They asked Pacific Guardian Life to violate HIPAA rights and share my doctors portion of the TDI claim to which PGL cc'd me onto the email showing they had asked for that. They refused to file their portion of the claim online like my doctor and myself had submitted (the recommended way). So I reluctantly agreed to share my doctors portion of my TDI claim to which they then lost when it was faxed to them. I then went another two weeks waiting for an update, only to find out from PGL that they were waiting for a correction to be made on Altres behalf. PGL said I qualified for 100% financial compensation of my pay but Altres said I only qualified for 50%. When I asked when the request was made, I was told they had emailed them on a Wednesday, it was Monday when I found that out. Then when I called Altres they said they had JUST received the email that morning. How convenient... The benefit specialist I dealt with was Alicia Tanouye. Altres should be ashamed for trying to get one by on a vulnerable first time mom. Having me go over two months without pay is just shameful and to try to undercut a full time employee.

I was able to get an offer that fitted into my availability schedule, but I turned it town due to the location of where it really is and my overprotective parents being concerned about me working there which is understandable. I'm not going to take out a star or anything like that because they were flexible and knowledgeable too. I'll probably go back to them even when my new semester starts because I am currently looking for a part time job that fits with my school schedule. Nothing ... again Third day I called out, I again asked about the doctors note and if I could email it over to them. No reply ... nothing I emailed later that night because it's frustrating to not know what's going on. I FINALLY received a reply the very next day ... to sum it up in a few words ... sorry your sick but you don't have the job anymore. Mind you I was on prescribed medication that makes me sleepy ... but ah ... even if they had called they could've left a voicemail. And instead of CALLING ME BACK THE FIRST DAY I CALLED OUT to let me know that hey you have to be in regardless if your sick or you'll lose the job courtesy call ... they decided to do it 4 days later. Which I thought was unusual because with other temp agencies, this was never the case. In several attempts with getting me back to work in 2020, with no such luck as the hiring companies also had to pull back positions. And even during all of this, when I did get an "internship" through another entity to acquire technical experience because of the pandemic impact, I needed Aerotek/Aston Carter to provide a letter stating that the position I had applied for fell through. I received a call the same evening I requested such letter at 8 pm. This blew me away as I expected this process would take days or weeks for me to get a response but this wasn't the case. In January 2021 after my internship was completed, I took a week off to before restarting the job hunt. But instead, I got a call from Aston Carter asking if I was available. The job? Patient Service Representative at the mass-Covid Vaccination site at Pier 2! And honestly folks, when the news first came out about this event a few days prior, I knew I wanted to be part of this historic occasion, so my answer was a resounding YES! I wanna help. For the 6-months that I worked at Pier 2, the Aston Carter Account Manager was there, every morning before we started at 7 am. He was always available for us as well as the hosting company. Three-months into the gig, the hosting company allowed us to apply for positions with them. It took me a while to decide as I really enjoyed working with the people at the Pier. As things started to slow down at the Pier, I made the decision to start apply for a position with the hosting company which wasn't hard to do as managers and supervisors from the hosting company were actively recruiting new hires at the Pier. When it came to professional recommendations, our Aston Carter Account Manager was there for each and everyone of us, quickly responding to the hosting company's surveys. And although I am happily employed full-time with the hosting company, this Account Manager allows us to keep in contact with him and responding to messages within an hour. As far as benefits, Aston Carter provided the best and I got my health, vision and dental benefits as soon as I started. No waiting period like other contract agencies. I am thankful to all the team members I have been in contact with at Aston Carter, for all the professional help and advise they have given. As well as their quick response and friendly attitude and genuinely wanting to see me and my co-workers succeed.
