Small amount of non-athletic brands like Calvin Klein, Levis, Carhartt, etc. -some sporting good items like skateboards, pads/helmets, yoga/pilates gear, soccer balls, kickballs, and even a random kayak. Definitely not the selection/variety of larger box stores, when it comes to sporting goods, but a fair cross-section. Service/Checkout: -despite visiting the weekend after Thanksgiving (when stores are usually mobbed), Bob's was pleasantly busy. There was very little wait time for checkout, and they had 3 registers open. -both cashiers we interacted with were pleasant and helpful, inputting the 30% off coupon listed on their website (but strangely, missing a barcode to scan). Price: -with all the sales going on this past weekend, Bob's was definitely competitive with other big-box stores. Most everything had a 25% off sale on it, some even higher (my jacket was listed as 50% off). Problem is, with all the signs, it's difficult for the consumer to determine what the final price will ACTUALLY be. -coupons available online and in flyers. Be sure to check online, as they do allow you to double up on coupons and sales. Example: my $100 EMS jacket was on sale for 50% off, then there was a coupon for 30% off any one clothing item. Note, the 30% off comes off of the discounted price (i.e., 30% off of $50). So, I was able to get an awesome EMS jacket originally priced at $100 for $34. Winning. If I'm on the hunt for athletic wear that doesn't scream soccer mom, I'd definitely choose Bob's Stores. She told me there was no return policy. I felt that was impossible. I then ask her for the number so I can call corporate myself. She told me she didn't have a number. There was no corporate number? How could you work for a company and not have a corporate number? Management then stated that if I wanted to smell the items I were purchasing I should go to the nearby Macy's and figure it out. I had to remind her that almost 90% of the fragrances they had in stock where either no name brands or discontinued products. So that was not a solution. It's not like I was spending two dollars. Now that I've got my sizes down I have ordered additional items online which should be in by next weekend. Watch the sales and you can not bet the deals. I now have anything that might need alterations delivered to the store so I get professional input. The service I've received is great. Clothes aren't nice enough to give snooty boutique treatment…read more I brought my 14 year old daughter into this empty establishment full of cubicle clothes, in hopes of being fitted for her 8th grade semi-formal. She prefers to dress like a male, and clearly this bothered the staff there, as they chose to appear too busy folding clothes to make the store any money. The older woman with the accent asked if she could help us, and I said "we're looking for slacks, a shirt and vest for my daughter for her prom". She asked what size slacks, I responded 28", and she informed me that they start at size 30". I followed up with, "what about a shirt and vest?", she replied "for who?, I said "for me", she said, "what size are you?", and I repeated to her that we were there to shop my daughter, who was standing next to me feeling awkward enough as is. The sad thing is, we were at the Boston Pride parade the day before, and my daughter felt so good about herself, then the following day, this clothes folder takes it upon herself to make the conversation as difficult as possible to not assist my child. After we looked through the call-center-special clothes for another minute or so, we realize that we were definitely in the wrong place for what we were in search of. A man with a measuring tape comes out from the back, speaks to the woman that couldn't assist us, then asks what he can help us with. I told HIM, "I'm looking to have my daughter dressed for the prom" he responds with a laugh, "they still have those?".. good one, Don Wrinkles.. I went to the store because for some reason I thought "Jos A" was Joseph Abboud, who is a classy man that goes to the same gym as me. I asked the comedian with the frumpy clothes if Joseph Abboud owned the store and he said they didn't, so we left, as we were clearly in the wrong place.
