Our project was a bit challenging for them as old houses didn't leave room for ductwork & they were mostly a closed up style to contain the heat in one area opposed to heating an entire open space like many do today. But the owner & the engineers scribbled & crossed out one idea after another until they got to the best economical solution for long term use. Technician came to fix our central air which died in early July. He was knowledgeable and personable. He took his time explaining the problem and was able to fix it as he had the part in his truck. The price was fair for what was done and our a/c is back up and running. For that I'm very happy! The only down side was that when we called for service they couldn't schedule an appointment until 3 weeks later. I know it's summer and they are busy but I was hoping not to have to wait that long for the service. read more

My recent experience with this company was the worst I have ever had with any service provider. I was quoted a little over $1,800 for a job that another HVAC company fixed for $300. I called to have a central AC unit serviced, one that they installed two years ago. The tech who came out was all over the place with his evaluation. First he said my unit was discontinued, could not be repaired, and I'd need another one. Then he said the compressor on the unit could be fixed, but that would be expensive and that he would send me the quote. That was $1,639 plus a $200 service fee. No details on the quote. Just the amount. I went out for another quote from another company. The tech came out, found the problem, fixed it, and also inspected my entire system. The problem - A loose nut that was leaking coolant. Price for the whole thing - $310. I was shocked at the difference in the quality of service. I emailed and called Restivos but never heard back. Bottom line - Do your research. There are better options out there. read more

My review continues for the first AC unit I installed, not the one that they installed upside down and with dry fitted pipes on my first floor. The dehumidifier that Restivo attached to the ductwork during install fell off about 5 years ago, then again 2 years ago and I paid to reinstall, then again this June. And even with a 1K dollar a year maintenance contact they charged me $250 to hang and tape again because their after hours price is $250. This summer thus far I have spent $500 on after hour calls because my unit was not producing AC. That is on top of the 1K I spent in the spring for the maintenance plan. When I purchased my two air conditioner units and my furnace, I was promised a maintenance plan that they will no longer carry in 2027 (prices have increased over the years and I do agree that the maintenance plan has not saved me money at all). The service people they send out are nice and explain everything to me. When you call for service, if it's not an emergency call and you're not willing to pay the $250, it often takes days for somebody to come out. When given the opportunity to give me an estimate for a new furnace, which is what I needed based on my last call and $250 I paid them, they were unable to send a person to give me an estimate for five days even though the maintenance man said estimators come out usually within one or two days. Restivo will not be getting any more jobs from me and I have used them for 10 years exclusively. In my opinion this company has been going down hill. Trying a new company now read more

i never received the service i needed. a rep came to quote the job stating about 500 and called it in to someone in the office. two weeks later still no response as to when which i was told was a simple job for boiler. left messages, emails, etc. finally took a ride to main store. two girls didn't know anything and were no help and had no customer service experience on how to communicate. manger on duty heard my concerns was not very professional and found him to be abrupt but did state he'd look into the issue and send a quote for the job that same afternoon! three weeks later no response!! i would love to speak to the owner of this company..........! also i went with another company to get the work done! thank you for listening! read more

Mario was a good talker. What we received was not what he said. Never benifited from the so called rebates. I hate the system as a heating unit because it's completely dried out my house and makes us all itch from the desert we now live in. It's difficult to regulate room to room. I hate it as a heating system. I'm holding out full criticism until summer comes around. I invested $17k just to have a better summer. Then I get a song and dance answer about how understaffed they are. While I can appreciate that, being in a service related industry myself, those are your issues and not the customers. I had Restivo's install 2 heating/cooling mini splits. I chose them after several quotes from other companies. One was difficult to work with, and one didn't even show to give a quote. It was later discovered that there was a small hiccup during the install that wasn't present for a year after the initial install. They have been wonderful with the correction and all the general maintenance since. Their tech Matt was great when he came out. They have been so fair and above board since I first contacted them. read more

