This place has taken quite a fall from the standard that I was used to. From a cute and charming…read moreretreat of tranquility, to a pump and dump business with no consideration for the client. We had a float appointment that was from 8-9pm. We were taken to our room and dropped off, with no relative instructions. This was fine, as we know the drill. Shower, get in, relax, music will fade away, then music will come on when the float is over, lights with follow after. During our float there were constant interruptions of loud sounds. Whether it was people cleaning or moving equipment, loud commotions in the hallways. Seemingly every few minutes there was a new distraction interrupting our peace. In a place that is supposed to be about tranquility and mindfulness it felt very much like no one cared about such goals. During our float the water jets turned on, thus creating even more distractions and in comfortability. Well before this time my wife had just been sitting up hoping for the experience to be over, as it was impossible to relax under the conditions. We both had been thinking "the time has to be up" but neither wanted to interrupt the other's possible rest. We finally hear 3 loud bangs on our door, and call out to see who it was... no response. We immediately get out of the float... check our phones, it's 9:50!! Yes, almost 1 hour AFTER our appointment was set to end. In an essential bathtub, with no clocks, no phone, complete darkness, and no concept of time... why are we FINALLY getting summoned? We rush to shower and get out - both of us telling each other how awful the experience was. As my wife went to the restroom I went to the "quiet area" where usually you can get refreshments and come back to. I was "greeted" by a staff member who simply said, "I'll be in here if you need anything" and that was it. No inquiry on how the experience was, no friendly welcoming back to the outside world. Just a cold response from a seemingly bothered employee. I told said employee no music, lights, or anything came on to wake us and why that would happen? They simply said "it should have" When I asked about a refund; said employee said they can't do anything and I asked who I could speak with. They said their boss couldn't be contacted because "they're asleep because they have kids." As parents I don't understand this response, and almost an insult. This employee made us feel as if we were an issue. I offered to pay for the massage chairs since they were up to standards, but not the floats since essentially we were "held" in there almost an hour late with constant loud noises interrupting us. I've sent a FaceBook message to the company, as well as multiple emails to the supplied correspondence for "management" this will be two weeks from the experience and not one iota of response. I've called the location and asked for management and have been told they'll "write a note for management" We've spent money there many times, sent friends and family to this company, all to be disrespected and ignored. I will not be back to this establishment as it's no longer the considerate thoughtful business I once knew. It's a money grab with no possible way to have issues or poor experiences heard or rectified. The lack of response of management tells me they're happy with any experience a client has as long as they have you money, and don't have any desire to be accountable for their staff's mistakes. I'm writing this review after letting them know I'm writing it, so it won't be a surprise. If they're willing to respond to this, which I doubt, it will only prove that they care more about public optics than actual care for their customers. I hope this review reaches many as an authentic representation of my experience, and when it's read elicits even more scathing reactions than I'm capable of producing.

Great, relaxing vibe and she's very responsive to... well, everything. You want the table a little warmer/ cooler? Got it. Want to lighten the pressure in certain areas? Sure, no problem! Curious about how 'x' pain connects to 'y' limb? You'll get an accurate, thoughtful response. Lights lower, music softer? She's on it. No stress added that I arrived a couple minutes late. She apparently had time, so she tacked those couple minutes on to the end and I got as many minutes as I actually paid for - that's always super appreciated! It would be nice if the room was a little more soundproofed or located further back in the building away from the road; I could hear lunch hour traffic rushing by on the street about 20 yd away. But other than that, this was a great massage, and I've had plenty over the decades. A lot of therapists these days slop through the motions, but Karen really has a pinpoint, accurate understanding of the human body and I give her full props for 90 minutes of targeted, firm pressure body work. Me having slightly arthritic hands, I greatly appreciate her stamina! I left the appointment, amazed with an amount of flexibility in my neck and shoulders I haven't felt in probably 10 years. My 82 yo mom loves it here, too. There's a plethora of skilled service providers and lots of face, body, general wellness treatments to choose from.

