Totally defrauded me. In 2022 they delivered a tv and dropped it while doing so. They insisted on continuing the install, I was promised a full credit for the return months later after going back and forth. My request for the credit to be honored or a refund be completed is now with the district manager. The staff of this location is extremely unprofessional and will be entering into litigation if the district manager does not honor what the company rep said they would do. They have had my funds for years and I have had no product. read more

Horrible Service @ Rent-A-Center / San Pablo It took over 6 weeks to receive my purchased items, This was only after I had to call corporate office, since I kept being left on hold when I called the store. Spoke the 2 different District Managers, one of which assured me that I would receive my items in that weekend. Items never showed up. After about 15 phones calls, I finally was able to reach the store manager, only to get yelled at because I called corporate on them. Yet another delivery date was set. Guess what, Nothing came. 4 delivery dates were scheduled, and no actual delivery was made. NOT A CALL FROM THE STORE TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT. NOT ONE. I was in the retail business in the past, so I understand how frustrating it can be when short staffed. Also, understand how the Upper Management refuses to see the store needs. -Tip, San Pablo Management- Take care of the customer with money on hand. A simple phone would have prevented any negative outcome. More than likely would have worked something out. Positive- I've purchased in Rent-A-Center near the San Jose area, about 6 times in the past l, never experienced anything like this. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for listening :-) read more

This location is absolutely terrible - Please try to use another RAC location if you are doing business with them. We are currently trying to get in contact with their corporate office in Plano, Texas to alert them to investigate this particular location. We rented a dining set and twin bed set in June '21. On the delivery date everything was delivered - The dining set was fine; but the twin bed set was the wrong order, we contacted RAC on the same date as the delivery and they agreed to return and pick up the twin bed (no bedroom set as originally ordered, just a cot). We made the first scheduled payment for the dining set and on the same day, we received a text and call asking for payment on the "bedroom set." We have explained on numerous occasions that the bedroom set was returned to RAC on the same day it was first delivered. We have been put on long telephone holds, unable to speak with a manager, told that they have no records of employees that we have spoken to and no records. read more

#TheGrinchThatStoleChristmas HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Asked to speak with the manager, was told it would be a 30 minute wait, No Prob. Manager comes in and helps a Hispanic fella, but doesn't ever come and talk to me about the ONLY Sectional (floor model) that they had for sale/rent or whatever. $641 is the selling/renting price, but all the manager could do is send another message via the Sales girl $449 is the BEST You can do. The best you can do is come pay the customer some attention about the merchandise you're selling, clean it up on your down time (not like the store was crowded). Definitely contacting Corporate, hence the reason I took 2 (two) photos. POOR SERVICE AND POOR CONDITION OF FURNITURE, that could've possibly have been in someones home for the Holidays. - Ya Digg? read more

The "manager" at this location is absolutely horrible. She has the WORST ATTITUDE i have ever dealt with. She has no idea how to speak with someone. With covid going on and everything she really should be more considerate. My daughter was in icu so I missed a payment and she told me to leave my daughter there and make communications with her. I'm sorry my daughter is going to come before anything. I did the best I could but this woman is a disgusting manager. She really needs to be retrained. read more

Horrible experience. It's been days since my delivery date with no communication from a manger or anything. I come into the store just to find out they don't have my couches and they never were ordered for pick up yet they were paid for up front. The manager Jahara was very rude and had no knowledge of anything and couldn't give me an answer. She then proceeded to yell and tell me that they will just refund me my money. Very unprofessional and lacks customer service!! read more

I have done a lot of business with the one in Oakland and I have never had a problem. But these guys in San pablo/richmond Are the most unprofessional ,rude people I have ever done business with it took them a week to verify my references I will never go here again NEVER GO HERE!!! Manager and employees need to watch their tone with customers. Very rude and abrasive

Poor customer service...I order bedroom set in November it's going on April I haven't heard anything an when I called to asked I was told to order something else..oh an it will take another 6-8weeks for delivery... read more

I ordered a bed around Thanksgiving in store and it is still nowhere to be found as of March 23rd 2022. When I called this morning Ramon said there was no bad ordered. When I went to order the bed the customer service was very unfriendly and I don't see why they didn't order my bed but I would not recommend going here read more

Where do I start. If I could, I would give 0 I would. Very Unprofessional. I'vr been lied to for several days about my items being delivered. Called several times & spoke with more than 1 employee. My belief is that they are paid to hush customers and tell them anything to quiet their mouths about complaining. Today is Saturday & they are closed on Sunday. Monday morning I will be canceling my contract! read more

Rented a fridge for a month to accommodate extra family staying with us over the holidays. I paid up front, and everything seemed to be going great: delivered and picked-up the fridge on time, staff was very polite... Except, they've been calling me about twice a week for the past month saying I have an outstanding balance on my account. Each time I've corrected them, reminding them that I did a short-term rental, not rent-to-own, and that I already paid in full. They check and say, yes, that does appear to be the case, we're sorry, we'll note this in your account. This is the routine every time and yet they still keep calling. They're very nice about it, but something's going wrong with their system and I wish they'd figure it out. I'm especially worried that if they don't correct their records, it'll mess with my credit score. read more

