And he's very…read moreefficient; I can't think of a single time he needed it overnight even though at that age there were a couple things that seemed involved and would take longer but they still had it back the same day. He also kept another of our cars, a '99 no less, going strong and smoothly until it met an untimely demise. His knowledge of these cars is as immense and his experience is long, he started in a Volvo specifically shop before opening his own many years ago. Even after passing our beloved and reliable Volvo to our high schooler, I looked around and chose another Volvo because I like them and have such trust in our mechanic. Bought used in LA, a couple of unforeseen problems that were quite significant manifest, one serious enough to have me on a flatbed! He straightened them out deftly and the car seems to be running perfect ever since

I told one of the guys who works there I just installed a new exhaust manifold/catalytic converter because of code p0420. Well they took it in anyways knowing they were going to fail me because of a heat shield with 2 bolts blocking the numbers on the cat and expected me to still pay for it LOL. Car passed everything but the visual inspection. When I confronted them about it, the older cat got all ballsy and tried to blame me for it. Told me to go home take it off and bring it back and wanted me to pay double for it LOL. I told him I need the car smogged and registered for the next day and he said I could still do it and I asked him how when they closed in 7 min, he said "Oh, well bring it tomorrow" I told dude straight up to let me borrow some tools and ill take it off real quick, Would take me 1-2 minutes to remove 2 bolts lol he was like "awww I cant let you borrow tools" so I said alright then and walked out. When asked how would I like to pay, I said im not paying for this shit and dude threatened me to call the cops and report the car stolen. I told him go ahead and do what you gotta do and bounced. Sure enough, a while later I got called by LBPD. I explained everything to the officer and he was hella koo about it and understood my frustration. Dude showed him the camera footage of me leaving but not the interaction lol. These dudes are straight up scamming. Hard to find honest and trustworthy people out there these days. I called 2 other shops and explained the situation and they said first thing they would do is check if they can see the numbers, if not, they wouldn't test it and tell me to bring it back without the shield. Now I got a failed test on the car because of these scammers smh.
