Vegetarian enchiladas verdes with cheese and crema (I ate the mango before taking the picture)
Aakruti V.

This place is a hidden gem. If you don't mind pulling out the Google translate to order in Spanish, you're in for a treat. When we walked in, the music was loud but they were happy to turn it down a bit for us. Right away we felt well-taken care of. The server came right away to take our drink order. We ordered a Diet Coke (coca lite) and tap water (agua natural) with ice (con helado). They also brought out a complimentary taco on the house (with meat - spicy) and chips and salsa (also spicy). I'm a vegetarian (vegetariana) so they made me green sauce enchiladas with cheese. I also ordered what looks like a large taco, which they made me with cactus, avocado, crema, bell peppers and onions, grilled. It came on a corn tortilla with pinto beans under the veggies. My friend ordered 3 tacos: asada, carnitas, and the chicken. Everything was really good! My favorite part is that the dishes came garnished with limes, orange slices, and sweet mango slices. The fruit was a nice touch, especially the mangos! My enchilada also came with rice and beans, and a salad. All of the plates were full, and when I mentioned I was vegetarian, the staff came over to confirm how I wanted my food, and whether certain ingredients were ok (in Spanish, but there was one gentleman who spoke a little English). At the end, we had Horchatas to go, and my horchata was honestly the best I've had in the US. Although the business takes credit card, they prefer tips to be in cash. If you don't like spicy food, this place may not be for you. But if you like good Mexican food, at a place with a fun and welcoming vibe that feels like you're in Mexico, then I recommend checking out this place. Also - we were curious what the name of the restaurant meant. It is something along the lines of a metro train route - the restaurant's theme is the Mexico City Metro.

enchiladas were absolutely not edible. Two bytes and couldn't eat it. The same with my girlfriend's plate

My girlfriend and I came in for a date night out trying a new restaurant The atmosphere is okay. Should have known the place was a little dead there wasn't any latins eating in there. First clue probably that the place wasn't all that good but the enchiladas I ordered were straight out of the can maybe some sauce poured on them reheated. Straight two bites straight garbage. My girlfriend ordered a plate of shrimp was very specific about what she wanted The shrimp she received was nothing more than the fox shrimp you would have received out of the freezer section at Safeway that had been reheated in fact they were overcooked. We ended up paying $56 for uneditable food and their food ended up leaving us with sour stomachs and bathroom and Pepto-Bismol. They're food is trash avoid this place at all time costs. There are plenty of better Latin food restaurants in the area

Can in here because of an Ad I saw on Facebook, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! I went with a friend and we both ordered Molcajetes, I got the seafood one and she got the Mixto. I love love their salsa and frijoles they put at the bottom of the molcajetes, then followed by your choice of protein, and piled by slices of queso asado and grilled nopales hanging on the sides. They give you about 4 handmade delicious tortillas! I almost forgot to mention, we got complimentary chips and salsa as soon as we got sat down, and then once we ordered the first item out after our drinks was complimentary caldo . So freaking delicious. For drinks I got an horchata and my friend got a Super Michelada. I had one of the shrimps on the rim of the Michelada and wow it was so full of flavor and surprisingly not overcooked. I admire the inside of the restaurant and the music, they even asked us if there was any music we would like to listen to. I felt super welcomed and treated like if I was at a friend's house having a meal. Update: I came back with 2 more friends( 4 total of us) and we were once again treated like royalty and food was still amazing. Very veggie/vegan friendly!

Came for a lunch meeting and was greeted by amicable staff. Plenty of items to choose from the menu and glad to see a dedicated torta menu as this is my jam. Ordered the Torta Oaxaceña - full of meat and cheese, on a big slice of bread. Very filling. Good ambiance, tv and laser lights. Music a little loud but for the small space it is reasonable. Fairly priced for the food downtown. Parking available in the plaza behind. Al fresco dining in the back. Great business owner under fairly new ownership.