I don't like to write bad reviews but I cannot help it here. This place sucks big time!!!!!! Worst of my Covid year! Our experience was awful!! We rented a recliner for one month for my husband post-shoulder-surgery. First, it came late, missing parts. Second the headrest smelled of strong hair tonic (gag). We had it picked up early, before the month's term ended. Then we were charged for two additional months' rent. I disputed it with the bank and RAC. One month's rent was credited. Then I spent 2 1/2 more months calling (at least a dozen times) and speaking to staff - Miguel was sweet, professional but ineffective, Bosslady Jennara just gave me a variety of excuses and never was of help. I was told over and over I'd get a call back with resolution but never did. I was always polite and kind on the phone until they started cutting off my calls before answering! Then I just said I'm giving up and calling the bank about fraud. Jennara didn't care. I would never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never recommend doing business here unless you are a complete masochist and want to waste lots of time and money!! read more

Went in today to buy a couch, table and living room set. Literally 3000 in cash. Well while starting my order a set of hispanic ladies walked in and the Hispanic guywoman Miguel that was helping me said hold on sir. Literally apologize like 7 times because for the next hour he is attending her needs because she has cash. Little did he know this black man has 6 figure income and only went to rent a center for the delivery. I waited for more than a hour, I got my I D back called his manager and let her know that was the most unprofessional thing I have witnessed in a long time. Quit judging black people ... we are your biggest customers. O well guess I'll order from living spaces online. read more

I personally had a great experience here. The manager and employees were all super helpful and knowledgeable and made our trip very easy! Not to mention we got a great deal on a couch and loveseat set we wanted. The delivery of my items was exactly within the timeframe they gave and they were courteous and careful with my items/property. All I can say is don't judge completely based off reviews, go experience the location yourself! Had I decided to go to a different location based off the negative reviews I read, I would have missed out on a great experience. 5 stars! read more

Honestly I wouldn't even rent here, we were planning on doing the 90 day same as cash to get a couch here and spoke with Miguel and he said he was gonna call us back, we ordered online and everything. A few days later we call to see an update and his "MANAGER" answers the phone and is talking to my spouse about it, I hear her say "well we already sold it because someone came in with cash down" I was in the background pissed off because first her attitude was all kinds of messed up, I was saying in the background because I was pissed "Why tf wouldn't they have told us that? We wasted our time because when she spoke with Miguel he said he'd call us back and never did" and because I was cussing out of frustration she said "my husband" was cussing at her, I said No I was pissed and started cussing because of the situation not at her, and I wanted to know what her name was but she hung up the phone. I call back and Miguel answers and says that's his boss at this point IDGAF if that was your wife. Y'all are unprofessional, get your sh** tf together. If people are willing to pay cash and the 90 day same as cash you should help them out. Now I'll call corporate to complain. I'll even come down to Rent A Center If I have to, to let them know they need to change their attitudes. read more

The guys and gals at the San Pablo rent a center are really quite super in my humble opinion. I had an emergency situation in which I needed 5 mattresses by the end of business day, and gave them a call at 11 AM. Brad (the manager) was very kind and patient and rushed me through their application process. Low and behold, by 4:40pm, Keith met me at my property and helped me in bringing in all 5 mattresses. Both Keith and Brad were extremely pleasant, friendly and professional. I understand that there may be some negative reviews towards this Rent A Center, but all I can say for anyone who shops here, is to treat the employees the way you would like to be treated. Fairly, with patience, and like a human. RAC, please give these guys a raise. They really helped me out in my last minute jam. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RENT A CENTER SAN PABLO. If I could give it less than one star I would. A big fat ZERO. The store "manager" Ronesha is unprofessional and rude. When asked for her name she initially wouldn't give it, nor would she give the name of her district manager to complain about her unprofessionalism. So we had to call the corporate office. Come to find out her district manager's name is Bryan, and we will be talking to him as soon as he calls back to let him know about her conduct and switch locations if possible because San Pablo is TRASH. My husband ended up calling her a bitch over the phone because her ghetto ass went off on him about a payment issue and wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise when he had questions about his account. Her response was "your momma". I don't care how unruly a customer gets, if you're a manager you should be able to conduct yourself as one at all times. This woman Ronesha doesn't know how to act like one under any circumstance, let alone a heated one. NEVER give a hood rat a "manager" title. This is exactly what you're gonna get. An unprofessional, uneducated shit talker that thinks she's the president of the United States if anyone reads these Yelp reviews DON'T GO THERE. Read the majority of the reviews on here. ALL BAD. There's a reason for that. It's not EVERY SINGLE customer with the problem. It's the management. read more

Never again! I reserved a laptop with John and I told him all the items that I HAD to have. He confirmed that the product had all of that so I began the process. Upon receipt of the item I find out that one of the programs that I needed for school is not in the laptop. Now everyone in the store tells me that it never had the program! When I try to return it I am told that I can't get a refund because the regional manager will not allow it. On their website is states that there is a worry-free guarantee for refunds. Return it within the first week of possession and you get your money back. Thank God for pre-paid legal cause now I have an attorney on this! read more