I was excited to get a tankless water heater and furnace all in one system and restivo's had been recommended to us. The first day they came one of the guys refused to wear a mask the entire time he was there. He spent an hour of the time he was there using my bathroom (was he sick and in my house?) Then the second day they supposedly "finished" installing the system (which left a messy hole in the side of our house with 2 ugly pipes hanging out but that was the least of my concerns). The system was leaking. They also broke a ceiling tile in my basement and didn't even offer to replace it. They came back the next day to replace the leak. It was not fixed properly. Then they came back again. STILL wasn't fixed. The thirds time they came back. Sorta fixed. Then after about a week we had another issue when we realized a part was welded on wrong. They were scheduled to come back today to fix it. Now we have no heat or hot water. My father in law fixed it. I'm so over restivos you guys really blew. Seriously. This worst company I have ever had a contract with. I made an appointment 2 months ago for maintenance service on my boiler and central air conditioning system. On the date of the appointment, I was out on military duties. When the technician came to my house he only serviced the air conditioning system but did not work on the boiler. He took advantage of the fact that my wife doesn't know match about the work that was to be done. The technician coerced my wife into paying over $500 after he only did half the work I requested for. I scheduled a routine maintenance for my air conditioning. Not being on a "contract" I was told I would have to wait for an opening - about 6 weeks and the min. charge would be $169 plus parts. It was the end of June when I called. I called another company; got an appointment within a week. Technician was on time, professional, and helpful. And the charge was $95. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made an appointment over a month ago to have my units serviced. I took today off to be there for the appointment. I received a call at 9:00 (appointment scheduled for 10:00 - 2:00), stating that I had been bumped due to contract customers needing service. This tells me that Restivo's is not looking to grow their business by adding new customers. I spoke to John, who was very rude!!!!! I should have been notified the day before so that I didn't have to waste a vacation day. I would not recommend Restivo's to anyone based on how I was treated. last yerar are unit was serviced by mike at that time he told us when you call next year tell the person who takes the call that you need and extra 90 minutes so he could clean out the blower fan . we did just that spoke to a girl heather. when mike arrived at the house he did what had to be done for anual service but he never was told about the extra time needed she did not put it on his service call. so we did not get it done. we were told to call again and set up a new appointment. we have done that 3 seperate times as of today august 4 2022 we still do not have it done .again we had a service call set up for today and we called to see if the service man was coming and told by heather no he could not make it again after 3 attempts we will never never do business with this company again. and heather will not make you talk to one of the rstivos she tells us they are not available. i guess they do not care what goes for owners to never be there read more

Worst customer service ever. They love selling you the product and the extended warranty package but when something goes wrong the chase is on. Missed service calls. Phone tag for days. Techs show up who aren't qualified to work on certain AC units. They installed a wall unit in my bedroom. Needed service 3 times in 2 years. Can't blame it on wear and tear since I only use the AC. I heat the room with baseboard. First service tech was 12-4 on a Friday. Shows up at 430 and admits he's not qualified to work on unit. Office sent him just to show up. Had to reschedule in 3 weeks. Tech shows up spends 3 hours jimmy rigging it to work. Lasted a few weeks. This year tech pulls a no show but calls saying he can come on a Saturday on his own time. Nice of him but no thanks. Office never calls back to reschedule the appointment so I drive up to the office. Staff were clueless. John the guy in charge lost it on the staff and starts swearing at them. Totally unprofessional and inappropriate to do so with me there. They ordered the wrong part. Says when the correct part comes in he will call me. Week goes by and I get the call that the part came in. Schedule appointment, tech shows up with the wrong parts. He goes to truck and takes a part from an old unit. Fixed it with a used part! Got it working and leaves. I get a call a few days ago from John the mouth asking if I am paying the $90 bill. I told him I never received a bill and when I do I won't pay it. 3 services calls to get a used part that is covered by my warranty and he wants money. John the mouth then says if you ain't paying we are voiding your contract. That's what I wanted to hear now I can take legal action in small claims court. Stay away from Restivo's. read more

Contacted restivos to do a tuneup on my furnace. The guy came out and pretty much without even open it told me that it's old and should be replaced. He came in no more than 10 minutes didn't even open it and charged me $90 to tell me that needs to be replaced. He said he was giving me a break because it was supposed to be 150. Since then Ive contacted other contractors to provide a second opinion. None of the contractors said that it should be replaced that I can continue using it but need to think about replacing it for energy efficiency usage. The only reason I'm giving this two stars as we did have someone from sales come out his name was Jim and he was very honest and spent a lot of time with us explaining what the process is. I will replace the furnace but not until next year with another company. read more

I've been shopping around for a good HVAC company and have decided with this company. I looked into 4 other companies and they have fallen short of my expectations. I choose Restivo's for the following reasons: 1. Jack, owner, came into my home and did a thorough job of doing his estimation by measuring, looking into my existing HVAC equipment, looking at the layout of my home, and most importantly, sat me down and explained my options and why I needed them in simple terms where I can understand it. Unlike, the other companies, they simply looked into my home, explained a few things about HVAC and just made a list of equipment and their cost. I was not comfortable with that at all. Jack has never pressured me on getting something on the high end; he'll ask you a few questions and based on your answers, he'll list some recommendations and why these equipment will work for you needs. 2. Restivo's was easy to deal with and would respond to your questions when you call their company. And prior to the job where I needed a new furnace. I asked for their proof of bond, insurance, and license. They sent me a copy right away. The admin at their company was very helpful and courteous. 3. The day finally came when the job was needed to be done. The crew came early in the morning around 8:45am. The first thing I noticed is that they had 3 guys working on the job. That's a good thing. By the time they finished, it was about 2:30pm. My father in law and I checked on their work. The furnace, pipping, and AC unit was well done where it looked very professional. They tested both the heater and AC and it worked very well. I was happy with their job. The crew were professional and courteous. 4. Restivo's, in compared to other companies, has a very competitive price. Their price out of the 4 other companies was at the lower end and I was very happy with that. Wow. Horrible. Bought a condo that had a brand new HVAC system installed in Winter 2017 by Restivos. Nothing seemed out of place until April when I turned on the AC for the first time and nothing but lukewarm air.. First appointment they sent someone out to inspect to find out what the problem is. Second tech they sent cancelled on me twice. Comes out early May. Tells me that it's likely a bad TXV valve. Says it's under warranty and they'll order it. Memorial Day weekend rolls around, still no AC. No calls either. I call them and they acted surprised that I was waiting on this repair. They said someone would call me to schedule the following week the part was apparently going to arrive. No call again. I call back and they put me on the schedule with a tech for a couple days later. He calls that morning, says he's tied up and won't be able to make it and needs to reschedule. We reschedule for the following evening. He cancels again. I complain to company. Finally he shows up at the third appointment and can't fully complete the repair in 4 hours. Needs to come back the next day to recharge system. No call, no show. Now I'm mad. I call company and complain again, they promise he'll be out Saturday. No call, no show. Seriously pissed at this point. Sunday rolls around and he shows up OUT OF THE BLUE. Adds Refrigerant. 1 month later system starts blowing hot air again. I call another company because they obviously can't perform the work right. Finally the next company adds more refrigerant. Tells me that there's probably a leak since that's not supposed to happen at all. Turns out the leak is likely due to a bad O-Ring that would have been installed by Restivos. Now, I'm faced with a $1200 bill to fix something that SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. STEER CLEAR. You'll thank me later. read more

