How many times did the owner of Renaissance view his contractor's work. The inspector gave an approval over the phone. Look at the pictures. Where's the lie. We have more pictures of work performed by the company if you need to see them. Never did we ask for work to be done for free. We just wanted you to clean up what you messed up, like the rack in the closet that fell off the wall. But I'm done! No one wants to destroy your business. The popcorn you bought to support the foundation and the ad you placed in the book were BEYOND appreciated but has nothing to do with the workmanship of the company. read more

They did a large interior renovation for us including a full Kitchen reno, lots of painting, plaster, and detail work. Experienced in working on historic homes and working with the City of Detroit which can be tricky sometimes. It was a long project but was done fairly efficiently, given the extensive nature of the project. Today our house is a standout on the block! read more

This company came to my home to do an estimate for an attic renovation. The gentleman who came said he was the owner of the company. He was cordial, gave me some information about his company and his calling card. So far, so good I bought to myself. After viewing the space on the way down he asked what I did. I told him I am an education researcher. His response, "Oh, yes, you sound very intelligent." Well, let me just say this. I am an African American woman and that was the wrong thing to say. BUT. . . I let it go. As he was leaving he said he would get the estimate to me in about 3 days. So I should have received it last Wednesday. Today is September 5. He came by on August 25th or 26th. So I expected to receive the estimate by September 1st or 2nd. I called the company this morning to find out if he was planning to send it. The following is why I am writing this review. After checking his records he said, Oh, yes. I will send it to you." I said, "well I was checking as you told me it would be 3 days." He then said something about it being the holiday and I don't know what else. I said "Well, if you're still interested, let me know. He said he was. Then in a voice with a tone that was as if he was doing me a favor, said, "You'll get it, okay!" in a voice that was short, sounded disgusted, and quite frankly disrespectful. Then he hung up on me. I could take this so many places, but I won't. I called him back and told him never mind. He said, "Well, okay, good." I hung up. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company. read more

It is my strongest recommendation that you DO NOT even consider Renaissance Restorations Inc for any project. This company is horrendously managed which is directly reflected in the execution and quality of their work. We signed a contract with Renaissance Restoration to complete a second floor addition of a master bedroom and bathroom and residing of our entire home. We were initially told the project would take 5-6 months. It took 14 months from the time we signed our contract to project completion and this is ONLY because we took on a significant portion of the project management and labor ourselves. The contract requires payments nearly in full long before the project is completed, which financially traps the customer, and we naively fell for this trap. Furthermore, every single tradesperson (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc.) hired by Renaissance Restoration expressed mutual frustration and disappointment in working with this company. I am more relieved than I am satisfied with the completed project. It came at a great cost both financially and emotionally. I urge you to save a bit more money to hire an established general contractor with a strong history and strong evidence of quality work. If this is not an option, you are better off figuring out how to manage the project on your own than investing in the services of Renaissance Restorations. I beg you to learn from our poor judgement and mistakes! P.S.- I expect the company may respond to this review in an attempt to pin the blame on me or something/someone else. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We hired them to fix our slate roof and they did barely okay. The owner wanted as much money up front as possible. They did a horrible job at replacing our eves and then they did not install the leaf guards as promised and paid for. We now have more damage to our roof that we need to pay again to have fixed - NOT going to use them ever again. The owner is a shallow front for cheap and inexperienced subcontractors. read more

My brick garage sustained a giant hole as my husband accidentally plowed through it as he backed in. Renaissance Restoration provided the best estimate for repair so we went with them. The finished job was done well and it looks phenomenal! We live in an historic district and it is important that any "outside" construction be done well. I would definitely use this company again and would recommend them highly. read more

Absolute worst customer service we have ever experienced. The accounting is suspect. The contractor is rude. If you hire them, don't complain because you will be met with open hostility, dishonesty, and threats from the contractor. I wish I could give them zero stars.