I recently went to the restaurant with a big group on Saturday night. Everyone was little skeptical about the place. I convinced everyone to trust me. As it turns out, everyone at the end was impressed with the food and service. They served vegetable soup and salsa with chips once seated. Let me tell you the spice and flavor on that salsa was on another level. Soup was amazing. We all ordered some drinks and entrees. I had Michelada, and el polo enchiladas. The green sauce on enchiladas was awesome. Definitely will be coming back for authentic Mexican food

Stumbled upon this restaurant near SJSU and wanted to give it a try. Amazing customer service. Seated us and provided chips and salsa. The waitress did not speak English but was able to have another worker translate. They provided complimentary agua frescas, Al pastor taco, and a baked potato. We ordered two tacos each and were so full at the end of our meal. Would definitely come back because of the great service. Would want to try their other foods as well as alcoholic beverages! (:

Hidden Gem Complimentary chips and salsa oh and caldo(maybe bc it was raining) ordered the mixto molcajete. Super delicious and lots of meat! Had alot of chicken, asada and shrimp. Had a supreme michelada with lots of shrimps on the brim. Never had it with corona but it was light and refreshing. Id say cheapest and tastiest molcajetes in the south bay!

The food was pretty good, the Al pastor is what you should stick with. I ordered asada pastor pollo lengua and carnitas. Hands down pastor took the crown. Overall - coming back, decent spot

The service was amazing. The atmosphere great, but the food was absolutely incredible! Surprise the corner restaurant was too busy but I'm so happy we stopped in!

Great presentation. Couldn't take a picture of the Michelada because we are the shrimp too quickly; highly recommend it. Tacos were well cooked. Huarache, according to my Mexico City born husband were the best he has ever eaten. El menudo was flavored well but hot! Really great for the price.

Tacos al pastor. They taste just like they do in Mexico.

I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

We ordered 2x Carne Asada Taco 7/10 2x Al Pastor 7/10 Asada Burrito Bowl 7/10 Enchiladas with Rojo Sauce 7/10 The burrito bowl was good, but for the price point you may be better off going to Chipotle, I felt that the burrito bowl was a bit soggy. The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

I would suggest that the serve mention that when taking orders so we know. Just because it's at the very bottom of the menu I didn't notice it until I asked for a dessert menu. The food was so good! We had Mexican jambalaya, Carne asada plate, tacos Dorado, enchiladas with both sauces, parillada, enfrioladas (bean enchiladas) tacos de pescado, Don julio flight, multiple drinks and churros. The churros were really good although we wish there was a non filled ones too and to have the optionof if we wanted it dressed up because churros are already super sweet with the cinnamonand sugar dusted but caramel and whip cream was added along with a strawberry filling. We also ordered a tres leches cake but we didn't like the tres leches cake, it was too sweet, so sweet that we couldn't taste the filling which we assume was pineapple lol the color was yellow with pieces of fruit but we couldn't taste it. Overall the service was great and quick. I would definitely come back here.

I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

It's been a while, so we decided to check out ZR for a late lunch…read more We found parking easily, but we had to wait a little bit before someone came by to seat us. We were seated at the booth in the back, which I have always admired, but I now realize it has its disadvantages. It is right by the bathroom, which got a bit of traffic on our visit. That's not such a big deal. The bigger concerns I have are: (1) there is no cushioning for those of us with little of our own and (2) you have to sit up fairly straight and if you want to lean against the wall, you're likely to rub shoulders with the wall hanging. Next time I will ask to be seated someplace else as there were two 2-tops outside. The food is always made from quality ingredients and I'm glad to see they are experimenting with pricing and quantity. I did not see mention of their daily happy hour, which was a feature of last year's visit so that may be gone. However, they now have a five tacos platter which offers relatively good value from the menu prices. This would be good for sharing for two people I think. But that is not what we ordered on this visit. My wife ordered two vegetarian (verduras) tacos and the Blood Orange/Jalapeno mocktail. I ordered the huevos rancheros. Unlike Luna, tortilla chips and salsa are not complimentary. So we let our appetites build. Our food arrived fairly quickly, so that was good and we dug in. My wife had ordered two extra eggs (extra charge) to accompany her tacos, and I think she was glad she did. The vegetarian tacos were not terribly generous for the price. My huevos rancheros came in a neatly stacked pile. My wife thought to ask if they had a hot sauce and they do! So we requested their hottest version. It was a welcome addition to the meal (gratis). A little vinegary, but plenty of heat. The mocktail was quite good. Like Spindrift and some other sparkling waters, it is not sweetened, but it had a good amount of strained blood orange juice, and you could taste the fresh jalapeño. I wonder if they have tried adding mint to this as I think it would be welcome. Maybe next time I will ask if they can experiment with me by adding some mint.

