Between two jobs and staying active it came to the point where I couldn't ball my left fist and had constant discomfort in my lower back, hips, shoulders and the balls of my feet. After being treated with muscle relaxants and almost completely stopping my caffeine intake (except for small amounts of chocolate and diet ice tea) the symptoms became about 20% better after only the first treatment. I trust this doctor because he has excellent bed side manner and keeps things simple and to the point. I'm looking forward to complete recovery once the treatments are over.

Dr. Abayev uses Xylocaine (Lidocaine) injections to relax the muscles and release the pinched nerves. One shot per week for 5-7 weeks. So far after 4 weeks my neck feels great. Cannot wait to get started on the other pain sites. FYI, Google office hours are wrong. He's open Thurs and Sun 1-3 pm only. No appointment needed. Tip: Arrive at 12:40 to get the first or second spot on the list. You're see in order of arrival. Generally each patient is seen for about 10 minutes so wait time won't be long anyway.

The one who was for Dr. Jake Ni was not so friendly. Yes it was busy and she was swarmed. The way it is set up it is hard to walk thru and find a seat. My appt was for after 2pm and it took an hour to see me. Where going off the x-ray from urgent care they just gave me a cam boot and gave me a prescription for pt, pain pills etc. Instead of taking new x-rays which I don't know if they have on premise anyway this is all that was done and I was told to come back in 4 weeks. Because my experience here left me with a very upsetting demeanor I spoke to my primary and he referred me to a podiatrist in Bayside where I found out I has a medial malleolus fracture. So if I kept going with PT and took the boot off to quick I could have damaged my foot! I'm sure Dr. Ni is a good doctor but please do x-rays in the future

I really don't have much to say about the treatment itself, the therapeutic staff was nice enough. However, a year after my treatment I started getting notifications about bills that they had said were already settled by insurance at the time - including the first visit which I had double and triple checked was covered, and would never had set foot in the door if it were not covered by insurance. I got a call saying that their error meant it was not covered. I walked into their office after a major surgery, was assured it was covered by insurance, walked out after my co-pay being told it was done, and then got another bill a year after the fact. I spoke to their rep and expressed as much was was told "they'd look into it." I cannot distinguish if this issue came about because of incompetence or dishonesty, but neither is a great look.
