. However, while I wasn't counting on getting any money back, I was somewhat comforted that I wouldn't face a bigger bill at the end of the process. Simon's crew went right to work -- and they were great. Demolishing and carting off and disposing of water damaged debris, helping box and move things, providing wardrobe containers. Again, all included and done professionally and respectfully. And really nice guys. Tests were done, asbestos, etc. - all arranged and included in the original estimate. Again, no surprises. Simon came back to check on things, and was only a text/phone call away - and was always pleasant. A network of dehumidifiers, fans, heaters, and high-end equipment were installed where necessary - which ran 24/7. The house was then regularly checked for moisture, and when it was determined that it was safe to move back into those areas, the equipment was carefully and promptly removed. One more thing I really appreciated. Other companies border on promising that they will get your insurance company to pick up the tab and then you're surprised and angry to find out that you're not covered. Check your insurance policy and see what it really covers. Oh, and when it was time to settle up, my contract had been reevaluated and I discovered I was given a sizable rebate. read more

Please read the 1* and 2* reviews as sadly, these are most in line with our final experience. We had a burst-pipe emergency and (as in other reviews) it was the plumber who recommended Restorerz to us as "a company who gets the work done well the first time". Initially we were pleased with them as on arrival the project leader sounded competent, said to leave it all to them, they knew how the insurance companies work and what to say to them, and they would make it all good for us. They were a little pushy, but it's such a relief to hear reassuring words like that in the Los Angeles area, where so many companies are scamming their clients. Things went smoothly during the demo and drying phase - we had at least 10 fans blowing for 7 days to dry out our shower pipe leak that came through the light wells below. A wall was removed, cupboards were removed. It was efficient, apart from the fact that the guys walked off with 2 of our recycle/shredder bins that they had used to collect the moisture and I was never able to get anyone to address that issue. The real problem arose when the insurance company stated that the work completed had been excessive and/or unnecessary - including a $900 lead test - and that Restorerz were basically price-gauging and unethical people. The insurance would NOT budge below a certain price on the payment amount that Restorez was charging - their ask was almost 50% higher than evaluated by the assessor. So guess who Restorerz came after? - the client. Immediately Restorerz became belligerent with us, threatening to put a lien on our home if we didn't pay the difference within a couple of days - all before we had even had any chance to negotiate with them ourselves! Basically they became bullies, which is also what other reviewers have said. We had to retain a lawyer to handle their unreasonable attitude and to do mitigation for us. Restorerz were not flexible during negotiations and basically remained bull-nosed. This seems to be their m.o. and it is something that any client needs to be aware of before employing their services - especially if you can't afford to pay a lawyer to help you sort out the situation. read more

Listen I can't speak for everyone - but man was my claim process with my insurance carrier nothing but horrific. This experience has left me broken to say the least. Please make sure to get the best possible insurance for your home otherwise beware of the runarounds and delays with the claims process. If you need some guidance on obtaining insurance Restorerz may be able to offer some advice. That being said, the emergency services provided by them were in fact treated as such. Within a couple hours of my call with Restorerz, any further damages that could have occurred were stopped with the services performed. Now back to the insurance and the runarounds ... Well, long story short, Restorerz was beyond patient with my insurance claim and worked alongside me throughout the whole process. From the emergency services to correspondence with my claim adjuster, they were consistent and poised. Restorerz is a professional company that understands the process and knows the business. I would encourage others to use this company, but if you are NOT in the Van Nuys area, I would suggest finding another company. We were charged for 9 hours of work when the set up, monitoring, and take down of the dehumidifiers and air scrubbers was only 2.5 hours of work. When I questioned the charge, we were told that Restorerz charges for travel time from their Van Nuys office to our home and then back to their facility. Had water damage and Restorerz sent Javier to help. He assisted in the process of explaining what would happen with the water mitigation. He and his crew were very professional. Almost Ripped Off A representative came to assess a leak situation in my bathroom on 9/9/23. He quickly determined that the leak was a long-term issue and that my insurance would likely not cover it. He immediately went on to tell me how he could make it look like a pipe burst and how to keep my insurance company in the dark about it so that my insurance might pay some of it - he was advising me to commit insurance fraud. This representative told me that the estimate was $20,000, but that if my insurance covered any part of it at all, then there would be a safety net price of "just" $10,000. This quote was just for the demolition and did not include any rebuild of the bathroom. I did not choose Restorerz to demo and rebuild my bathroom, and I do not recommend them. They gave me a gross overestimate for the work and encouraged me to commit a crime. I was referred to them by a NexGen plumber, so I'm pretty sure there was a hefty referral fee I was about to incur as a part of that exorbitant quote. Crooks. I do not recommend them. read more

Restorerz was incredible to work with, in what was one of the most stressful times of our lives. Our first floor flooded at 1am during a rainstorm, and Restorerz arrived for an assessment within one hour of us calling them. They then came back an hour later at 4am with equipment to help with initially drying out the house. After 3 days, they ran tests and took readings, eventually leading to us needing to remove nearly all of the affected floors (including engineered wood and ceramic tile floors). They packed out all of our furniture and stored it in a vault, without us even needing to be around. They carefully sealed off the construction area of the home, being particularly careful with our foyer's chandelier, then spent days removing the floors and readying them for another vendor to install our new floors. Chris was our first point of contact, and he was responsive, calm, informative, and reliable. He was super knowledgeable about the process and what to expect, even before they had official readings. Eduardo, Christobal and Javier were there throughout the process helping out, and each of them were courteous, responsive and efficient. We were already in an unrelated process of remodeling the exterior of our house, and they handled that inconvenience of having to deal with scaffolding and other work crews on the property with ease. We dealt with Angela over the phone to help with scheduling and billing questions, and she was fantastic and efficient as well. As we weren't always at the house during their work, there may have been other employees who helped save our house. Grateful to all of them.
