I am not one to leave bad reviews. My family and I have been giving this place chance after chance. I live right up the block. Our experience last night was extremely disappointing. There was a piece of metal in the mussels, to which my father discreetly put in the owners hand and let him know. Owner did not even apologize to us or take the plate away, or adjust the bill. The place was packed with only one waiter running around, and it took two hours for dinner to get to the table. All the food was just mediocre. The ambiance is very blah. The vibe is not good. I really have no idea why people speak so highly of this restaurant. And we will not be eating there any more which is a shame. read more

Was visiting from out of town and Remys was recommended to me by a friend. Best decision to come here for dinner! The service was exceptional and the food, out of this world. Tried the Zuppa di pesce, absolutely delicious. The scallops were so tender and perfectly cooked, clams mussels and shrimp were complimented so nicely by the sauce. Rude indifferent service. Servers reached over diners to put food down. Runners didn't know who got what. Had to ask for olive oil twice. Tables very small and close together. Friend order some oreganata. There was no oregano. When he complained, owner said it was there. It wasn't. Noisy. Food was okay. Crab cakes were overdone and dry. Would have loved to have given Remy's 5 stars for quality and service, but I had a Groupon issue. Decided to try this restaurant when I saw a Groupon. It did state delivery and curbside pickup. I called to ask if I could use it for dining in snd was told "yes." I then made a reservation for 4 people. We ordered appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks. I then asked for the check and mentioned I had a Groupon. I was told it cannot be used for dining in. I replied that I called and asked and was told I could use it. I went here due to cabin fever with a Groupon. The food here does not disappoint. Yes! A block ahead and you can dine at Nicola's but they are VERY pricey. There is nothing on this menu that could be bad! Remy the owner actually took our order to make sure we were not waiting long and help hand deliver our food to our table. He was super nice and treats of his employees just as he treats his customers. I saw it first hand as they were winding down the night he had the staff sit with him and eat dinner. Recently went for Valentine's Day and had the perfect evening. Everything from the ambiance to the food and service was amazing. The low lighting with pretty lights and white linen table clothes was really romantic. It was quiet and intimate. Wait staff was informed and helped us pick food and wine (and made excellent suggestions). And when we left they gave me (and the other women guests) roses which i thought was a lovely touch. Completely perplexed this place has a 4.5 rating. The wait staff is very unfriendly, almost felt like they didn't care we were there at all. Didn't even give us a menu until we asked. The food was awful - the baked clams and Zuppa di pesce were so bad, the mussels tasted like dirt. Would not recommend, it was a complete waste of a date night with my husband. Remy's the best place in The Five Towns. Starting from food presentation to the taste, everything will surprise you. Grilled Shrimp with penne Arrabiata is out of this world!! Also, do ask for salad of the day as it can NEVER go wrong. Close your eyes, pick a dish, order and it will taste great. The staff is so friendly. This is going to be a mixed review. I learned of Remy's through a Groupon offering, so I picked up a voucher to give them a try. Very nice website, nice reviews here, and the photos of the restaurant looked very nice. The offering stated that it included a bottle of wine, though a few reviews on Groupon stated that this was not the case. Here was the first "hmmmm...." Then I called to get the information, and spoke with a lovely lady who did not know what they were offering, so went to get more information. Ok. Then I asked about the included delivery, which they could not do as they were too busy. (hmmm...ok). Then I asked where they had a menu for me to view, but she did not know, so off she went to find out again. She came back and told me to view it on a delivery site (I think grubhub). Was it up to date? She didn't know. (Hmmmm....) After another round on hold, it turns out they have a menu on their own website (duh!). Ok. I called back and yet another totally lovely lady answered. I asked to place my order, and tried to give her all the information (groupon, credit card, etc), but I was told that the groupon would have to be redeemed on site. Again, ok. We get there to pick up, and it is a VERY nice looking restaurant. And every one of the staff we interacted with was VERY charming. They had done a lot of work to be COVID ready. They had a great wedding-style tent outside with most of the flaps open and fire canons (I think they are called) around to keep people warm. Great job, indeed! Except...I saw at least three staff walking around with their face masks off the nose, off the face, or just plain OFF. Really? Especially with the elderly demographic of their patrons? (Big "Hmmmm....") We got the food, which was nicely packaged, thanked them and went home. Alas, the food itself was really-really lacking. I will make some allowance that we did not eat on site and that sometimes food doesn't travel well. Ok. But the stuffed clams were the smallest things I've ever seen, maybe 1.5" on the length, all bread, and many seemed to not have any meat. Those that did, only had a spec of clam. And, there were not many in the order, even for an appetizer. We also ordered their lobster ravioli. Again, there was not so much in the serving that anyone should worry about gaining weight (Is nouvelle cuisine still a thing?) The ravioli was ok, not great, not bad. The filling certainly didn't have much lobster though - we could not quite notice any. The sauce would appear to be made from fresh tomatoes, I assume. But it didn't seem to have much added to it in terms of flavor. This isn't a huge problem, and I do this at home. But when out, well, one expects a bit more, no? So, I'm of mixed feelings. Normally I would never think to come back. But as I mentioned, both the place and the staff were all nice. And perhaps I should assume what we got for food was a by-product of COVID days and give the place another try on another time, during better days? Perhaps. read more

I must say this restaurant saved my night, so it was my birthday on 5/11 and I missed my reservations at a restaurant not to far from there in which I was so depressed because it was getting late an every restaurant was closing, we literally called every where and no one would take us so we finally called Remy's and they told us to get there within 10 min, we got there got seated an the service was so amazing the waiters were really patient which was awesome and the food was top notch. The place is done beautifully. In our home we treat birthdays like they are national holidays. I always ask my children ahead of time to pick a restaurant of their choice, of course that never happens. I remember speaking with a friend and she highly recommended Remy's. I am so glad I trusted her judgment. From the moment we entered the establishment we we greeted with a genuine welcome. The staff, friendly, the patrons at the bar also chimed in with a happy birthday as she entered with her balloons in hand. So many delicious entrees to pick from the menu, we had a very hard time deciding what to order. Remy made sure to take his time and go over the menu in detail and we were able to make our choices from there. Every meal was delivered to our table in a timely manner and was delicious!
