I would suggest you check with your insurance and make sure they have a good relationship with Restoration 1 before contracting with them. My experience was a negative in that, in my opinion, they will upcharge and then negotiate down with the insurance company. This added another level of stress for us in an already difficult situation. The initial work was good, Dean was thorough and professional, but I should have noticed something was not right because, during the demo, they wanted to rip out our tile floor (we're on a slab) but there was no evidence that water had gotten that far, Dean just said "well, your insurance will pay to replace it" but I said no because it DIDN'T NEED TO BE DONE! Once the work was done, he became a bit difficult - would not give all the info my adjustor requested, which caused a delay in our re-construction because he then needed to do an in-person inspection due to the lack of info from Dean. This put our start date out (coming up to the holidays) which ended up delaying our construction into and past Christmas. I had also asked to be copied on all correspondence with my insurance, but that didn't happen, I finally had to get firm with them and got copied on all the invoicing. Initially, we had a $5000 difference in what was billed vs. what the insurance would agree to - a third party review decided that the small amount of mold that had started to grow (we caught the leak early) did not rise to the category charges that Resto 1 was charging, so we were looking at having to pay the difference out of pocket. Ultimately, they all agreed to meet in the middle and we were left whole but it was not a good experience. So, I suggest that you monitor ALL of their activities, take lots of pictures and document what work they do (or don't do) so you have some ammunition should you run into a similar situation. read more

This is the second time that we have used the services of Bryan Casey and Restoration 1 of the Foothills, and boy did he and his expert team deliver. Out townhouse suffered significant water damage arising out of a major defect in our neighbor's patio which caused water to leak undetected over a period of time into the living room which is adjacent to the patio. When tile in the living room cracked and tented, we knew we had a problem. We contacted Bryan, and he was there the next day, quickly diagnosing the problem. He delivered us the bad news very professionally that water had seeped over the entire first floor and all of the tile in 4 rooms had to be removed. Bryan was very helpful in assisting us with an insurance claim with our neighbor's insurance company, providing detailed estimates of cost of various stages of the job, and actually discussing issues with the adjusters. After a couple of months, the claim was FINALLY settled. Then the fun began - his crew arrived on time and over the span of two days completely removed all the affected tile, thoroughly cleaned up, and then treated the bare concrete with a sealant. I had a flood in my basement during Ida due to a failed sump pump. I called Restoration 1 immediately the following morning and received a confirmed appointment for service the next day mid-afternoon. They told me that it was safe to leave the water for that period of time and they would hand things after assessment. I was quite relieved, being a senior, and having a carpeted basement. I waited at home, and waited, and waited. I tried to call them but they did not answer - and their mailbox was full. I received no calls, no apologies - NOTHING. I COULD have been trying to remove the water (I had since repaired my pump) with a wet vac and mediating the situation, but it sat for that time and I was unable to get anyone else to respond by then. I am a Doctor and if I treated my patients like Restoration 1 of Eastern PA did, I would have dead bodies galore, and no practice. Was making a simple phone call out of the question? Was keeping your word too difficult? Evidently. I would not trust them to do anything, and I would advise others to do the same. I have a bathroom right above my kitchen. The leak cause the area to be infested with mold. I called Bryan and he came out the next morning. He communicated clearly and told me exactly what to expect with the repair timeline. They isolated the damaged area from the rest of the house really well so that the mold spores would not spread. He also referred JM Painting to come and fix the dry wall and repaint the ceiling....who also did a really great job. The repairs took about a week and the guys from Restoration 1 came everyday to check on the ceiling and also notice that the toilet area had a wet spot that has not dried. So Restoration 1 brought their devices to the upstairs bathroom to dry out the bathroom sub-floor. Overall, I impressed by the communication, everyone being so detail-oriented and having the customer's best interest in mind. I would definitely recommend Restoration 1. read more

These guys are pros and know their stuff.. I have a large mold infestation behind the water heater, and they came on a short notice with a team and all the equipments to help ventilate and filter the air inside the garage so that no one gets exposed to the highly allergic toxins. They removed the infested drywall, and thoroughly cleaned up the area. After 4 days of HEPA filtering and dehumidifying of air around it, molds are completely gone. As added bonus, they also helped patch up the broken wall, at my request.. Great Job! read more

