arrived to Hirsch Hotel late Sunday evening, and were lucky because restaurant was still open! Lady at Reception suggested to get dinner with traditional bavarian goose, which is very popular at mid October! And it was very very delicious with red cabbage! and local lager beer paired with meal perfectly

OMG! This is an amazing Bavarian experience The menu had many traditional dishes worth a twist and some more that are far from traditional. Bora was fabulous, there for us art every turn. More to come.....

Maultaschen

Excellent spot, with friendly, attentive service. We ate in front room rather than the main dining area but enjoyed good. The pork two ways was excellent, and a huge portion. Same with the venison gulasch. Between the venison and the Maultaschen (oversized ravioli), you can get some good German specialties. I'm sure the desserts are good too, but I recommend heading into town: the gelato place on the left hand side of the main drag is incredible. Get the hazelnut.

I had the Gulash Von Hirsch (Venison). It was the best venison I have had! Great food.

I loved our dinner here, from start to finish it was grand. The only downside is that we were…read moreseated inside on a hot day with no air conditioning and it was sweltering. Not their fault as we should have just sat outside, which we had a choice of. My mother loved her trout, she was raving about it for days and claimed it was one of the best trout dishes she has ever had. The skin was crispy and the fish was cooked to perfection. I had the duck which was also cooked with skill, the orange sauce was on the thin side but very tasty. Both dishes came with an amazing potato gratin and plentiful well cooked veggies. The price is very fair, and this place was one of our favorite restaurants we ate at during our 4 city Germany trip. The service is also top notch and the waitress was lovely.

He argued with me when I said that the "roast beef" on the menu was just a hard steak and I wanted a soft roast beef as it was mentioned on the menu. So when I said that he went off on me saying that "yes, it is a steak indeed but locally it is called a roast beef." My point is that the waiter should have explained that the "roast beef" on the menu is just a steak and not a roast beef when I was ordering. Instead I got yelled at... The whole fried fish was alright. The duck was also alright. Their beef broth soup with dumplings was amazing, the cheese dumplings are not cheese dumplings but meatballs with some cheese inside. I wasn't told it as well but I was pleasantly surprised. Their flat cheese pancakes were delicious too. We spent over 200 Euros for four people. I cannot say we enjoyed the experience... I do not recommend this place.

The chef recommendations we had were all nice, including the tuna and swordfish carpaccio and the different seafood entrees we chose. The pizza was also very nice. Some of the staff were friendly and more attentive than others. We understood that we went on a busy night, but two tables who were seated quite a while after us both got their meals a long time before we did. Our appetisers took 70 minutes and our entrees took about 85 minutes to arrive. We asked about the food about an hour in and were told "it's very busy, you need to be patient". Only when we pointed out about the other two tables having eaten did our food arrive. BEWARE; they charge €6.50 for tap water! We questioned it and the woman said "it's not like America, it's normal here". Firstly, we are English and French, not American. Secondly it was our third night in Germany and our seventh time dining out and this was the ONLY place that charged for tap water! The food is also more expensive than anywhere else we ate at in Fussën. Good food but poor service from some of the staff. We went for dessert elsewhere.