A surprisingly fantastic experience…read more I wasn't sure what to expect when I pulled up, but the property was easy to find. My first impression was honestly a mix of charm and "is this really it?" The fence door was literally "locked" together with a coat hanger. Once I stepped inside, everything shifted. I was the first guest to arrive and was greeted warmly by two staff members. They were friendly and relaxed, and they immediately made the place feel welcoming. I had the sauna completely to myself for the first 15 to 20 minutes, sitting at around 120°. I tried to keep time with rhythm and settle in, planning on doing a few 15‑minute rounds since I had booked a full two hours. After a while, I just followed my pulse to tell me to take a break. They also had a cold plunge tub, and I'm so glad I decided to use it. Alternating between the sauna and the plunge ended up being my procedure for the entire visit. As more people arrived, we eventually got the sauna up to 190° to 200°, and I got to experience the heat directly from the stove. I sat near the ceiling and near the door, and I even got to fulfill a small dream of pouring the water and doing the löyly myself! The people were fantastic. The conversation was genuinely great, the kind you don't expect but really appreciate. It felt communal without being crowded. Eight people made the truck feel full without being crowded. I could feel the heat on my nostrils as I breathed. There was no judgment about what you wore or how you used your towel. At one point a chunk of snow-cone ice was put on the rocks, infused with a lemongrass scent that opened up my sinuses. I finished the entire session with the "bucket dump." The changing area and bathroom are definitely on the primitive side. They are functional but nothing fancy. That said, they do have nice lockers, benches, and chairs outside, which helped balance things out. Overall, this was a memorable and energizing experience! The building is a little rustic around the edges, but the sauna room in the truck, the heat, the plunge, and the people more than made up for it. I hope to be back!

There is an online booking option which can be daunting but easy to navigate. Parking: there is a row of parking spots at the entrance of the Spa, which only has a few spots. I luckily had one spot open when I arrived. Would recommend coming a little early to the appointment to ensure you can find a spot. Greeting/First impressions: when you walk out of the elevator onto the third floor, you enter a calm, green, serene entrance. When you walk into the gift shop, there are many beauty/skin care products for sale, bathing suits, a bar, and health snacks available for purchase. The greeters in the front checking you in are nice and go over all of the spa rules and give a tour. Amenities: you first get fitted with clean slippers to use throughout the spa area, the slippers are nice and warm. Then you get a plush robe to go with it. The locker rooms have large lockers, towels, skin care, and hair care products along with rain shower bathing areas. There is a himalayan salt sauna room in each of the mens and womens locker rooms. There is a eucalyptus steam room (it gets HOT!), a hot therapy pool, and cold plunge available for use. This is available to anyone who has access to the amenities pass (any service over $100). There are menus with drinks and snacks available to order, this can be brought to you while in the pools or the relaxation room. There is also a small rooftop area to relax outside. Massage: I got a deep tissue massage with Aura. I typically ask to have the shoulders worked on the most, but she hit trigger points in even the smallest muscles in my hands and feet. Her hands are truly magical - would recommend booking with her if able! Checkout: check out was simple and quick, you pay at the end of your visit. They even gave a little parting gift of a thank you note and a sample anti inflammatory dark chocolate for the ride home. Overall, the bang was worth the buck!

The pools are pools, mostly, except... there's this one pool. I call it the "Fun Pool" but I doubt that's an official title. But it is a pool. And it is fun. It is filled with built-in pool toys, like a whirlpool tub (spin!) and a series of chain-pull showerheads (splash!). It's a fun way to cool down from a hard workout over at the RPAC, or just a fun way to swim if you don't want to do laps in the "real" pools. McCorkle also houses saunas- a great combination is to hit the sauna, then hit the pool, then hit the sauna, repeat. I don't know if you're supposed to do this- it's probably unsanitary in some fashion and it's probably unhealthy to so drastically alter your core temperature or whatever blah blah. I love it. So yeah, you could say McCorkle is just a pool facility- and you might as well, if it keeps you from crowding up my fun pool! But really, if you are a student at OSU and you aren't using this place (and the adjacent RPAC) then you are really missing out on some of the better things our fees have paid for in recent years.
