I popped in for a super quick look - I was contemplating getting a coffee but then thought better of it seeing it was already late afternoon. I did notice that Papercup don't just do coffee though, there's also a small selection of cakes on offer. Forty is the clothing side of things and while it's not my kind of thing (edgy streetwear), they did have some nice stuff and tshirts. There's also Safehands Barbers so you can get a whole new look with a cut and some clothes. In this area, I can't think of any other independent coffee shops so I'd definitely pop back for a coffee next time I'm in Royal Exchange Square.

I had a quick look around, it's a nice space, clothes and sneakers downstairs, barber through the back, Papercup up front. A nice modern addition to Royal Exchange Square, the logo for the Forty range were designed by the owners kid, which is a nice touch, and I'm so happy that Papercup are now in the city centre! Definitely be back to do some shopping, and of course, get some good coffee!!

I found a very useful thread on Reddit that listed several reputable shops in Edinburgh (our base of operations while in Scotland), including this warning: "Whatever you do, don't go into any of the tat shops." Of course, then I had to ask Google what a "tat shop" was. In the United States, my guess would have been a tattoo parlor, but that didn't make sense. A "tat shop" is a souvenir store. I made some phone calls when we got to Edinburgh. Many stores in the UK are closed on either Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday, so that narrowed our choices. Other stores had no fair isle jumpers in stock. Still, I was undeterred and kept calling around. After only two or three calls, I reached Dicks Edinburgh and was told that they did have exactly what I was seeking. A few hours later, after we had toured Edinburgh Castle, we hopped into a cab and went straight there. My husband and I were the only customers, and the entire staff (two women and a man) were collectively attentive to us. It took me only a few minutes to decide on the perfect jumper. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. Dicks Edinburgh is clearly a quality clothing store, and I would not hesitate to shop there again.

Very friendly shop in the main shopping street in Lochgilphead. Not going to lie, a lot of the stuff in here is the basic touristy stuff that you'll find in the other shops around here, but they have a good selection and nice pricing. There is also a large whisky section, if you're into that sort of thing. Upstairs is where you'll find t-shirts and tchotchkes, like figurines and specialty drinking cups. They also stock womens and mens clothing but it looked more for the older women although they sold some okay trousers and jumpers. The staff member was okay but I feel some of the spaces between the clothes were tight and not ideal for either a buggy or a wheelchair if you met another trying to pass in the oposite direction a bit of manouevering would be required. At the back of the store there's a whole wall dedicated to trainers and I spotted a lot of nice brogues that are a bit more imaginative than the likes of Foot Locker and Foot Asylum etc. They had a couple of nice checked shirts in the window and pretty much all of the threads are designer labels that aren't stocked everywhere such as Religion and Ed Hardy.

I don't think the way this store is furnished represents the stock well. Everything is very dark and basic and you could be forgiven for thinking that the stock is going to be like that as well. Even the Vero Moda logo is kind of boring. However if you venture inside you'll find some very cute and feminine dresses as well as some great casual tops for layering. The prices are fair for the quality of clothing you are getting and I think Vero Moda, like H&M and Zara is a great reminder that it isn't only the British that do high street retailing incredibly well!

I had never paid much attention to Vero Moda stores in other locations such as Sauchiehall Street…read moreand even Dublin as they always seemed a little unwelcoming somehow but this one, located in Silverburn shopping centre, seems much more appealing with it's wide arch doorway and inviting window display. Black and classy, it remains open and breezy. The layout is ideal for top and dress-spotting - I always see more and more as I wander down the shop until I reach the back which always seems to have something on special offer neatly stacked on a table just before the airy changing rooms (and so it would be rude not to try something on). Despite never having bought something in the city centre branch, I have picked up several things from this one and it is one of my favourite stores in Silverburn. The staff are lovely too always admiring your purchase so you feel tip-top as you leave the store. Good shopping experience all round :)
