First, did wells. Our condo has been upgraded and for $72/night, you can't beat it! Most of the other people here are residents, so we are meeting locals. We also have in-unit AC, fridge, microwave, stove/oven, but, weirdly no dishwasher. However, in the closet are beach chairs, towels, mats and umbrellas (my mom's unit downstairs has snorkel equipment). Also, there is a pool, hot tub, laundry room and tennis court. I could probably live here. Also, absolutely indispensable is the concierge service! Corbett was able to book us for ziplining and in room massage and he has info on just about everything else. The next times: I found out that the AC is leaking. Also, I had to call to get the correct wifi password, as the one provided was incorrect. And Rentals Maui failed to provide a parking pass until our second day here, which led to the HOA leaving a note on our rental vehicle. Overall, I'd rent again. read more

Please read other reviews. They completely left my pregnant wife and I stranded in the aftermath of the Kona Storm. We are now being forced to pursue legal endeavors, as they refused to refund our stay. When we arrived the sewage was piled up in the streets 10 feet high, sewage strewn all down the driveway. Additional flood warnings were active the morning we arrived and the place was not safe. All of their properties in the South Kehei region, are in what the state has labeled major flood zones. This area floods regularly, however during the Kona Low Storms of March 2026, local papers labeling this a once in 100 years flood, this company did not flag this as a hazardous event. They also refused to provide a letter that we could use to submit for insurance, even after telling us in writing that they would. After we cancelled and found a place on higher ground where my wife and unborn child would be safe. They still rented out the last day of our trip. So they technically still made more money off of the pain they put us though. This company does not care about your safety. You have been warned. read more

Subject: Formal Demand for Refund - Reservation March 17-25, 2026 To Whom It May Concern at Maui Rentals, I am writing to formally request a full refund of $4,505.11 in connection with my reservation for March 17-25, 2026, which I was compelled to cancel due to the severe weather conditions caused by the Kona storm affecting Maui during that period. I. BACKGROUN I purchased travel insurance through Red Sky Travel Insurance in connection with this reservation. When I filed a claim for my prepaid, nonrefundable costs, Red Sky denied coverage in part by citing representations from Maui Rentals that the rental unit was available and habitable. I am contacting you directly because I believe that characterization, even if technically accurate in a structural sense, does not reflect the totality of conditions on the ground -- and because I believe we can resolve this matter without further escalation. II. BASIS FOR REFUND The Kona storm caused documented, widespread disruption to Maui's infrastructure, transportation systems, and public safety during the exact dates of my reservation. Travel to and use of the destination was not reasonable or practicable for any prudent traveler during this period, regardless of whether a mandatory evacuation order was formally issued. I stayed at the Kamaole Sands, #2-301 for a week in March 2023 and it was one of the best experiences I have had! The unit was clean, comfortable and full of amenities. And I have stayed at a lot of places in Kihei! There were ample supplies such that I didn't need to buy them myself. One nit-picky thing I look for in a rental unit is how tight the drawer and door pulls are as well as how smooth cabinets and drawers open and close. It sounds silly, but if those tiny details are addressed by the management group then I'm comfortable that the major items are, or will be, as well. Lots of good quality linen in the unit. too, Not the cheap stuff. I will definitely look to rent this particular unit in my future travels to Maui. read more

Aloha, I am the owner of Shores of Maui unit xxx. Last week, I had a guest in the condo who told me that there was a lot of noise coming from the condo next door. It went on most all of the day. There were loud yells and banging on the walls. She was out most of the day, but coming home and having it go on at all hours at night made it difficult for her to sleep. I contacted the resident manager to ask if he would put a note on the door reminding the tenant of house rules - quiet time is 10pm until 8am. He informed me that there had been disruption at the pool as well, and that he did not think the guests spoke English. We agreed that he would write a note and use Google translate so that the guest could read the reminder. The guest in my condo left. A few days later, I went into (my condo) to leave a something for my incoming guest, and heard the noises. It was the middle of the day. Very loud yelling and banging on the walls. I contacted the resident manager again, this time asking for contact information for the owner of the unit. I was given the name of your company, Rentals Maui. I asked the resident manager if he would contact you, he said he did and was told that there was "Nothing you could do". At that point, with guests arriving that evening, October 1st, I called your office. A very helpful person who was the bookkeeper, told me the office was closing, but that she would find someone to ask what could be done in a situation such as this. She told me that a complaint would be noted, and that I could call back in the morning and speak to David. I called on October 2nd AND on October 3rd, leaving messages for David. It is now October 4, and I am yet to hear from your office. I am fortunate, in that I found, at my expense, a place for my guests to stay. There is no way to sleep in my unit 123. The noise goes on throughout the evening. I am not sure what angers me more, that you have done nothing to ask this guest to be quiet, or that you have not made any effort to call me back. As an owner of multiple properties in Kihei, I have been approached by your company offering me Property management. Is this how you operate? Not returning calls? I am so glad I made the decision to NOT use your services. I know the owner of your property, and he and I have helped each other out in the past with both maintenance and rental space issues. The Shores is a small property and as a community we often help each other out. Needless to say, your not contacting me at all, has made a difference in that relationship. I found this wonderful website and I found that it was cheaper booking on rentals Maui than VRBO for the same unit. The staff is externally professional and I mostly talked to one of the staff named Kristen and She was super helpful the whole way. This company is amazing. read more

