They advised us to call Anderson for new builds. We didn't want to go any further with them because I didn't see what I was looking for on the website. A few days later I have 11 voicemails from people at Renewal by Anderson. Frustrated I answer one and I'm connected with Isaac. I told him that it was already determined that they don't have what we want and to please stop calling. He asks what we were looking for and I tell him. He says "oh of course we have that!". At this time I'm seriously doubting him, but whatever. Scheduled a contractor to come out and take a look. Contractor gets to our house. He's friendly, knowledgeable but doesn't agree with what I want. He wants to put a $10k door and sidelight where I have a french door planned. The initial rep was a pleasant lady who, when she realizes we were not going to buy the windows, cared deeply about us giving her a 5 rating for her presentation. We did not give her this. My husband received a call from someone at RBA who used high pressure sales tactics to get us to change or mind. When my husband said no, the rep became billegerint. Renewal by Andersen was a great experience overall. Yes, the prices can be a bit on the high side, but you're getting quality service and quality materials, so it's absolutely worth it. After horrific struggles with Home Depot and Lowe's with multiple failed orders for two entry doors, we switched to Renewal to give them a try. Calling to schedule a consultation appointment was very simple. Within the next week, our Design Consultant Gerard came over and we had a lengthy discussion about our options for both doors and the process it'll take to accomplish the task. Like I said earlier, it costs a good amount of money, but with the current state of steel door backlogs and incompetence of "chain" stores, we just wanted this done. A couple weeks later we had the official measuring tech, Thomas, out to measure the exact dimensions of what we needed, as well as other accessories. A couple months went by while the door was being constructed (yes, sadly Renewal by Andersen cannot escape supply chain difficulties either), but that was okay because we had a good feeling that they'd be correct this time. We were patiently anticipating the outcome of this journey. We received our call of when the installation would be and had our fingers crossed that everything was correct. A man arrived to install both door, which was quite impressive that he was going to do both, all the side work required, as well as removal of the old doors. First thing was first, that I went out and made sure the doors would fit where they were supposed to go and luckily, they were perfect fits! He went through and installed both doors in a few hours, just before the storm hit! We were very impressed with the results (pictures attached) and it was well worth the wait. Bottom line, Renewal By Andersen is more expensive, but their quality, handling of service, and product selection is top of the line, so it's incredibly worth it! I had a consultation back in April. They qouted me $35000 and suggested financing. The financing would not go through because of the deed. They assured me the quote would be on file for 6mths while I figured out the deed. Sometimes things happen for good reason.In late August I developed significant health issues and had to stop working. I went to my son and the home owner to help pay for the project. They insisted on other estimates. They found a company that would install Anderson windows at half the price. The homeowner decided to go with them. The salesman cconstantly called. I decided to give him the courtesy of explaining we were not going forward with them. BIG MISTAKE!! The salesman. Informed me that I was responsible for paying for the windows. Even though it was based on receiving financing. They never did measurements, never scheduled an install date. Yet tgis man said "They have your social, They are gonna come after you" . READ THE NENEGATIVE GOOGLE RERECIEWS!!! We hired Renewal By Anderson to replace 3 old Anderson windows, 1 old Anderson patio door and a front entrance door. The total job cost was $39,000. Upon installation, the wood that was used was the poorest quality, containing actual HOLES and saw blade marks that would never be able to be sanded out. After taking a phone video with them, they agreed to replace the wood in all 3 windows and the sliding glass door. I was told by salesman that the only was to have Anderson windows was through them. He LIED!!! We needed additional windows replaced so I searched and found out that Anderson windows are sold through private window companies. I contacted Antcliff Windows & Doors in Burton, MI and they just finished installing 4 Anderson windows and 1 Anderson patio door. BEAUTIFUL wood. Just what I expected from the name Anderson. The good of our Renewal by Andersen windows is the black windows we purchased look very nice installed and people comment on them all the time. The negative is the medicocre attention to detail on the installation and the slow response to service. We have had misfit windows particularly on our doorwall that actually had snow accumulating on the interior so the pitch that they make the windows to fit is not showing up in this purchase....mis-sized screens and now we have found another window accumulating water. We will look to see if they can do a correct fix on this but shimming is poor fix for 45k worth of windows that should have had better attention to detail. David K read more

