Making sure you choose the right store to take care of your birdies is so important. We searched and searched for a place. Then we found The Bird Store through a recommendation from a couple that we met at PetSmart! The staff is so knowledgeable and we really connected with them. The manager Arden was friendly and helpful. They have great toys and tons of food. Since we started going we have adopted 6 birds from them. They rehome birds giving them a second chance. The bird store has a great selection of toys and supplies. I found some fantastic foraging supplies for my Conure. I found things like star anise, dried herbs, chamomile, dried peppers, etc. that I have a hard time finding elsewhere. My parrot loves the things I bring home from this store. They also offer boarding, which is a godsend! The ladies who work there are always incredibly helpful to me and very welcoming. They were very sweet and happy to greet my bird when I brought her in while I shopped. Prices are great too. read more

I have been coming here since at least 1994. I loved this place. Quality seed and products always in stock. Exceptional staff (Sandi for one ) who became friends. Now under new ownership. I went yesterday, (now probably for the last time ) looking for my 22yr old Cockatiel's new snack dish. The store was completely changed. The dish which is a simple inexpensive dish was not in stock. Not as much seed. One person present to help. Original staff gone. Sandi no longer works there. And the person there knew nothing about Sandi. I am so very disappointed. They have a lot of real wood perches and really wood bird stands to get your birds out of the cage. Great selection of things you won't find anywhere else. Me and Son visit this store for the first time! We walk in with a smile and said Hi. All we got was a head nod and that's it. Ignored completely while in the store.. We went to the back of the store to see the birds and the cages the young girl watch US like we going to steal we felt so uncomfortable. beautiful to see the parrots that were being boarded! however there was one lady there and she barely spoke to us we asked if there was any birds for sale and she just said "no", not really gave us further information or offered any assistance with anything and she didn't greet us like how you would think someone running a business would do. she kind of walked around, it felt like she was ignoring us. it was awkward and it felt like as new customers we were invisible to her. hopefully her customer service improves, we were interested in doing business with them until the woman gave us no interest. won't be coming back here.. read more

I love this place and everybody there. I was lucky it was close to where I lived for years, but now if I go to Orlando from Palm Bay I make sure to stop in and get things for my parrots and also my roommate's. One extremely good thing they have that's hard to find outside of the Internet is ABBA 1500 parrot food. It's the best enriched food with seeds, all kinds of nuts, dried fruit, pellets and more out there, besides the most healthy straight pellets like Roudybush (but not in stock, Harrison's). They have a huge selection of cages, stands, perches of all sizes of many different kinds of wood, and every kind of toy. It's a humble little place but it has just about everything for birds. They don't sell birds. They have their own there, too. It's privately owned and the people are for real. It's off of Michigan and Bumby and it's in a quiet area. They also can know about other resources, for instance, they had recommended to me a good bird kennel when I needed to be away for 2 weeks. It was in a lady's house (named Sue), and it was very clean, and they were in nice big cages in a great place off of the living room (birds like social areas) My grey and cockatoo also got some attention like the were used to, also in the company of her own well-taken care of birds. Until about the age of 13 my parents would not give into my deep, unrelenting desire to have a dog. Instead, we compromised and they let me get a bird...a parakeet to be exact. It wasn't quite the same, but it fulfilled my desire to have a pet for a short period. Instead of going to the local Petland and before Pet Smart came into the picture, my dad and I would go to the bird store once a month to get supplies for our bird...whose name I can't seem to remember at the moment. They had every kind of bird you can imagine, excluding wild birds like eagles and vultures of course, along with numerous types of food, cages, and toys. It's like those posh dog stores/bakeries all over town now, only for birds and not quite as froofie. The people who work there are very knowledgeable on all things bird-related and so helpful. Their prices are cheaper than other pet stores too. If they don't have it they can either order it for you or tell you where you can find it...they always had what we needed though. Lots to select from with toys, cages and other bird accessories. Friendly staff that is knowledgable too. They dont support breeders which is a plus for me. If you are looking to buy a bird, they will direct you to a local rescue. I think that's awesome since so many animals are abused and neglected in that industry. read more

This place is great. Very helpful and knowledgeable employees. They have everything one would need for birds. I get food, treats, toys, and play-gyms here. All the prices are very reasonable. I don't have much to say other than that. Go in and check it out for yourself! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the place seems a little dusty and outdated inside.