Our master bathroom, entire hallway, half of our infant's room and the border of our master bedroom unexpectedly flooded with about an inch of water. I panicked, Googled "flooded home FW" and clicked on the top link - Restoration 1. I'm so glad I did. Within an hour Greg arrived to assess the damage and pull together a plan. As first time homeowners, with our first insurance claim, we felt oblivious to the process and Greg erased the sense of panic. He walked us through the process, spoke directly to our insurance adjuster and had our home properly put together in less than a week's time. All of the contractor's that Restoration 1 worked with were so respectful and absolutely TOP NOTCH. Ed was kind, discrete and took the trim off quickly and dried the carpets. His demeanor was the same when he returned later in the process to put the trim on the walls again. Matt was exceptionally quiet and respectful of our sleeping baby when he came to repair the drywall in 30 minutes. The baby didn't even wake! I had a teeny tiny bit of water damage in my utility closet that is outside. My neighbor's a/c was situated so water from outside was leaking into her closet and dripping down into mine. My ceiling was damaged and falling apart in the closet. Keep in mind, that this is a small area of damage. Also keep in mind that the damage was outside in a utility closet. The techs came in and had to do an asbestos test because building was built in 1977. Anywho, not once did the tech ever mention any sort of pricing. Granted, I didn't ask but I didn't think it was going to be that bad. They brought in these huge dehumidifiers and fans for my closet and I did not want them for a couple reasons, A. It is a closet outside in an extremely dry climate. and B. It was snowing and was going to continue to snow. They insisted and brought the devices and hooked them up. I left them for a couple hours and then unplugged them because they are a huge energy drain. Anyways, the Tech came back a couple times (for minutes mind you) to come and help look at my neighbor's closet too. So the tech came back to tear down the ceiling (very very small area) and spray for mold. Took maybe 45 minutes. All in all, the tech was at my place a total of 2 hours. I got charged for 6 hours. The tech just left the fans and dehumidfiers in my closet for days and days (which ended up costing me a ton of money). He actually got a bit upset at me when he saw they weren't on anymore. He came back tore out ceiling (super small area, size of a large box lid) and sprayed then left. He did a sloppy job at best, left some of the ceiling up there with screws still intact. My bill was about $2500.00. I am extremely surprised and angry. This was a small job that was turned into something it should not have been. I would get a price quote from them upfront but honestly I would not use this company. There are way more honest and cheaper restoration companies to use. I just feel stupid for trusting them. Steer clear. I just was looking through my "contract" that I never received at time of service and they forged my signature to look like I got an estimate that I did not sign for or receive. These guys are fantastic. We discovered a leak in our wall which led to mold within the wall. The plumber recommended we call Restoration 1 to get the extent of the mold checked out, so we did. Ryan and a coworker came and did a thorough inspection, including crawling under the house. On finishing their inspection, they concluded that the mold was minor and localized to one small area of drywall. Rather than push us to have them do a full remediation, they recommended we instead call a handyman to cut out a small piece of drywall and repair. Because of their honesty, we saved thousands of dollars. If you have a problem or a potential problem, I highly recommend you give these guys a call. A lot of water damage which resulted in the need to remove insulation, drywall and complete drying out of the attic and walls. Then the replacement of insulation, drywall and paint. I found Restoration 1 on Yelp and I am glad I did! This was one of our customers homes so we needed immediate service. Called Restoration 1 and they got out there asap and did a fair and professional inspection. They interacted with the home owner and us in a very professional and considerate manner. I also had another company quote the job and Restoration 1 gave a much more fair and honest quote. They also sent us some really cool and technically advanced infrared pictures showing where all the water was in the walls. Which made me feel real comfortable that these guys new what they were doing and could attack the issue with precision. If you have a flood, call these guys, immediately. This company fields a professional and hard-working crew. We had a major, HAZMAT-type flood in our basement, and they responded _within the hour_ with a full team. They resolved everything, from setting up in four inches of water on Tuesday afternoon, to draining, disinfecting and removing the last of their equipment from a fully bone-dry basement, on Friday morning. All I had to do was open the door and point to the problem. Bryan explains everything and does exactly what he says he will do; on, time, as priced, and FAST. He is able to reduce what looks and feels like a disaster to an almost trivial issue; I could feel my blood pressure dropping just talking to him that first day. I wish I knew the names of everyone on his crew, but to name just two, Ryan and Josh are just as professional as the rest of their teammates and their boss.