It was very loud inside as I think they were making pico and using the multipurpose chopper. It got so loud at one point that we couldn't even talk with each other without having to practically scream. The decoration is beautiful though and feels like you're at a Mexican mom's fancy kitchen. Service was not good at all. We had to wait over 15 minutes to get our order taken and then we watched our food stand on the counter top for another 5 minutes. Once we were served we were never checked up on until the end when we had to flag them down to get the check. I don't think we'll be coming back.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

Sip Happens... and So Does a Solid Taco Night…read more My husband, daughter, and I were in the mood to shake things up with margaritas somewhere new, and our daughter pointed us toward Copita Tequileria y Comida. As we cruised by looking for parking, it was clear we had picked a lively spot--buzzing energy everywhere: inside, outside, and even upstairs. We were quickly seated indoors, though on such a beautiful day we assumed we'd be offered outdoor seating. No big deal--we asked, and they happily moved us to a shaded table with plenty of space. Much better. Drinks were first on the agenda: margaritas and a michelada, all refreshing and exactly what we were hoping for. Our server, Michelle, was friendly, attentive, and even shared some helpful tips about perks with our American Express Platinum Card--a nice, unexpected touch. We kicked things off with queso fundido, though a brief mix-up brought us chips and guacamole from another table first. Once we pointed it out, it was quickly handled--but honestly, it looked so good we ended up ordering it anyway. No regrets there--it definitely hit the spot. We hadn't planned on a full dinner, so we went with lighter bites. The tuna tostadas and halibut ceviche were a hit--fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. I went with the tortilla soup, which was good and nicely presented... but didn't quite wow me. I've been on a bit of a tortilla soup tour lately, and this one leaned a little heavy on the tortillas (soaking up too much broth) and had more zucchini than I expected. That said, major points for serving it piping hot--something a lot of places miss--and the avocado was a great addition. One thing worth noting: I didn't catch it until later, but there's a 4% living wage surcharge added to the bill--and it's taxed. That caught me off guard, and I'm still not entirely sure how that works in California. Overall, a fun, energetic spot with great drinks, tasty bites, and solid service. Not perfect, but definitely good enough to come back for another round.

Yay for mom and pop eats :) Well, I was introduced to this place by my best friend, but I never carried cash to go, so I never tried it until another friend of mine mentioned the Blossom Hill location and them accepting credit card payment! (Yay, but let's not get carried away). I came on a Tuesday evening with friends and saw the place packed! Thats always a good sign~ We each ordered an individual dish to eat and chat. I was intrigued by the burrito bowl and worried it may be small. Jokes on me, it was way more than enough! Don't let the size of the bowl trick you into thinking it's not enough. The avocado was nice and perfectly ripe, the crema sauce drizzle was not overwhelmingly added onto the ball, and the salsa had a nice acid and tomatoey compliment to the beans, meat, shredded lettuce, rice, and cheese! I think this place is pretty solid for the price point and quality. They also have a free for all sauce bar too which is nice! Everything is so spicy, except for the green salsa lol. Servers seemed okay. They didn't really check on us, but it feels like a service yourself kind of place. You grab your own waters, condiments, and sauce here. If you want their chunky mango salsa, you have to flag a server down! However, 1 star is knocked off for the credit card charge, which I'm not even sure what the percentage is. I didn't see a sign at the register or perhaps I didn't look hard enough. I think this should be mentioned on the door and possibly their menu (if it isn't already). Can someone confirm if the credit card charge is 3%? Even my receipt wasn't clearly mentioning the percentage--just the fact that there's a credit card processing fee.
