For me, it wasn't so much the size that put me off, but the bland stock. I was in here a few days ago and can barely remember any of the designers labels they had in stock since the clothes bored me a little. They reminded me very vaguely of some of the clothes you get in the cool designer section of Camden Market in London, but done really badly. I can't think of any high street clothes that thee clothes would fit in well with.....I suppose maybe a less exciting Dorothy Perkins. There's a scant collection of clothing on offer and a couple of really gorgeous knitted cardi's which redeemed it somewhat for me. But although some people may find a cute little black dress for a fancy dinner, it wasn't as glamourous as I expected from the quality of the designers, nor did anything really grab my attention. What's more, it was moderately expensive for a little boutique. Go have a gander as the woman is nice, but it's a wee bit blah...sorry.

With large space within, you can often see some furniture on display in the window, not to mention endless shelves of books stretching out in front of you. The sinside doesn't disappoint as there are always serious bargains to be had, including when the shop has ample supply of small electrical appliances. When I visited last week there were numerous board games, cups, brooches and admirable teapots to keep me amused. The cashier is lovely and really courteous!

It's kind of a card shop, kind of a jewellery shop, so I'd put it in the bracket of gift shop! There are a few delicate, artistic greetings cards on offer, some kitschy stuff for the kitchen, but Hopscotch's strongest area as far as I could see it was their extensive jewellery collection. There were some Rennie Mack sets, Kit Heath and a few other local creations that would make a special someone feel very spoiled indeed. There are also a number of Scottish themed bags and fashion accesories on display if you're looking for a souvenir that is very subtly of a Scottish theme. There're a lot of nice gifts shops in Helensburgh and Hopscotch is one of them if you're on the hunt for something eye catching and sentimental for a loved one.
