They have been seen AND HEARD by caring, knowledgeable, professional people who are taking the time to educate and help them deal with extremely personal sexualty issues. I do not know all the technical terms but I CAN tell you that after a 17 year battle with many other less sensitive healthcare professionals my child is now becoming happier, more confident, and a mentally healthier individual. My child's patner is also seen here because she has an extreme reaction to needles. Family Tree is the only resource (after 7 other facilities) to supply the accommodation necessary for her anxiety control so a blood draw could be accomplished. The clinic has gone beyond any normal standard of care. Lastly, when visiting, I appreciate the calm attitudes, the unique waiting room, and the educational materials available. It is a SAFE PLACE for all.

I have not used any of their services but instead have been the beneficiary of attending several conferences hosted by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits in this beautiful building. All meetings I've attended here have been held in their auditorium which has a large drop down projection screen with floor to ceiling windows in one half of the room that looks out onto a lovely courtyard. The room is well mic'd for sound and the most recent setup of the room was classroom for 64, with plenty of open space for more room for tables and chairs. They have a covered garage for parking which is a nice bonus.

The only negative I have with them is how they handle their invoicing. They are the only therapy provider that we've ever dealt with (and we've used many over the years) that does not provide date of service detail, nor an indication of whether they've billed insurance and if so how much the insurance covered on their invoice. The problem with this is that if you have an HSA, as we do, then you are actually supposed to keep that detail on hand in case you are audited. What this means is I have to go back and ask them for the detail every time they bill us. Other Dr.s offices give these details automatically. Wilder has at times.

I highly recommend making a shopping date with friends and then hitting coffee afterwards. Bonus: Flying Pig is typically open until 6 pm and Ginkgo 8 pm!! Flying Pig Thrift is staffed primarily by volunteers and everyone is beyond kind. Community resources are available onsite via a bulletin board and the shop supports 3 main non-profit groups. Within the dressing area room, there was a flyer supporting mental health resources and I smiled when I saw it. There are a wide variety of items that shift seasonally and frequently. Items are fairly priced and there are often sales, half price item days and even a permanent sale section in the back. I was really excited to score a denim button up with funky colorful bird designs, a cute yellow bee kind sweatshirt along with a black Nike top. In addition to clothes, there are shoes, cards, jewelry, some handcrafted art, home decor, hospital scrubs, board games, records, magazines and more. Thank you Flying Pig Thrift! The typical format is first doing some songs with your kid followed by an instrument (rhythm sticks, double spoon instrument, tone block, egg shaker, cymbals) and ending with storytime using sounds. Wow, what a wonderful shelter!!!…read more Rather than being in sad cages, all the cats are in rooms - some with other cats if they get along or need some socialization (and some alone if they are divas!) The rooms are all SUPER clean with lots of beds, perches, toys, litterboxes, etc. and the cats all looked very well cared for. They all got turns to come out of the rooms and explore the hallways for a while. The staff were great and very friendly. They knew a lot about the cats and who might be a good fit for the adopter - making sure that every kitty goes to a home that will let them thrive the most. If you are looking for a cat this is 100% a shelter you need to visit. You have to make an appointment but you will most likely have the place to yourself to get to know the cats. Well worth the extra bit of effort (we had recently gone to an adoption event at another shelter and it was so busy and most of the cats were off in "visiting rooms" so you couldn't meet them very well.

I have a special place in my heart for CFC…read more Visiting animal shelters can honestly be depressing, but I used to volunteer here in college and it is the most well-run no-kill shelter I've seen; the cats are living VERY comfortably. Rather than keeping the cats in kennels or cages, the cats can free roam within rooms that are specific to their personality type or medical conditions. There's a big main room for the social cats and kittens, another room for cats that are shy, a third room for cats with dietary restrictions/food sensitivities, and a fourth for kitties who are FeLV positive. The rooms have windows and beds and space for them to move around, which is so nice to see! This is a nonprofit no-kill shelter in a fairly small town so because they are volunteer based, they don't have long daily visiting hours. However you can rest assured that the cats get plenty of socialization and attention. These are very happy, very loved cats :) Staff here are also very active on social media so check out the Caring For Cats Facebook page to see all of the cats and their stories, to donate, or to participate in their fundraising events! If you're in the market for a fluffy new best friend, please consider making the trip CFC!
