I would like to write about parking lot robbery not regarding store. I want people to be careful in the future. After shopping in the store, I and my family were loading the stuffs at the back of the truck. My daughter was inside the car while the person from another car was stolen the handbag. I was thinking as theft but it is vehicle burglary/ robbery. Thanks God , my daughter was fine and she came out and told us about the snatcher. Tha car was expensive car so don't think some nice car park around you will be safe. It parked not directly in front of your car so the snatcher came out from right side back door and another one was ready to drive. It happened very fast so even a lot of people in the parking lot. Store has security camera and we can see everything clearly but my photos are slightly blurry do to copy. Hope Long Beach Police can do good job. read more

after writing my three star review, the store manager, christine, reached out to me and was apologetic about the lack of selection, especially in the fact that i could rarely find 70/30 ground beef and add to pay significantly extra for the 80/20 ground chuck. i won't say what concession christine offered but it was more than fair and at one point saved me about $64 on a purchase. since then they have updated their inventory to carry more 70/30 ground beef. read more

To anyone who shops here due your homework. There are allot of stuff here more ex than shopping at target and Walmart. Also look at web restaurant and Amazon for the same stuff you get here is cheaper on there site than shopping at this location. Checkout is horrible. I dread going to restaurant depot for this reason. It's not really their fault but I think implementing an expedited checkout with 10 or less items might help move the lines. They tend to have a lot of out of stock or low on inventory items. read more

I tried this place when it opened to retail customers in April 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. You figure a restaurant supplier is selling in bulk like a wholesaler and will have better prices. Some were better, some were not -- seemed like a wash -- so all in all, I didn't see a financial reason to shop here again. The biggest reason I won't be returning, though, was the service. A checkout person billed me twice for one product, which I discovered after getting home, and after two days of phone calls and being told I had to come back in person to fix THEIR mistake, another floor flunky gave me attitude. Lots of reviewers here are not happy with this place's service, and management needs to take heed and do some training because this isn't a matter of one or two dud employees -- it's a systemic issue. read more

First time at this location since the Jefferson one is not Jetro and the Vernon didn't have full line of candies. First, the people here are soo nice - friendly and helpful when we asked questions. Hiring process is horrible . I applied on wednesday & had a interview monday morning for TWO different positions. Over the course of the weekend i got countless emails confirming my email and the morning of i even got a text to confirm i was coming and once confirmed i got a reply back that my confirmation was set. I got there 20 minutes early as requested & waited the whole 20 minutes just to be told the position was filled. No one contacted me to notify me. I paid a total of $60 to get there and back home for nothing. They stated something along the lines of the emails were being sent out & they shouldn't have but i don't understand why you would not fix that or contact me. I had a wonderful experience recently when I returned an item. I first spoke with customer service on the phone and spoke with a sweet young lady. She helped me as best she could and called the Assistant Manager, Arthur. He was courteous, patient and polite. He listened to my problem and was able to go above and beyond in helping me and instructing me how to make the return. When I came in, the young lady in customer service was handling the busy phone, walk-in customers and still politely helped me! Jetro is a pretty great store. They carry most of the things you would need to stock and run your restaurant, food truck, catering company, liquor store, laundry mat...basically almost every kind of business that sells good. It's big and well stocked. The workers were very visible and and helpful whenever we had a question about something. We came here because we were having a crab boil for my mother's birthday and they had the BEST prices for crab legs. Cheaper than any grocery store and Costco. They also have a huge refrigerator section where you can find all sorts of fresh meats, vegetables, herbs and juices. I could've perused this area forever if it weren't so cold! I wanted everything. It is a store for members only and I'm not sure if you have to have some sort of business to become a member. If you're interested in shopping here it might be worth looking into. Another huge plus...they sell THRIFTY Ice Cream. Now I'm not a huge ice cream fan but I do know good ice cream when I eat it. When Thrifty Drug Store was still around that was sometimes the only reason my mother would take us in there, the ice cream. Since Rite Aide bought them, the only reason I go in there is to get Thrifty Ice Cream. It's the best!!!! Some of the staff at Jetro Long Beach is a joke. Very unprofessional. We asked a forklift driver for some help on finding cup lids and then he's looking around doesn't find anything and just takes off, literally. Checkout area is a nightmare. I dread it. I go to the RD in Pasadena pretty much everyday. This one in Long Beach just didn't have same the selection at all. Bread was completely in labeled, which is a no-go for my vegan restaurant. Christine the manager was very unprofessional with a touch of prejudice. Went in to use the bathroom and she makes my mom and 8 month yr old niece wait outside in the cold longer than they had to because I used the bathroom to get in while lines are a one hour wait. I was calm at first but after contacting or should I say text messaging Ruben the regional manager that they were outside, I get a nice response saying they can't please everyone, they should just go back to the car, or we should bring 5 people next time. What an amazing day! I love Jetro I have been coming here for over 4 years & the employees here are nice and helpful. Except for this day. My mom and I was walking in and got stopped by a very rude lady screaming "EXCUSE ME! Where is your card"?! It really caught me off guard, this is definitely new. I always go to the Restaurant Depot in Torrance and go to this location only when I have to if Torrance ran of of things. Everytime I go to this location, I always get the impression that the employees are very slow and busy socializing. Most of the cashiers seem like they do not want to work. I like this cash and carry location. Once you go there a couple of times you start to get in and out a lot faster. Their selection is great but still missing simple things. You can get 90% of what you need right here though. Cashiers are mostly nice too. read more
