Bentonville continues to grow, opening new businesses and hosting big events in downtown. One of…read morethe challenges with that growth is to figure out where all those visitors will park their vehicles. Bentonville is solving that by building parking decks in and around the downtown core. This is one of those decks. The three story deck (one below ground) has some of the spaces marked off for the 21C hotel's valet parking. Otherwise, it's available with some spaces dedicated for other hotel guests and handicapped spaces. Lower level is open on weekdays after 5pm and weekends, the rest are open and this evening, I had no problem finding a space on the upper deck. There is a staircase in the northeast corner. A sign near the entrance indicates how many spaces remain open. I'm not sure if it is able to count the reserved spaces, but it seemed to work fine. There are lights inside. Nov 10, 2025 and I just realized my license expired a few days back. I called the local number and…read morethe polite and professional lady on the other end said I could come in as a walk-in and scan the QR code. (No ticket pulling at the center booth.) She explained the new process of the QR code and waiting to be called to a window. From the time I scanned the QR code at 3:12, to the time I was at the window was quicker than the 4 minutes on the sheet. Granted, I intentionally chose 3 pm because I know most people are scrambling to pick up the kids after school, and it's outside of the lunch hour or the end of the workday. Sita helped me at counter #5 and took care of me so quickly, even with the eye exam with the viewfinder machine. By 3:18, I was on line by the photo area. 3 people ahead of me and I was photo finished by 3:22 pm. The most efficient 10 minutes I've ever spent at a Revenue Office DMV. I asked if the new system was helpful for the staff, and they said that it was. You can see that for yourself, if you get there at 3 pm. I'll never go first thing in the morning before work, because that's what everyone else does. Definitely don't go there during lunch hours, either. I'm glad the new system worked out for me. I feel there is a mix of random stores and businesses here. Lots of parking all around (in front and back) of the mall. I lived in a city that had a similar mall, and here was its fate: the mall closed, even though the larger tenants remained in the building and took over the mall's walking area. This was probably a great place to go several decades ago, but it looks like that time had passed. It's a shame, but that's just the progression of time at work.
