Not as popular as some of the other staffing agencies on-island so the amount of available work is not as much. Shifts get taken quickly and it's fairly competitive for the better employers. You may not get enough hours to be considered part- or full-time. This agency is better for per diem, on-call, or temp work while you're transitioning professionally. After being assigned to some "long term projects" that ended prior to the due date, it gets harder to retain the faith. At first I thought the world of Remedy Staffing. However, it makes me wonder about the projects they give me. I remember when a project ended suddenly, Beth said, "that's the way the cookie crumbles". That does not help me at all. It does not make me feel good at all. So this makes me think. I'm still attached to this agency. However, they did not reach out to me about jobs I applied through their website. Their motto is they try to get you placed in a job in 3-5 days. Being that unemployment is at an all time low now that bodes well that they could stick to their motto. I went to the job fair at the Blaisdell, which I should honestly review because I thought it was pretty awful. I remember telling my mom how mad I was for going because there were absolutely no job prospects for me. However, I got a call a day or two later from Remedy because we had briefly met when I passed their booth at the fair. They followed up really quickly, which at the time was surprising, but in hindsight was probably a really good thing. We chatted about what I was looking for and they said they'd look out for me and introduce me to any jobs they thought I might be interested in. I did at first end up working at a community college bookstore thanks to them, but it was great because it was easy and I was happy to make some money while I continued my hunt for a full time job. Fast forward a bit, and Remedy introduced me to the place I work at now. They got me an interview, and about a week after my interview I started with this company. Wow Remedy Intelligent Staffing with only 2 stars? I've had such a great experience with them I just had to write a review. I have been with Remedy for a LONGGGGGGGGGG time now. While I am no longer temping through them, I have been one of many have have been successfully placed and have been picked up through a company. I have been a temporary employee through them, a temp to hire (meaning the company has you on a trial period and if they like you they hire you permanently) and a direct hire (employer pays Remedy to find a qualified employee for their open position). When I first went in, I met with staff to interview, took some standard test (typing, word and excel) and waited to be placed. I was always presented with different options and didn't feel pressured to take a job opportunity that wasn't for me. When I think about it they have actually placed me at my 3 jobs after college. When a company wasn't doing so well, I was let go and Remedy quickly found me something else, something better. Being in HR I can appreciate that they take the time to make sure the applicants are qualified and competent. While applicants feel it is a pain to take the tests, it actually helps me a lot. Remedy is a great company with friendly staff. When I have called or emailed I always receive quick and efficient service. I know if I ever needed anything I could always go there for help. They're located in the Ala Moana area and their office is pretty. I like that they never make an applicant pay to be placed with a company. I answered an ad from Hawaiijobsengine.com not knowing I was submitting my application to a staffing agency. Ugh. Remedy and Staffing Solutions constantly spam that site and Craigslist to draw in job seekers so they have a large pool of applicants to pick and choose from. That's annoying. Anyway, I got called in to talk with everyone there, did their standard tests (in their computer room which was FREEZING), got a call or two after, and no job placement. While I understand they can't place everyone, I didn't hear anything from them after that. Even now when I email the contact I have there, nothing. Do not waste your time with this employment agency. After being told in the interview that they "strive to place you within 1 to 5 days" I was very disappointed to later be told "we are not a placement agency and cannot guarantee you will be working within [time frame]." Excuse me, but without PEOPLE you have nothing to offer your clients. When I am hired, you receive your fee. So I would think when someone highly qualified comes to you saying they want to work immediately and makes it clear that their job preferences are flexible, you would do your best to find something immediately. I was then able to move on to an even better company after about a year with them. Awesome staffing agency ! Their staff is very professional and courteous. I've worked with other agencies before and they just try to get you interviews anywhere doing something irrelevant and end up wasting your time. Choosing Remedy Intelligent Staffing was the best choice made thus far. What can you expect? First of all, you will wait for about 5 to 10 minutes before being called into the interview room. Met with Kristen and Beth. Such a very pleasant and professional manner and interested in helping to find the right job. We went over resume and asked question back and forth to see what they are looking for as well as sharing with them my background. As we ended this part of the meeting, they finished up and told me that Kay would come in to sign paper work and give a pamphlet introduing me to Remedy. She did just that. I cannot believe Remedy has received reviews with one star or even two. They deserve MUCH better than that! I met the staff from Remedy several years ago and the communication and follow up has always been outstanding. They kept in very close contact with me as I searched for job placements. I went out to interviews with a couple of different companies....no such luck but understood it was not a guarantee. That I just wasn't the right fit for those two jobs. The third interview I went out on turned out to be the right fit and one year later I am still extremely happy with my job and forever grateful to Kim from Remedy for thinking of me for this particular placement. It is very unfortunate that there are people who post such negative comments just because they weren't able to find the right placement. As an employer, you should be confident that you're getting qualified candidates from a staffing agency, especially if you're paying out of pocket for these candidates. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. After terminating the first candidate I hired, due to lack of initiative and poor performance, I was assured the next candidate I was provided would be great for the position. I interviewed them as before, and they seemed a good fit however, after a few weeks it was clear that the position was not good fit, again. The position was a sales position however, the candidates did not consistently meet goals and lacked the ability to obtain required licenses. These candidates were clearly given the position requirements and both agreed that they could meet or exceed the goals required of the position. Since using Remedy, I have moved to posting my positions on a local job website and have received a much better response and have benefited by hiring two qualified candidates. A word to the wise if you are an employer, be very clear and concise in the job requirements and setting expectations. Not only for a staffing agency but for he candidates themselves. Be very picky, do NOT SETTLE for less that what the position requires! It will cost you financially and emotionally. I will take a little of the blame here for not knowing what I didn't know going into using a staffing agency, which includes not making it EXTREMELY clear what my requirements were for the position. That said, Remedy should read this and take some advise to be proactive and do a better job of getting to the details of what an employer is looking for, then ensuring their screening process matches a qualified candidate for a specific position. read more

I was formerly an employee of Remedy Staffing. When I was hired for a position I was told and have an email saying that after a month of working I would have an increase in my pay. When this didn't occur I questioned Remedy. Kim, the human resource manager was argumentative and unprofessional with me on the phone, she tried to put words in my mouth, was back pedaling her words and was telling me things that were completely different from what I was told . Be careful who you do business with. Instead of trying to solve the issue, they have not followed through with this matter and have not had the courtesy to call me.
