Situated in the lobby of our hotel, the locale for our daily petite déjeuner - and while it's no Four Seasons brunch, it wasn't a bad option for fueling up - the buffet spread includes a few cereals, a bunch of Euro breakie meats (ham, turkey, prosciutto), yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cut fruit, and some horrid looking pancakes, a nod to Americans, though I didn't actually hear much English spoken at the hotel, so unclear why they allow these to tarnish the display.
Buffet is €21, a pastry basket & coffee for €13, and à la carte items - eggs, cereal, pastries - can also be head relatively in expensively (€6.5 for two eggs), though teas/coffee were oddly pricey - €6.2/pot - if you don't hit the spread.
As is true in most places in France, service est compris, which to me, means slow and inattentive, as servers have zero incentive to work for tips, so they don't. On one hand, it's a nice break from the shenanigans of overly intense waiters in the States, but on the other, I need my cafe refilled at least 9 times per meal...so I like someone who makes eye contact with patrons, even just a little. Also, servers don't parlais amazing English, so if you ask for "laits sans lactose...soya...soy milk", you will get gluten free rolls...which weren't half bad, shockingly, but didn't exactly make my coffee experience complete.
They also serve lunch and dinner, but I have no intel on those meals. A fine option if you're staying here. read more