The salesperson came to my house and I showed him the door I was looking to replace. He looked at the door to examine and then he asked what type of door I was looking for. I don't know, that is why I called them. I wanted for him to show me what they were offering so I can decide as the customer if I wanted to do business with them. He said that you have a builder grade door and if you are looking for that, we are not the company for you. Wait...why would you say this? Almost as if I am looking for a cheap product and I can't afford what they have. Had a job interview a few weeks back to be on their sales team. I drove all the way from Lansing to Grand Rapids for this interview. Interview was an hour long and the person who interviewed me was on his phone the whole time. He didn't answer any of my questions. They sent an email the next day saying they found a different candidate , yet the job posting is still on indeed and LinkedIn. They also had 0% for 5 years, which helped stretch out the payments. The installation team showed up in matching shirts with the Detroit D on them. They were all very friendly gentlemen and I felt comfortable with them in my home. The installers took their time covering my furniture and moving anything in the way of them completing the job. We love our new windows. We've been waiting a while to save to get our windows, because I only want to replace windows once in the house. Our salesperson Keith Prill was thorough in his presentation, explaining the materials and demonstrating the difference between vinyl and fiberglass windows. Our installers Bryan Laboe, Mike, and Joe were professional and took their time making sure the installation went smooth. They demonstrated how to properly use the windows and we've already received many compliments from the neighbors. It was great getting to talk with my installers and salesperson and knowing they live and work here in the area. We are proud to say we own Andersen windows. In closing, I would say if you're considering replacement windows, the best value for your money is Andersen. If you want to go through the whole process in 5 years down the road then go with vinyl. Overpriced! The saleswoman said we would not hear much outside noise when the windows were closed, not true at all. Many of the replaced windows have air flowing in. We had someone out to look at a couple windows and he offered no help. Bought 4 Anderson doors and they were all missing parts had a company come to install them and couldn't have it done right because of this issue, called and emailed back and forth and was assured they would solve the problem... several days later they tell me they can't help me because the doors were purchased from Home Depot but all the stickers say to not return to store and to contact them directly! There is no choice but to give a flunking grade to this company in the category of customer service. I had my home windows & sliding doors replaced by them more than two months ago in mid May. During installation some of their staff were aggressive & argumentative. Also installation had some discrepancies as compared to what the salesman had promised. I had to find quality issues myself with the installation. These included damaged screen, damaged wall paint, missed caulking, and hard to lock sliding door. After a few calls service appointment was made in early June. I had to rearrange my work schedule to be able to stay at home. They fixed some of the issues. But, however, the had delivered incorrect size replacement screen. I was told that they would redeliver in few weeks. That didn't happen. Ever since early June my calls & emails were not returned. My most recent call on July 20th to the local office in Livonia, Michigan instead of being answered was transferred to national office in Minnesota. I was able to talk to a live person. She promised to escalate my issue to the General Manager in Livonia. She also promised I will get a call back within two business days. Again nobody called back. Unfortunately these folks need some soul searching in area of customer satisfaction. They should do much better for the price they charge. read more

Got the the windows installed around March of 2015. Price is expensive for windows. Cost us around $12,000 for 5 sliding windows, a picture window and a patio door wall. Installation wasn't that great. I only say that because they did a HORRIBLE job caulking. Had to have them come back and re-caulk the outside of all my windows. I don't see much of a difference in my heating and cooling bills. We bought the house in 2012 with the old windows and got these in 2015 and looking at the previous bills, i don't see much of a difference. Service- I find them to be good at coming back to fix issues on the windows. However, it usually takes about 3 weeks for them to come. Not sure why? Too many problems with their windows?? Our salesman was no pressure. That is why I chose Andersen because the salesman did everything I had asked and he only contacted us when I emailed him some questions. Would I buy them again? Still not sure. I was told these would last 30-40 years. We'll see what happens. read more

I am very pleased with our windows and we've now had them over a year. I definitely have recommended Renewal by Andersen to friends and still would. Super clean in their work habits, nice crew, beautiful windows that are so easy to use, fabulous sliding door. They also came out promptly when I realized the exterior handle color was wrong to fix it. Installed entire house in one dsy. That said, I was a bit annoyed by the old school style that both spouses must be there for decisions. I drove out to their showroom location about 1.5 years prior to purchasing because I knew what I wanted and there I could see the products firsthand. I appreciated the explanation given about the features, construction and options. I also liked the fact that you could see examples of different types of trim that could be done with the windows. After loading me up with brochures, I asked about the time frame for having someone out to do an estimate. Unfortunately, I learned that they would not come out for an estimate unless all homeowners were present. I felt this was a bit short sighted on their part as every relationship has different dynamics and while some may require both parties to work in tandem to choose windows, other households work perfectly well with one individual managing the window decision. So, I was disappointed because schedules did not work to make an appointment. Fast forward and Renewal by Andersen is knocking on my door. Sure, I'd love an estimate. Let's set up a time. (I completely forgot about the spousal "consent" issue.) Jeffrey comes out and is great. I explain my spouse is just leaving for work and can't stay but since Jeffrey gets the "whatever she says" before my spouse leaves, we can move forward. Of course, I knew almost everything I wanted (casement, double hung, etc.) so I was ready to go. I guess that was enough to do the sale, but even so, documents had my spouse's name (not mine) despite the fact that I signed and paid and was the contact person. They cancelled the night before my appointment, after badgering me almost everyday with texts and calls from the day I scheduled it. I have a large living room window I was looking to replace. When I signed up for my appointment I was very clear I just needed a replacement for it, not an upgrade to a bay or bow window. I should have known there was a problem when the first call I received after scheduling my appointment was to talk about the bay or bow window I wanted. We had three windows and a sliding glass doors replaced and it was a nightmare. We expected it to take a day, maybe a day and a half tops. The job wasn't finished properly for over a month. They got two windows and the door installed the first day they were there (from 8:30 am to 7 pm). The next day they came late and were unable to finish the whole job before dark, they would have to come back and do the finishing work later. After 3 weeks of TRYING to get someone on the phone to ask when the job would be completed, we FINALLY got someone out to see what needed to be done, because apparently the installers hadn't mentioned that they left without finishing. The very nice man who came to look at them promptly informed us that two of the three windows and the door were installed wrong and would need to be redone. Even the trim on the inside had been installed wrong (nailed instead of glued). I was livid. When a competent installer finally came out the next week to finish, he had the job done in less than a day, even though he was taking numerous photos of all the mistakes that had been made to show the main office.
