Chicken Mole using chicken breast (pechuga) with rice and whole beans.
    Merrick W.

Came back for another visit and it was just as awesome as the first. Mole is SO good, and the homemade tortillas. This time they also had Jamaica, my favorite agua fresca. The nicest people work here -- absolutely terrific attentive friendly service!

Chicken mole- chicken dry and sauce very bland. No bueno.

Service was slow due to only 3 people working there but understandable . Friendly staff. Plenty of parking . Huge restaurant but only half is being used. Other half looks like storage . Atmosphere festive but could use updates. Food taste made up for everything. Excellent food large portions and average pricing . Love the mole.

From the moment you enter and get greeted to being seated and. ordering my food very pleasant friendly atmosphere we ordered Mexican shrimp cocktail. It had so much shrimp we took some home it was fresh and delicious that was our appetizers then we ordered the fried fish and carne asada tacos with rice and beans. If it's not on the menu you are able to create a plate of your liking The Michelada was good I really enjoyed my dinner and will defiantly be returning so if . It's by yourself ,or with a friend ,a company group meeting or celebrating your bday they are ready to make your day special ...thank you GLORIA our waitress and Miguel Gallegos and Flor Campos is a are cooks and servers & bartenders This is a family owned restaurant that's been in business for more than 10 years

Stopped in for the Caldo de Rez soup and decided to try their 7 Seas seafood stew. It turned out to be a great choice! A very tasty broth loaded with seafood and vegetables. Neli our server was very prompt and helped us with our choices. I am giving them only 4 stars because their chips were not light and tasty as expected.

Tacos dorados buried under shredded cabbage

I have driven by this place and million times and finally came in. The food was fantastic. I got half order of the tacos dorados- 2 chicken and 1 potato. Came with a generous helping of cabbage, sliced tomato, radish, avocado & pickled jalapeño. The chips & salsa were good too. It's right across the way from Regional Hospital. My mom is hospitalized and the cafeteria is only open until 2pm. As it is walking distance, perfect place to take a quick break and have a nice meal. I'll be back tomorrow!

Large molcajete. Can be for 2 people. Comes with 4 tortillas. If you are sharing ask for more tortillas. The service is amazing. Highly recommend this location for molcajete.

    Tacos dorados de papa

Yesterday, I decided to try this place, and I'm glad I did. Despite going there on a Sunday lunchtime, the service was speedy, and the staff were friendly. The menu is consistent, and they also offer some special dishes. Although the price is slightly higher than average, the portions are enormous, making it worth the price. Upon arrival, you enter a spacious, pristine restaurant with ample natural light. Live music adds to the lively atmosphere, while several TVs display different soccer matches, a common feature in Mexican restaurants. I had "tacos dorados de papa" (5 fried tacos filled with potatoes topped with cabbage, tomato, jalapeño, avocado, and potatoes) and "agua de meló." Everything was super tasty, and the bonus point: they bring you two homemade salsas! (red and green).

What days and times do they have live music?

We do not have live music on behalf of the business, but 3 people bands do come in and are hired by customers to play table-side. They tend to be most active Friday-Sunday, but it’s all dependent of whether or not customers decide to hire them.

How are the burritos you use refried beans?

All our burritos are super with fresh ingredients. We do use refried beans but can substitute for whole pinto beans upon request! :)

I would suggest that the serve mention that when taking orders so we know. Just because it's at the very bottom of the menu I didn't notice it until I asked for a dessert menu. The food was so good! We had Mexican jambalaya, Carne asada plate, tacos Dorado, enchiladas with both sauces, parillada, enfrioladas (bean enchiladas) tacos de pescado, Don julio flight, multiple drinks and churros. The churros were really good although we wish there was a non filled ones too and to have the optionof if we wanted it dressed up because churros are already super sweet with the cinnamonand sugar dusted but caramel and whip cream was added along with a strawberry filling. We also ordered a tres leches cake but we didn't like the tres leches cake, it was too sweet, so sweet that we couldn't taste the filling which we assume was pineapple lol the color was yellow with pieces of fruit but we couldn't taste it. Overall the service was great and quick. I would definitely come back here.

Plenty of parking available since the restaurant is in a strip mall. It wasn't too busy when we got there, but then it started picking up. There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Both of the desserts were so good and a perfect touch of sweetness.

Unfortunately inflation and the economy has changed the prices and food sizes, but at least it still tastes good. Some of my favorites here over the years have been the salmon tacos, Esquites, Enchiladas De Camarone and suizas, and the bacon guac. I used to not bat an eye and order whatever I wanted, but now I do have to think a little bit more so that the bill doesn't get too high. This location has a super cute front patio, it's bright, light, and airy, transporting you out of San Jose and right to a vacation mode. Even though it's on a pretty busy road, the traffic isn't usually distracting. Parking in the area can be hard, there's a couple paralele spots and then it's all neighborhood parking on the side of the street with the restaurant. Across the street can be a little bit easier.

They have seating out front inside and in the back, but the place was pretty full. Nonetheless, we were seated quickly as we had a reservation. It is a good idea to call ahead and make one. The prices are high, but hopefully all their people are making a good living and the portions are enough for our appetites at least. I had the shrimp enchiladas, and my wife had the vegetarian tacos with a side order of scrambled eggs. There was nearly a mixup as the waiter thought we wanted to order an egg taco and that's considerably more expensive but we got it straightened out with the maitre D. We also shared a Paloma cocktail with which has a pretty color and delightful taste.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.
