They also stock womens and mens clothing but it looked more for the older women although they sold some okay trousers and jumpers. The staff member was okay but I feel some of the spaces between the clothes were tight and not ideal for either a buggy or a wheelchair if you met another trying to pass in the oposite direction a bit of manouevering would be required. The prices in the store and the range would encourage a repeat visit.

Given that the dead are not currently roaming the streets and that society isn't crumbling we concentrated on looking for a warm winter coat for smudge. That said she'd still need to be warm in a nuclear winter, dual purpose shopping! They have a good selection of kids outdoorsy clothing and especially jackets and coats ranging from economical regatta ones right through to seriously spendy Berghaus ones. Thankfully she fell in love with a middle of the range Craghoppers one. It's waterproof, fleecy lined and has a great hood so the poor sausage is getting no lifts to school this winter. While we were there g found a long list of cycling gubbins that has now been added to his 'I need all this now' list and I found a really cozy warm winter coat that might be worth investing in given that a denim jacket is not really the most sensible bit of outerwear for a Scottish winter. Poor puff was the only one of us not really catered for but she'd has so much fun riding in the trolly and pulling things off the displays that I don't think she minded one bit. It has to be said that finding a member of staff in here is virtually impossible. Even when it comes to actually buying something and handing over your money you just can't find any staff. I left g to pay while I got the kids in the car. Shop with care. Watch out for their great bargains and if you are desperate for something reserve online and pickup in store. Staff are quite good. Some better than others but as an outdoor type I just want somebody who can find the size of shoes I'm looking for.

I popped in for a super quick look - I was contemplating getting a coffee but then thought better of it seeing it was already late afternoon. I did notice that Papercup don't just do coffee though, there's also a small selection of cakes on offer. Forty is the clothing side of things and while it's not my kind of thing (edgy streetwear), they did have some nice stuff and tshirts. There's also Safehands Barbers so you can get a whole new look with a cut and some clothes. In this area, I can't think of any other independent coffee shops so I'd definitely pop back for a coffee next time I'm in Royal Exchange Square.

I had a quick look around, it's a nice space, clothes and sneakers downstairs, barber through the back, Papercup up front. A nice modern addition to Royal Exchange Square, the logo for the Forty range were designed by the owners kid, which is a nice touch, and I'm so happy that Papercup are now in the city centre! Definitely be back to do some shopping, and of course, get some good coffee!!

Of course, then I had to ask Google what a "tat shop" was. In the United States, my guess would have been a tattoo parlor, but that didn't make sense. A "tat shop" is a souvenir store. I made some phone calls when we got to Edinburgh. Many stores in the UK are closed on either Monday/Tuesday or Tuesday/Wednesday, so that narrowed our choices. Other stores had no fair isle jumpers in stock. Still, I was undeterred and kept calling around. After only two or three calls, I reached Dicks Edinburgh and was told that they did have exactly what I was seeking. A few hours later, after we had toured Edinburgh Castle, we hopped into a cab and went straight there. My husband and I were the only customers, and the entire staff (two women and a man) were collectively attentive to us. It took me only a few minutes to decide on the perfect jumper. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. Dicks Edinburgh is clearly a quality clothing store, and I would not hesitate to shop there again.