I have NEVER had a problem with the management or the people inside the store... when I first came into the store I was greeted by one of the managers (female)... since then, her (and another female "Daisy") are the ONLY ones that I deal with. Since October of last year, I've purchased a couch, 2 televisions, a laptop and a tablet... 3 out of the 5 items are paid off and I'm paying to own the remaining two items. I'll agree, the phone calls that you get sometimes are pretty rude... this is why I only deal with the people I met with in the beginning. If you're honest with them and tell them EXACTLY what's going on, they are MORE THAN WILLING to work with you. I don't feel like I'm being ripped off, they have ALWAYS repaired my items, and given discounts for any type of damaged item they sell. What more can you ask for? You signed a contract, how about you read it and abide by it! If you're late, they will call... you don't answer, they will leave messages and come get their items... it's not rocket science! If you have better credit, you should apply for a credit card and go elsewhere... these people are still in business and I'm glad they are! Great Job! read more

Never will I ever go through these people. Janelle the manager at the San Pablo store is incredibly rude and very unprofessional. I honestly don't know how she is a manager of an establishment with her tone and how she treats people. You lost my service! They also stole money off of my card and are claiming they don't know what happened. LIARS!!!! After speaking with Miguel and confirming my delivery date, they told me that my date was change to 3 days later without letting me know, so when I called to see where my furniture was, they gave me the run around. This store is a joke. And I hope corporate does something about the level of professionalism they have, and replaces them with loyal workers because this store is horrible. Again, Janelle the store manager is horrible at being a manager, who doesn't know how to speak to customers. I should of read these reviews too see how horrible their store service was. I would have never applied for a couch. Long story short, DO NOT GO THROUGH THEM. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. AND THEY WILL STEAL MONEY STRAIT OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT! read more

I have been a customer for many years. I have purchased: sofas, coffee tables, refrigerator, tvs, dishwasher, netbook and surround sound system and RENTED: tvs, washer/dryers, gaming consoles, laptops and a desktop over the course of several years. I have a TV under my name for my husband ("it was on sale") and we are now a week late on payments and they showed up at my door to repossess the TV. They didn't get it, but couldn't wait until monday since my ach deposit is late. I'm upset because I'm a long time customer and have given them a lot of business and referrals. The majority of my items are purchased at the 90 day cash price and this is the first where I'm riding out the full payments term (hubby prefers the $25 payments) shame shame shame! May have to take my entire business to aarons. I did just pay another TV off with them too. Bye rent a center! read more

I've came here a few times and have purchased. It was always from the same lady, she was okay. Today I came back after a while and there was a new girl. When we asked questions she would answer in a way that she was too forced and too lazy to answer. I've had those days at work too but she wasn't even trying. When we were choosing a tv, she was giving us the one on the shelve. Covered in dust, finger prints on the screen. We asked if we can get the new one in the box, And she responded "Uhm I would have to retype everything" We apologized and she stayed quiet and didn't say anything. It seemed like it was too much work for her, but It is her job and we ARE the ones who are PAYING for a tv. I have never given a bad review and always try to look at the good of everything. But this whole experience was uncomfortable. read more

I had gotten one item from this location paid it off.And then I was paying on some additional items on time until near the end and the last payment I was harassed about for being late. I initially wasn't even told that i could make my last payment of $217 until this nice gentlemen Mike told me. before that they were asking for $263 and then another $263 for another two weeks. What a rip off. no empathy. I would rather go with out then take this route again. POOR SERVICE!!!!!!!!! read more

This location is extremely unprofessional. Our application was lost, come to find out a manager shredded it for no apparent reason. Supposed to have a couch delivered last weekend. Didn't get a phone call. Called them, they told me there was no driver available and that they were going to reschedule it to Monday. Monday comes and the couch was supposedly taken out of its plastic by a worker. Even after all of this my wife and I decided to still take the couch. Then over the phone the representative asks us what floor we are in in our apartments(3rd floor). She then states that it's going to be too hard since their moving helpers are women. read more

Rent A center is the worse store you can take your business to. They never have merchandise that you want and they treat you like going to steal something from them. I originally purchase a set of couches but they didn't have in the store. So the manager send me a different ones and say that in 3 month my sofas was gonna come in. 6 month went by and nothing I call them ask them what happen. The manger said i am sorry Ashley's don't make those sofas no more. I was really upset because we was making payment on them. Then a week later new manager came in and call us in to come and help fix the problem. So my husband and i came in talk to a the Manager Dean which promise to get us some sofas at a better price. Two week later he call for the payment on the account i ask where was the sofas that they have promise us. He insulted me and say that i was taking advantage of the situation. I was really upset because he accuse me something when his store haven't got us what we want it for 6 month and still take our money. So my husband and I when down to the store to get thing straight because our patient was running out we felt like we was getting played. After 30 minute of argument Dean tell me that he doesn't have to talk to me and he doesn't have to say sorry to me because i was a women. But he did apologize to my husband told him that he didn't want to talk to me at all. I felt discriminated for being a women. He literary left me talking to my self. It was the worst experience ever. He also made racial comment against Mexican and African- American. read more
