The basement had been partitioned with drywall, wallpaper, and wood paneling, which I nicknamed "The Mold Buffet." The whole basement needed to be gutted to get rid of the mold-ridden materials. It was a big job, since it's a fairly large basement. (A pipe had been leaking inside an old basement closet for years, and no one knew! Glad I got that fixed.) I interviewed people from 7 different companies before choosing Mold Men of Pittsburgh. They had an attention to detail that was above and beyond any of the other companies. And their pricing was fair and very reasonable compared to a few other estimates I received. When they initially sent a guy to my house to do an inspection and give me an estimate, their guy was the ONLY one who actually walked the entire outside perimeter of my house, even going behind thick bushes to make sure he could do a thorough inspection. He discovered some groundhog holes that needed to be filled. None of the other people had found those holes. I was impressed with this attention to detail! (You obviously do NOT want water sitting in holes adjacent to your house! I was grateful that he found this problem, so I could fix it.) After I hired Mold Men of Pittsburgh, their two-man crew completely gutted my basement, threw out the damaged materials into a dumpster, and professionally remediated the mold. They left no trace of it behind! They did an excellent and extremely thorough job. They left my basement in pristine condition! The crew was completely professional and polite the whole time and just very nice people in general with a strong work ethic. I highly recommend this company to take care of any mold remediation needs you may have. Their pricing is fair, and their level of professionalism is unmatched in their industry. They will do the job right the first time. They will do it thoroughly, and it will be as if the mold had never even been in your home! They are THAT GOOD! Mold Medics were the only ones who would disclose the product they use to treat the air ducts, answer questions and provide its ingredients. I felt safe with their product choice as it's one of the least toxic out there. Every person we interacted with, from initial call to the technician that did the cleaning was professional, respectful, experienced and a pleasure. They were incredibly clean too, which means a lot to me as a clean freak/germaphobe. Since then, we've recommended them to family and friends who were equally impressed and happy with their experience. We just had them come to our new house to service our ducts here too and even in the middle of a pandemic, I'm absolutely blown away by the experience. GS Jones did a tremendous job on the clean up and repairs to our home after a very large tree fell…read moreon the roof. The damage was extensive and work began with initial recovery services - starting literally within hours after the tree fell in the wee hours of a Sunday morning. The crew didn't leave until the house was secured with bracing and temporary roof repairs, and blowers and dehumidifiers were in place to begin mitigation of the damage. Repairs needed included new roofing, new skylights, ceiling and wall drywall repairs, and painting. Matt and Todd at GS Jones made sure that we had the best people available for each part of the work, and never quit until we were satisfied. The job finished up with the cleaning of wall-to-wall wool carpeting, custom window treatments, and oriental rugs. I hired this company for attic mold remediation and related repairs. The written agreement clearly…read morestated that half the payment was due upfront (which I paid), and the remainder was due upon completion. There was no clause or discussion requiring additional payment before the project was finished. The company completed only part of the work and then left the rest--specifically insulation and drywall--unfinished. This left my attic without insulation during the coldest part of winter. When I followed up to have the work completed, my calls went unanswered, despite being told they would return. One day, I came home from an appointment to find the workers packing up after completing only the mold remediation portion. They had the owner on speakerphone. At that point, the owner demanded additional payment before proceeding with the remaining work. This had never been discussed and was not reflected anywhere in the written agreement. I calmly pointed that out. The owner then proceeded to yell at me for an extended period of time over terms that simply did not exist in our contract. The interaction was aggressive, unprofessional, and completely out of line. During that conversation, I even tried to de-escalate and discussed possibly separating the remaining work due to his behavior. However, I made it clear that my preference was for the job to be completed properly and with care, as originally agreed. That never happened. After that interaction, the company stopped responding altogether. I ultimately had to hire someone else to finish the job. To be fair, the employees I interacted with in person were kind and professional. However, they also did not respond to my follow-up attempts, which I can only assume was direction from the owner. If you are considering this company, make sure every detail is explicitly documented and be aware that the project may not be completed as agreed. Additionally, the owner's conduct alone should give serious pause before entering into a contract.