One of the technician came to my house and supposed to fix my heating instead he charged me $247.00 and left the night and leave us without heat and hot water through out the night and then came back the next day to replace and install a lousy termostat which cost me another $180.00 for parts and labor.i don't know if the guy is inexperienced or it's just his way to get more money out of me?so do the math for a termostat. read more

We spent $15,000 to have Restivo's install Weil-Mclain Ultra 155 boiler and water heater and it's been one problem after another. It randomly shuts down 5/6 times during each winter and needs to be manually reset. Had the outdoor sensor replaced but that never helped. One of the pipes corroded and needed to be replaced. I found today that the unit should have been installed with a mixing valve but never was. Now we have uncontrolled hot water that's presenting a safety hazard to my family. Lastly, there is now a coil leak in the water heater which will cost in the neighborhood of $2000 to fix (hoping it will be covered under warranty). On 5/18/16 I had Restivo's come to my house to do maintenance on a system they installed back in July of 2008. The technician stated that there a was a serious leak in the air handler unit. He put 8lbs of Refrigerant and a sealer in. He also informed me that because of the age of it I would have to replace the complete system. We ran it for a few hours to let the sealant do its job then shut it off till warmer weather. Went to use the system on Memorial Day weekend and the compressor would keep kicking off. We attempted to get a hold of Restivo's on that Saturday but they were closed. I found another company, Affordable Heating and Air Conditioning and they come out within 2 hours of the call and checked the system out. They found it was over charged by at least 3 lbs. The pressure was at 650psi instead of the normal 325psi! They also found a leaking fitting near the recharge location which will hopefully take care of the leak. They also stated they could repair any leak that was found and it was a load of crap about replacing that entire system! When I contacted Restivo's about what had happened the customer service rep "John" said he would look into it with the technician and get back to me. I have called many times and he's never there for different reasons and since he was the original contact nobody else would help me. He has never returned any of my calls to tell me that they won't refund me any money, instead he ignores me! No balls. Will file a complaint with the BBB next. I will never do business with this company and the same for people that I know. We have all switched to Affordable Heating and Air conditioning. See my reviews on that company coming soon. read more

Restivo's completed an outstanding installation of a whole house a/c system today. As stated, they completed the entire install in two days. Nick Restivo and Jay Olsen did an outstanding job. Very efficient and clean. They cleaned up each day before leaving and you couldn't tell they were here, only that we had a wonderful a/c system cooling the house ! Before leaving, they asked if I had any questions, which they answered. They were very helpful and showed me how to operate the a/c thermostat and how to know when and how to replace the filter. (This is written by my mom who isn't too familiar with posting on these sites so I am typing it for her) I went to Restivos to look into getting a ductless central air system installed. It was a bit confusing but I assumed it was just an off day for them. Well that should have been a hint because the entire process has been nothing but aggravation. It was installed in July 2015 and they even mixed up the installation day which caused me to have to take 2 days out of work. The install took an entire day and within this years time they have been back 5 times because the unit is still not working properly. It will just die out or not blow any cool air at all. A few weeks after installing they said their was a problem with a line and they needed to add coolant. This is ridiculous for a brand new system. Since the first service call they have come 4 times and it is currently still not working. The last service call I told them this is ridiculous it is brand new and it should not have all these problems. I told the service man that I will be expecting a new unit or money back and he responded with, and I quote, "Good luck with that because that's not gonna happen." They said the best they are going to do is extend the warranty another 2 years so when it breaks again they will fix it. This is RIDICULOUS. I will be contacting a lawyer if this isn't rectified soon. read more

I called restivo's because my a.c. Was freezing over and I would have to shut breaker to thaw then it works again. With that being said to restivos when I call them. It took a service worker three appointments and an extra 500$ that I shouldn't have had to spend. They SCREWED ME. I put a call in to a manager and got nowhere, so I tried to call owner of company(who I thought was friend of family) and still got nowhere. People BEWARE they will certainly take your money. Charge you for things that you don't need just to charge you. If I couldn't put up any stars for review I would have no stars. read more
