They liked talking to each other at the counter. An odd business that doesn't understand customer service. Nor do they seem to be very enthusiastic about their products. I tend to forget to check this place out when I'm in a dire need of a home improvement item. I am not in the area much, but when I am I tend to find a lot of cool goodies. They do have a small section of thrift household items but overall they carry pretty new and lightly used items. Think of home depot returns, left overs from an over stocked store or even from a job site or home project. Anyways their mission statement and good they do and bring into the community is something I support. So in the future instead of tossing new/lightly used/good condition home items, see if they'll take it. If not come by and check this place out if you are doing some home or business renovations. I have picked up quite a bit of useful stuff for my home and new business. Everything from cleaning solutions to a brand new toilet plunger. Friendly and helpful staff along with customers.

I come and and the guy rings the bell for will call. Wait 5 minutes and no one comes. Ring again. Someone comes. He spent 10 minutes trying to find my order and couldn't. Then I had to wait 15 minutes in line and then someone wrote up my order and I went to pay for it. They told me I had to drive somewhere a few blocks away to pick up my items. Fine. I did that. And I get there and they say they are out of stock of 3 of my four items. Why did they just sell me out of stock items and not tell me. Now I have to call on the phone and convince them I didn't actually get the three items I paid for and they need to credit my card. I didn't have the time to drive 2 blocks and back wait in line again. Update: they don't take phone calls on the weekend, even though they are open. !!?! And all of this took an hour, which should have taken less than 5 minutes and completely messed up my whole day of scheduled events.

I would not do business with DHC Supplies (Sparks, NV) again. I ordered Sika sealant from them and…read morespent hours prepping and caulking under sliding doors, etc. I've used Sika products before (they're great) and knew what to expect. I realized the sealant was not curing properly--it remains tacky and hasn't set up for days. When I checked the expiration date, the product was 8 months past expiration! (Expiry date hidden on caulk tube plunger disk inside tube.) So they are selling way-expired product that does not perform properly. I called Sika and talked with a technical rep. He said if it doesn't set up within a week, I need to scrape it all out and start over with fresh sealant! And even if it does set up, he was uncertain about the long-term performance of the expired product. This was unacceptable negligence by DHC Supplies.

Maybe too early in the season, but we wanted to see what they had and hoping to take some home.. Unfortunately,only two piles today, but one pile had very nice color on the rocks.. Most were too big to haul home, but a nice guy with the backhoe asked if we needed help. We asked if he could move the bigger boulders so I could pick the smaller ones to bring home. After all of that, when we checked out, the price was almost doubled from last year.. $41 .. Back home now.. will unload when it gets a little cooler!

I get a text from the driver who said leaving now be there in 1.5 hours. I live a half hour from the yard so I call the woman who helped me at the counter when I ordered it and she said that the freeway is crawling because of an accident. As she is talking I open Google Maps and it says 31 minutes and the road is clear. I confronted her and that's when she got very defensive because I was about to foil her plan to keep the cash and rack up my credit card with trips back and forth from Sparks to Fernley.