Wow beautiful looking website but whats the point ? I'm looking for a short term rental on Maui in January and February. I get plenty of results, all with "unit not available" in red . It enables me to check the dates I want an it brings up dozens of results and I found plenty with blocks of days showing as available but when I try to request a quote I get the same unit "not available" message. Then if I hit the booking tab I can book it but it doe"st give me the price. so is it 149 a day or 179 thats a big difference over 60 days. I know its a busy time of year but really? Not one unit of any type, at any price, of the hundreds of properties are available? I'm flexible on my days and for the time I'll be spending there I wouldn't mind changing units or properties but it has no such options very poorly designed and frustrating website. read more

Rentals Maui- This truly is AS GOOD AS IT GETS Unite: Maui Sunset #A-204 Absolutely BEAUTIFUL unit!!! Fully stocked and I mean FULLY! From beach gear to towels to linens to soaps even an offiice desk with paper, pens, pencils, stuff for oil paining (which mom loved and even left a painting she painted as a gift) Kitchen was fully stocked. Plates dishes pots pans. You name it. Basically it was like my home here (which is also a condo Im currently buying) Even utensils and plates were in the exact same drawers I keep mine here at home! It was like I picked up my own condo here and took it with me to Maui!! THe property was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! I cant pick the highlight of this place. Too hard to choose from. Torches on the property were lit at night making it a true tropical paradise. And next comes the grass....oh wait.....what did I just say....grass???? Is that real grass???? Looks so good to be real it must be fake.... But NO.... its REAL. OMG I can go on for hours about Rentals Maui but I better stop now. Kathy was terrific and answered all my questions. All staff was very kind and helpful. My only regret: Having to leave. Rentals Maui is definately on my 1st top list and highly recommended. Great price too. Deposit was very helpful in finances. Buyer Beware: The weather and location was good- Do not rent from Rentals Maui!!! Major development one block away- Ongoing for the next 2 years- Early morning construction noises every day, dust and dirt continuously- into the rental units- Condo which we rented was dated and filthy! We had the management change the stained discoloured pillows, pillow cases, and bed covers. Unit # 238 The unit was ill equipped- no kettle, basic kitchen utensils, small frying pans with no lids, cracked dinnerware. Very little counter space and areas to put your clothes- The deck was filthy- and stained Window coverings were stained- and dirty The sliding door to the deck was original and off track- And filthy- hadn't been cleaned in years. The front door is original and didn't close or lock I know the price is low, and it shows it I called to complain ( for a second time about problems while we were there- and they said management would be over- no show- Make sure you check everything out, as the first thing when you check in- as we found out- later than sooner! Rented a two bedroom, two bathroom condo from Rentals Maui from April 2 -15 2018 in Kana'i A Nalu unit #311. The lock box was so difficult for us to operate we had to get someone to come down and open for us, which they did. The internet went down, and it took a couple of days to get fixed, but once that occurred, everything was fantastic. The condo was in a perfect location, and so well appointed! We had everything you could possibly need on a holiday; basically everything you have at home, no shortcuts. The complex and condo are nicely furnished and decorated, VERY well stocked and maintained and exceeded my expectations as I wasn't expecting much from a rental company. The only con, was that the only way to get any AC in the bedrooms is to keep the bedroom doors open and even then, it was pretty hot and sometimes to the point where it was difficult for us to sleep in, despite the ceiling and desk fans provided. But, I would still rent there again anytime despite that. Two more bedroom ACs would make this place perfect! read more
