Easily the WORST experience I've ever had with acupuncture…read more There was a great place in Jackson Heights that I used to go to, but Comuni moved to Forest Hills, so I decided to try Wan-Mei Woo. She says all of 5 words to me before she has me cram myself face down on a medical table. ChinaHerb/Woo does not have the standard massage/acupuncture bed with a face down headrest. Instead they have a flat table and give you basically a hemorrhoid pillow to rest your forehead on. This is awful for a couple reasons: it's claustrophobic and gives no air to breathe, and also, if you have a neck issue, it bends your neck backward in an awkward position. It's not relaxing at all. She, then, uncrumpled some emergency blanket from some corner of the room, threw it over me and left (no mention of how long). Because the walls are not built up to the ceiling, I listen to two competing soundtracks and EVERY word of the other patients' conversations and check-in. The only good thing I can say is that menstrual cycle of the neighboring patient seems to be doing much better today! The doctor comes in and out of the room to grab supplies for the other rooms, but says nothing to me. After a total of 20 minutes, she comes back into my room, crumples up the emergency blanket and stashes it in the corner--I wonder if this thing is ever washed (certainly wasn't washed between my leaving and the next patient being ushered into my room). She asks if I feel better. I say not really. Digging her knuckles into the back of my head, she asks if I feel pain. I say, it's certainly not comfortable. She says, yes, but do you feel pain? I say, well, what you're doing hurts. She asks me to turn my neck from side to side, and says, it's better than when you came in. But the important thing, and the reason Woo is not trustworthy, is because she never asked me to turn my neck when I came in. So, really, she has nothing to compare and she is just fobbing me off. Then she leaves the room. I'm not sure if this means we're done or if she's coming back or what. Eventually, I collect my things and head to the front desk to pay $85 for less than 30 minutes. TLDR: The doctor was rude, the "bed" was not professional, the practice seemed unsanitary, and the experience did absolutely nothing good for me.

High quality service, easy appointment process, and reasonably priced to allow for affordable continual care. Office may not be esthetically pleasing but I believe that how she is able to maintain low rates.

Ok back to this review, here's the biggest issue I had with the place and why you see 3stars. They do not inform you either written or verbally that they charge a mandatory tip on top of the service. So while I was happy to tip at the end usually this is based on the service and up to the discretion of the customer. Again, if it had been written or conveyed to us in some format, that would have been ok and we could have decided what to do; however, at the end of the massage, I handed the lady a large bill to cover two foot massages for 60 min and she gave me change back. Then informed me of the mandatory tip value, I was surprised. More important, what if you bring a certain amount of money that can't cover the surprise mandatory tip at the end? People want to tip a good service, but when you surprise customers and demand it, that's when things can get awkward. I really wanted this to be the place I come weekly and recommend to others, not sure if I can now. Many things to think of regarding this surprise. Ambience - somewhat chaotic if I'm being truthful, many people coming in and out, so dont expect a quiet massage. Many people talking on the phone, customers waiting (watching videos on their phone with the audio on). Clean- better than I expected, bring your own towels if you want and maybe some wipes, because again it is covid season still. Therapists - they are really kind overall, do hard work, but again the tip thing above. This was unclear to us and some others if it was a random thing only told to a few people or if everyone was told about this. No conclusion could be made, you decide. Price - reasonable/average for places in that area. Sadly, this is a legit massage place vs the other odd massage parlours, so that definitely makes it hard to find similar places to try out. Overall, I may return, but that tip/price thing has to be clarified by the owner first.

It's not the fanciest looking place but the massage was great for the price. Even if it's just for a few seconds I think it's important to prioritize customer privacy when we are in such a vulnerable position. Other than this small thing, I enjoyed the massage. The masseuse applied the perfect amount of pressure for me and was overall very friendly and sweet.

I was suffering from daily chronic migraines that would knock me off for days. Galina is very knowledgeable, caring, and extremely genuine. I felt better from the first session. This year, with COVID, there was an added danger of taking steroids and shutting down my immune system and I thought I was completely out of options. I have never tried acupuncture or any kind of eastern medicine before and I've been a skeptic by whole life. I figured I may as well try every available option though, and with a more open mind, I googled to see if acupuncture could work for allergies and saw it could. I called the owner, Galina, and I was in to see her that week. Before I went, I still went to my regular allergist and got a bottle of prednisone in anticipation of needing it. Before we even began, we went over my diet and lifestyle and I was told various things I should do to prepare for this allergy season. I began the acupuncture, and I also did a treatment called Gua Sha. This time last year, I had been on my third dose of steroids, I took three Allegra per day, and I had a regiment of nasal sprays and eye drops every morning and night. All my windows had to be shut for the month of May and I had to avoid all indoor activities. This year, after being at Acupuncture For All, my windows have been open all season, I can go hiking in the woods, and I haven't taken a single steroid. I can't stop telling friends about how amazing acupuncture has been for me. I have a full bottle of prednisone on my counter that I have no use for. I honestly can't believe I went to doctor after doctor for 17 years and no one could help me and just a couple of trips here and I feel cured. It's been amazing. Would recommend to literally everyone for anything.
