They liked talking to each other at the counter. An odd business that doesn't understand customer service. Nor do they seem to be very enthusiastic about their products. They had a good variety of wood, but I wasn't impressed with some of the cut quality. I wish their management luck, the place has good potential. Just need to retrain and rehire staff.

I come and and the guy rings the bell for will call. Wait 5 minutes and no one comes. Ring again. Someone comes. He spent 10 minutes trying to find my order and couldn't. Then I had to wait 15 minutes in line and then someone wrote up my order and I went to pay for it. They told me I had to drive somewhere a few blocks away to pick up my items. Fine. I did that. And I get there and they say they are out of stock of 3 of my four items. Why did they just sell me out of stock items and not tell me. Now I have to call on the phone and convince them I didn't actually get the three items I paid for and they need to credit my card. I didn't have the time to drive 2 blocks and back wait in line again. Update: they don't take phone calls on the weekend, even though they are open. !!?! And all of this took an hour, which should have taken less than 5 minutes and completely messed up my whole day of scheduled events.

I would not do business with DHC Supplies (Sparks, NV) again. I ordered Sika sealant from them and…read morespent hours prepping and caulking under sliding doors, etc. I've used Sika products before (they're great) and knew what to expect. I realized the sealant was not curing properly--it remains tacky and hasn't set up for days. When I checked the expiration date, the product was 8 months past expiration! (Expiry date hidden on caulk tube plunger disk inside tube.) So they are selling way-expired product that does not perform properly. I called Sika and talked with a technical rep. He said if it doesn't set up within a week, I need to scrape it all out and start over with fresh sealant! And even if it does set up, he was uncertain about the long-term performance of the expired product. This was unacceptable negligence by DHC Supplies.

I live a half hour from the yard so I call the woman who helped me at the counter when I ordered it and she said that the freeway is crawling because of an accident. As she is talking I open Google Maps and it says 31 minutes and the road is clear. I confronted her and that's when she got very defensive because I was about to foil her plan to keep the cash and rack up my credit card with trips back and forth from Sparks to Fernley. We arrived a little before 3pm on a Saturday. They are open until 4pm on Saturdays. You are able to go into their warehouse where the building materials are nicely organized. They definitely seem to have a wider selection than the big box stores which we appreciate. We were told this location has been open about 6 years. Once you find the products you are interested in you go into the office for pricing details. They also offer delivery for a very reasonable price.
