If you have any desire to eat tasty, seasoned southern food.....don't waste your time or money. I suggest keep on traveling till you find Southern Bistro. Spend your hard earned dollars wisely. From the terrible run down bathrooms to the overpriced canned food dumped into the feeding trough, to the small cramped dining area with the stained and disgusting fabric cover benches. This makes me hesitate to call myself Southern, what an embarrassment to Southern Cuisine.

I have nothing positive to say about the food and the restaurant is very dirty. Will not eat here again.

Southern cooking done right. A wider variety of heart healthy options would allow me to frequent more often.

We had breakfast there. My husbands omelette was runny and cold. My eggs were hard cooked instead of over easy. Grits was a solid blob

Now the selling point of the whole experience is the banana pudding because this is where I got hooked on it.

I ordered a steak, broccoli and salad. The steak was a perfectly medium rare, very nicely seasoned and delicious! Broccoli was just steamed broccoli, but was still nice and crisp. Salad was small and the dressing was pretty bad. Asked for a different one and it wasn't much better. Very clearly food service bottled stuff. But really, that was the only glitch. Would for sure come back here if I'm in Sumter again.

First off, the crab cakes were loaded with fresh crab, perfectly seasoned, and had this amazing crispy outside. Seriously, some of the best crab cakes ever! The New Orleans shrimp were awesome too - that authentic spicy kick with great herbs and spices, every bite was perfect We also got the Mahi Mahi Club, and it was a solid choice. The fish was grilled just right, and with the fresh veggies, it was super filling Even the sides were great - the coleslaw had a nice tang, the fries were crispy (though a little salty), and the hushpuppies were sweet with real corn in them. Overall, Palmetto Oyster House was fantastic - great food, great quality, and that chill Southern vibe. Definitely check it out if you're craving some amazing seafood!

Our waitress was extremely pleasant and made sure our drinks stayed full. All the food we had was yummy and came out piping hot. My daughter ordered the Togarashi Crusted Carolina Grouper which she said was delicious. I had the Grilled Colorado Lamb Rack, which was also very tasty and my husband ordered the Calabrese pizza, which I tried and was very good too. We really enjoy this place and typically come for brunch on Sunday's and this was our first time having dinner there, we will return. Also not pictured, we had the calamari (8/10), artichoke dip (8.3/10) and bread basket (6.5/10). Only complaint, I hated sitting near the bathroom and I expected more lamb on my plate for the price but overall, I give everything an 8/10.

We struggled with one of the chairs that was missing a glide and rocked terribly. The host just looked on. We ordered a chicken parmesan panini sandwich and the chicken green curry bowl. The chicken panini had potential. It included chicken, roasted tomatoes, ham, arugula and cheese. It would have been great but the grilled focaccia was a little tough to eat- chewy. It came with a side of House made chipotle chips that were very tasty. The chicken green curry was a pretty plate of food. It tasted great though the curry sauce could have been warmer. It was served with a mango coleslaw (more like a salsa) over coconut rice. It may have been the best tasting item that I've eaten in a restaurant in months.

Well maybe I will have better luck with this option. Oh, sorry not tonight. Well let me try over here. Not my first, second, or even third choice but it will do and looks like a solid yes. Excuse me but I am curious are you about to get out of here? No, we are open. The answer given begrudgingly was like we are open but the expression is why are you here we trying to close early. Finally, I found a place that is still open even though it is Applebee's. Hey, the very last option is Waffle House and getting my food through a bullet resistant window. I mean come on you get desperate but not that desperate. So I have not been to an Applebee's in a very long time. I was thinking on a Friday night restaurants should be open until 11/12 PM. Oh I was proven so wrong as my first stop was another casual downing place we will call Silis that rejected me due to it being 1001 so pickings were slim. The last time I did go was because I somehow had a gift card for them. Also it was when they had those $1 drinks. You know it is bad when you sigh as you know what you are about to encounter ranging from customer service, food quality, and cleanliness. Once I was finally noticed at the bar the female came over to ask about a drink. So, I went with a LIT and she handed me a menu that was just wet. I looked over and I still think why did I spend the time on this menu and just went with the riblets to go. The LIT was ok. It was good but did not taste like a LIT. If you want it just for the liquor then you good to go but I do like flavor in my drinks. If someone was to give it to you I am sure you would not guess it was a LIT but it was still pretty ok. Now the secret is to know the bartender. Two of her friends came in and after seeing their drinks made I was like how are they going to drive. Then the drink had a sidecar of tequila to go with the copious amounts of tequila already poured in it. The riblets were ok just like the drink. Good thing is that I was given a good amount and the bbq sauce was a savior. Here is the issue. I get firing up the ribs to get a slight char before serving but the char was very uneven. It was on some of the ribs but not the others. Coleslaw was pretty good and the fries were nothing to write to Yelp about. Still I am here writing about it. What you see and the conversations of the employees here are something to listen to. You have no choice as loud as they are talking. Across from me was a long line of used cocktail glasses that trust me was not just put there. I hear some of the employees talking about how few glasses they have to serve at times and why are there so many cocktail glasses piling up tonight. In my mind the time you spent talking someone could have easily removed them all from the counter. Hey if you got time to lean you got time to clean. Especially behind that bar area. Not a very inviting thing to see especially if it happens to be a customer 's first time in this place. This is one of those situations where I am sure Applebee's knows they are one of the few selections so what's the point of doing better or turning the needle a little bit up on the give a damn meter.
