    I have been a customer of Empire Today for over 16 years and this is my 4th floor installation…read more On 11/10/2025, I entered into a contract for luxury vinyl plank flooring, following a consultation where concerns about subfloor unevenness were discussed and assurances were provided. Installation began on 12/11/2025 after a delay due to inventory issues. The flooring was installed improperly, including placement over wet leveling material, resulting in significant defects such as uneven surfaces exceeding 1/8", gaps between planks, damaged boards, improper cuts, broken planks, and areas of instability. Repairs attempted on 12/16/2025 were incomplete and created additional problems, including a 1-1/8" height variance that presents a safety hazard. On 12/30/2025, an installation manager inspected the floors and verbally disputed the defects. The installation manager would only acknowledge me and not my husband. The installation manager was seen bending a straight edge to manipulate the 1-1/8" hump on the floor. The house was completely empty, including the toliets. I had to reschedule the granite counter tops installation and appliance delivery to for after the unsuccessful repair job. Since then, multiple repair appointments have resulted in no-shows, cancellations without consent, and continued incomplete work. I requested the original installer not be sent back out for anymore future repairs, but was sent out again without my knowledge. The flooring remains defective and is showing signs of failure despite minimal use, and the manufacturer warranty has been compromised due to improper installation.

    Today 7/5/2024 was my installation date to have new tile flooring installed . Life got to lifeing…read moreand I totally forgot about replacing the flooring that was in the kitchen, pantry, and laundry rooms . I used this company initially back in Mar 2019 . I was blessed with another pleasant exceptional customer service experience from start to finish . I was looking at the Today show on June 5, 2024 . I don't watch a lot of television. A commercial came on for a different flooring company then a light bulb turned on . In that moment I remembered I hadn't replaced the flooring in my kitchen , pantry and laundry rooms. I made a call spoke initially with Joycelyn who answered my call. She found my info in their computer system from 5 years ago . She found an appointment the next day with a window of arrival 0900 - 11:00 am. They aim to arrive at the earlier time of the appointment. My service advisor was scheduled the next day , June 6, 2024 . Later, that day before my appointment , I received a text with a picture of the advisor Fabien D. with his contact number . Fabien was running ‍ late for our 9 am appointment the next day he left a vm . I missed his call by 2 mins but called him back. I wasn't upset but relieved to receive the voice message. We had good conversation when he arrived at my home . Fabien , was attentive and listened well. Fast forward to today . My installer Florencio A. actually arrived earlier than 0900. Again no complaints I rather a early arrival than a late one . . I gave Florencio a tour of the three spaces kitchen , pantry & laundry rooms that he would be working on . He caught me off guard as I was trying to move the last few things that needed to be moved . I am a disabled Navy veteran. Florencio was cool , calm and collect . He didn't gripe at all . As he was getting his materials from his truck I took quick pictures and videos . I am very happy with the outcome . Bravo Fabien and Florencio.

They had reached out to tell us a few days in advance that we were scheduled at 9am. I took the day off to head to another property with no furniture, no wifi, etc. to wait for the installer. Texted the scheduler (STEPHANIE) close to 10am and she kept saying the installer was already at the property. She said this several times. I walked around the block but still couldn't find him. Then she texted that she got confused with another house where the owner's last name was the same as my street name. Odd because how do you get the street name confused with the last name? I called her because I was very confused and then she said this was now rescheduled "because of the rain" by 4 hours to 1PM. Weird that we weren't notified of the "rescheduling" until I called 1.5 hours after our appointment time. The rain also stopped much earlier before 8am so not sure why that would even matter. I told her how could they reschedule us that many hours without a simple text? I took off of work, drove 30 min away, and then when I asked her this...she LAUGHED and said we can't help the weather. I have never heard anyone so rude and unprofessional in my life. I even asked her why she was laughing and she kept laughing. Always remember to be kind to others...you never know what others are going through. Also a lesson for companies that a front desk assistant can be a very important role. And it can make or break a business! There is also another review saying how horrible Stephanie is. Please trust the reviews and do NOT use them because there's a chance Stephanie will ruin everything. We weren't even offered a discount or a chance to reschedule to another day...just laughter. Edited to add: I had another job done by them (a different scheduler) earlier this year and had to sign a paper with my rating. But for this job, silence. No opportunity to send feedback/my rating. Seems like they hide these bad issues internally as well by not asking for feedback if they know it won't be good.
