I really appreciate that they have interaction with people and other birds while I'm gone. Upon returning the test was back and I found out my Quaker is a female because Fernando, store owner, manager, bird knowledge extraordinaire .... Had my bird sex reveal for about $30! If you love your bird DO NOT take it to this pet store when going on vacation. My daughter left her cockatiel there for 4 days while we went to Aspen. She went to pick up her bird today and came home crying. Our bird had dry poop all over her face. The bird was so traumatized when she came home. I am disgusted and very upset that our bird was neglected and traumatized. My kids are sad to see her condition. please do your research before leaving your pet at Rena's Pet store. We will never return. The owner should be ashamed of the way they promise to take care of people pets. Pets are family members to us and it's heartbreaking when we see them suffer. read more

This is the one and only store I go to since the 8 years I live in Florida. Driving from Palm Coast I always make sure, I get everything I need in one trip. The store is well organized, Fernando is very knowledgeable about everything bird and all the cages he sells. I love the bigger selection and space he has since the begin of 2024. Had a problem with some cages I bought this time, no problem, Fernando went out of his way to make it right. After calling around to 7+ pet stores we were finally able to find a super affordable new parrot cage at Rena's! We decided to build it ourselves so that we would save a little extra money. The store had an amazing selection of bird items and bird cages! I wish we had found this store even soon, as the prices are so reasonable. The staff was SUPER friendly and very knowledgeable of their products. 5 star experience for sure. We are very happy with our new parrot cage. Also Mia the parrot at the store was so cute! Was a great one stop shop and grooming. They do have great selection of cages, toys and food. However their new rules for grooming is 1 hour before closing at 5PM! When arriving at 4:03PM I was told no more grooming and proceeded to say many customers are upset. I drive 30-35 minutes to get everything done at once. Guess I will have to take my business somewhere else. It's a shame! Most people work until at least 5PM, does not make much business sense. Also their website still states wrong hours. read more

Rena's Bird Store in Longwood is a wonderful place for all things bird. I purchased 2 beautiful gouldian finches today and as well as various other nicknacks for my birds to enjoy. It's a super clean store, the birds seem to be very happy (including the boarders) and the prices are really reasonable. We purchased an African Grey female from Fernando. He is an excellent individual to interact with. He is very honest, organized and informative. Paid Fernando to DNA my lovebird and put a band on him. The band came off and my husband and I drove from Metrowest Saturday to get it put back on. We got there exactly at 5. He refused to put the band on which would have taken 10 seconds, but instead stood there arguing for 7 minutes over policy store hours. He turned away a woman who drove 3 hours as well. We spent an astronomical amount of money his his store and to be treated like that is unacceptable. I've put up with his nasty attitude telling myself to ignore it because his prices are good. , but no more. I've spent enough time in his store to observe that he treats certain cultures differently from others. I don't tolerate that either. read more

They know their birds, but they seem to be very busy every time we go there. Good variety of bird supplies, food, birds for sale, and I even saw someone bring their bird in to board. It's just a tight little space for so much stuff. read more

I've lived in Central Florida all my life and visited every bird shop in the area, no place comes close to Renas. The owner, Fernando, is a quiet yet polite man, and the most responsible, knowledgeable, reliable pet shop owner I know. He truly cares for the birds and not just business. The shop stays well-stocked with a gigantic selection, organized, and IMMACULATE which is a miracle with birds. I've never seen such a clean bird shop. Prices are more than fair. We adopted a Quaker on the way down to Orlando from Jax. Pretty bad condition. Not being held, and about 40 grams underweight. We called the man that owns this store and asked if he would take a look at her and see if there was anything alarming that would warrant an immediate vet visit as opposed to one when we got home. He told us she was very underweight (explains lack of balance and exhaustion) he gave us some baby bird formula and instructions. She's gained 8grams in three days! All thanks to his instructions. We bought a ton of bird toys while we were there, for both our birds, and one of the parrot tree stands outside! He even helped us put it in our car. Amazing prices. Honestly it's worth the 2 hour drive and dealing with i4 just to come to this store. read more
