Insalata Chef

The restaurant was clean, so no complaints about that. The food was not bad at all, but also not...good? It was very average food, I got a salad, which I enjoyed (Insalata Chef), and I would recommend for a refreshing lunch. However, we also got a pizza that was mediocre (especially considering that it was a pizzeria). Overall, we expected more, but if you are in the area, it wouldn't hurt to try it out.

This place was difficult to find but definitely a hidden gem in the Fussen neighborhood. One of the best meals of our Germany trip. Excellent service and food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a pizza, a pasta dish and a salad and were good enough to feed 4 people. Including the beer our check came out to be less than 30 Euro...that's usually how much we spend for one person in NYC!

One of the best meals we've had in Germany funny enough. Dishes were reasonably priced compared to most restaurants both in Munich and Füssen. It was so good we decided to come back the next day for dinner. The first visit we ordered one seafood linguini pasta and one tricolore pizza(tomato, spinach and mozzarella). The second visit we shared one rocket salad and one pizza (ham, artichoke, mushrooms, and paprika peppers). The ham was thin and cooked perfectly on top and their pizza crust was thin, crispy, and chewy. The pizzas were our favorite part and I'd recommend any of them with spinach and/or ham. Perfect portion for two people to share as well! And to top it all off they are one of the few places in town that takes card, not just cash, so you can save your euro cash for street vendors.

Don't like that you charge when you want to share a dish. It's just bloody stupid. Never come across this in all my travels.

Great patio. Delicious Italian food - made really fast. You will have to work to get the bill quickly (normal in Europe).

The Torteloni Tartufo was the single greatest pasta I've ever had in my life. I'd come back to Fussen just for that in itself.

The chef recommendations we had were all nice, including the tuna and swordfish carpaccio and the different seafood entrees we chose. The pizza was also very nice. Some of the staff were friendly and more attentive than others. We understood that we went on a busy night, but two tables who were seated quite a while after us both got their meals a long time before we did. Our appetisers took 70 minutes and our entrees took about 85 minutes to arrive. We asked about the food about an hour in and were told "it's very busy, you need to be patient". Only when we pointed out about the other two tables having eaten did our food arrive. BEWARE; they charge €6.50 for tap water! We questioned it and the woman said "it's not like America, it's normal here". Firstly, we are English and French, not American. Secondly it was our third night in Germany and our seventh time dining out and this was the ONLY place that charged for tap water! The food is also more expensive than anywhere else we ate at in Fussën. Good food but poor service from some of the staff. We went for dessert elsewhere.
