Check in was easy with complimentary lockers for keys & phones. There was a shop to purchase dry bags, shoes & your own floats. Your reservation included a mesh bag to put your trash, shoes or personal belongings in. Suggestion: Pack a large zip lock for snacks & another with sunscreen & phone. Both fit in the mesh bag with 2 bottles of water. Tip: A large sign that I was approaching the parking lot would have been helpful. Staff were so friendly and great at answering our questions, as we were new to this adventure. Quick van ride up the river & unloaded with a phone number to call if we had any issues. During the ride you'll listen to a safety presentation. Insider info: you cannot pay extra for the sun to come out or the river to be heated (we asked) We brought our own tubes & for $3 staff would fill them. The rental tubes did not have cup holders, which our friends would have liked. The rental tubes came with straps to connect the tubes. Paddles were provided for all floaters (even if you bring your own tube; you'll want one!). You can also rent a cooler! Life jackets are required & provided free of charge, to borrow. There are places to stop and get out for lunch, rope swing & log jumps. We were on the river for about 3 hours and enjoyed 3 "rapids". July 3 we could have probably floated without stopping in 90 minutes-2 hours. You get out at the parking lot. It's a bit of a walk up and across the field, to the car & tube rental return. Tip: Wear tight fitting shoes! I saw 3 flip flops/crocs floating down the river! Invest in aquasocks!!! My 10 year old said "This is a memory I'll remember forever! I can't wait to share this with my class when I go back to school!!" We bought our tubes at Walmart & they did great. I would say if you have an adventurous younger kiddo (under 7 years) consider a double tube. The friends we were with had kiddos who got a bit scared when we unhooked during the rapids. They weren't scary rapids but the kids had to figure out how to paddle and get back to the group. I have a 6 year old & would love to bring him next time. Oh, and don't leave Fall City before getting a burger & shake at Small Fryes, just across the way from the parking lot.

First, the quality of the ingredients they shipped to me was amazing, from a spiced honey ginger syrup and special bitters blend to candied ginger and dehydrated orange garnishes. We made three bourbon drinks (Woodford Reserve, also included), led by a mixologist from the Seattle area. I especially liked the Holiday in Louisville, which was a twist on a Moscow mule, and the spiced old fashioned. The webcast was well produced, with a couple of folks from our company co-hosting with the mixologist. Overall Leavenworth was well worth the trip. Expectations were exceeded! We enjoyed a beautiful snowy drive with several Christmas movies & Trivia on both ways. The bus was surprisingly filled with people who seemed to be 25+ (a perk for us late 20's) but it would still be enjoyable for kids/teens. We left the SLU around 10am and arrived by 1pm, had time to explore shops and eat two meals, then got on the bus by 6pm and arrive by 8:15pm! It even snowed during our time there which made it extra memorable. Food and drink is super reasonably priced there, compared to Seattle at least. The host was entertaining and friendly. Only knocked off one star for the in-bus bathroom - it unfortunately wasn't the cleanest as was out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer - yikes! The host did walk around with plenty of snacks, water, and hand sanitizer later. Aside from that, everything was seamless! Thanks, Sound Excursions!

They make these little stops along the river and tell you about the area. Blair the owner is a saint and will make sure your time on the river is the best that is possible. The Guides: James Michael is the best looking man in a wetsuit that ever lived, and will keep you safe. Robin is a motivator and is good with people that are meek or first timers. The spread even accommodated my wife's dietary restrictions. We also had the opportunity to swim around in a crystal-clear pool of water that was behind the rock bar. You could go with the mega-sized outfit that probably gets more hits on Google, but I've dealt with those companies. They tend to rush people in and out, and see their operation as more of an amusement park. With Chinook, Shane and Andrea love what they do, and have decades of experience on the river. We read the reviews online and called them to book our adventure. We were treated with kindness and respect from the time that we got there. We signed the requisite waivers and were told that the rapids head tamed down to class three which was very manageable and safe for the family. They outfit you with wet suits and boots and it's suggested that you bring your own hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. Our guy took the time to get to know all the folks that were in our group and arranged us in the raft, according to our age and abilities. My son and his friend sat towards the back of the raft, which turned out to be the safest and driest location. After a short walk-through of expectations and paddling instruction, we got underway. Smooth sailing for the 1st mile or so, and then we hit our first group of rapids. The guy did an outstanding job of keeping us afloat and telling us which side to paddle aggressively, and which side to back off on. Throughout the day, this continued and we hit several more aggressive rapids that were challenging, but a lot of fun. Photographers are located throughout the course and will get some great pictures of your group as you head down the river. They are available for purchase at the end. My family and I were treated with respect and attention to detail in the customer service received was excellent, even going out of their way to place phone calls to verify operation hours for the day for us on the hill. We will definitely recommend this location to all of our family and friends and will be stopping by again next time we are in the area. They do rental tubings in the summer to River flow and snow supplies in the winter for the nearby ski hill.

They have promoted white water…read moreriver running, such as I do with Paddle Trails Canoe Club, as well as flat water such as lakes & sea kayaking. We are very luck in the Seattle area to have NWOC! I just learned about a Meetup group that does a monthly paddle from NWOC combined with having Swedish pancakes at the nearby (about 4 blocks away) Swedish center. Apparently this happens the first Sunday of each month. Several of us from PTCC plan to try that out.

Staff was friendly and helpful with getting people onto the kayaks/boards safely with life jackets and instructions on how to paddle. I think one extra tip that would be good to know is just pointers on how to find the entrance when we come back since we did get a bit lost, the lake is huge! There are also cubbies to store your personal belongings and changing rooms/restroom. Overall I would recommend and come back.

Check in took a bit, there was a long line, and then we had to wait around 15 minutes for the staff to bring out our paddleboards from the boathouse to the launch spot (which of course ate into our 1 hour rental). I believe all of this could have been avoided if we booked ahead! Will definitely be back again next summer, because the spot and the gear is amazing, just hoping the service gets a bit better :)

From the beginning of the journey, Jesse immediately resorted to yelling, swearing at, and belittling our group of 8, which made the group extremely anxious and on edge. This was a cake walk considering Jesse put the entire group in danger by continuing to guide the raft into rocks and forcing group members of a heavier weight to sit on one side of the raft. Needless to say, the boat tipped and one of the members nearly drowned due to his (Jesse) negligence, to which Jesse continued to make jokes about "waivers". Please do not make the same mistake our group did, and request another guide.
