I'm really impressed with the structure of Altres' onboarding process. I have never seen such a well organized flow of each step. Kawehi, Leighana and Lynn are a dynamic tteam, whom i had the pleasure of being interviewed and helped by. They made me feel welcomed from thr start, and went above & beyond in such a quick time frame, it really exceeded my expectations! Truly impressed. The positions they have presented so far, are exactly what i wanted to come across. I love how they help potential employees understand the process, by listing down what to expect from Altres. It's so organized and transparent. I admire this! I highly recommend Altres Staffing, especially the dedicated team: Kawehi, Leighana and Lynn, for professionals seeking employment with great successful companies! They are awesome at what they do! 10+ stars in my book :)) read more

Altres made my experience as a first time mother extremely stressful. I went over two months without pay because they dragged their feet processing my TDI claim. They asked Pacific Guardian Life to violate HIPAA rights and share my doctors portion of the TDI claim to which PGL cc'd me onto the email showing they had asked for that. They refused to file their portion of the claim online like my doctor and myself had submitted (the recommended way). So I reluctantly agreed to share my doctors portion of my TDI claim to which they then lost when it was faxed to them. I then went another two weeks waiting for an update, only to find out from PGL that they were waiting for a correction to be made on Altres behalf. PGL said I qualified for 100% financial compensation of my pay but Altres said I only qualified for 50%. When I asked when the request was made, I was told they had emailed them on a Wednesday, it was Monday when I found that out. Then when I called Altres they said they had JUST received the email that morning. How convenient... The benefit specialist I dealt with was Alicia Tanouye. Altres should be ashamed for trying to get one by on a vulnerable first time mom. Having me go over two months without pay is just shameful and to try to undercut a full time employee. read more

Very professional organization. If they are as good getting me work as they were on boarding me, I will definitely recommend to others.

EDIT: For employers: I just learned from an admin of a tech department that of the 5 employees that were hired for their company through job agencies, the 1 employee that was hired through ALRTES had very poor performance, causing the company to waste their money fixing the problems the employee caused, and eventually let them go. The other 4 were good employees. This is only one instance so make of that what you will. -- For job seekers: I have spoken to my peers about the job agencies they use and they have all said the experience I had is not typical of other companies. I would recommend you go to a different agency that will take you seriously and respect your time. I almost gave them 2 stars because *most* of the staff that I have interacted with are very pleasant but the appalling interaction I had most recently far outweighs that. 1. Interacted with one rude staff member that asked if I was still interested in work to which I told them yes. I have told the company several times what my job experiences were but they have asked me for this information at least 3 different times a month apart. During the most recent call, they did not have my full work experience which lead to the employee making a rude comment towards me with my work gap since she didn't see the work and schooling I have done between then and now. During the end of that call she said I'd best fit a customer service role to which I said "sure" (even though they can clearly fking see that I have a BS in Computer Science???) and then she said "no a full time position." I have told them the past 3 times that I was looking for part time and temp positions because of my current jobs. It seemed like she knew this and asked anyways for some reason? If she wanted to push a full time job why not ask if I wanted a full time job related to the DEGREE THAT I TOLD THEM I HAVE that I have expressed previously that I am searching for something in this field as well. What is the point of giving them any preferences or information about myself if they are not going to take any of it into account? 2. They have only given me jobs 20 miles away, more than 15 minutes after the job had already started knowing I do not have a means of traveling that far. 3. The one job I did work with them went well for the most part until the last day where they did not tell some employees that they would not be working that day. This lead to them traveling to work for nothing and the client being confused as to why so many of us showed up because they let ALTRES know the day before that they wont be needing this many employees. read more

Since January 2021, I have been working with Altres Medical till present which is Dec 2021 as a agency nurse providing staffing for Covid Vaccinations. Altres Medical has consistently provided excellent customer service. I have called, texted, and emailed during business hours and have all questions answered in a timely manner. ** FYI for new employees** Please keep a personal log of your start-lunch-end time. Lastly, please understand staffing is according to business needs that fluctuates on a weekly basis or more. Thus, it helps to be flexible to working other places to meet 20 hours per week to continue Medical coverage benefits if needed. read more

I first reached out to Altres in Spring of 2024 when I saw a full-time job listing that looked interesting. Shortly after, Lynn gave me a call to learn more about my background and career interests. While that particular opportunity didn't work out, Lynn continued to check in with me over the next few months, sharing various job openings that aligned with my skills. I was grateful that Lynn kept me in mind throughout that time as new opportunities came up. By the end of 2024, Lynn scheduled me for an interview--even checking in with me through different phases of the process--that ultimately led to a job offer. I'm grateful to Lynn and the Altres team for their guidance throughout the job hunting process! read more

It's been nearly 4 years since my last review of Altres, and with all that's happened in the jobs market since the pandemic I thought it was time for an update. While I'm still working full-time with the company that Lynn Hiyane found for me, I've also been working some temp events for Altres in my off hours. These could last a single day, weekend, a couple of weeks or longer depending on their client's needs and my availability. Lisa Kodama and Shannon Ng contact me by text, email or phone when something pops up to see if I'm interested. The extra money really helps and Altres pays weekly, so no waiting 2 weeks to get that extra pay. Whether your looking for a long or short-term gig, I highly recommend giving Lisa or Shannon a call at Altres. read more

If you need a job, I highly recommend contacting recruiter Claudette Miller at Altres. She has experience and connections. I have personally gone through her twice and landed great jobs. Although my time with ALTRES was short, it was a great decision to go to them when I was in need! Filtering through different job applications is always tedious, but I decided to give ALTRES a try and Lisa got back to me in 5 minutes (really). it would be nice to have someone other than Cherice(sp?) who's far more knowledgeable and personable. This 'child' refused to listen or help in any way. The front office tried transferring me to someone else to help me since she was smart enough to understand what I was asking. My VERY BASIC question, do they do direct deposi? That's it! I didn't give her any names, I didn't ask for personal information if anyone, just a very basic question that Cherice didn't even know! She just rushed me off and told me to ask others. It's a YES or NO question, simple as that. If Cherice was intelligent enough to land ANY job, she should've known to ask someone for the answers she clearly doesn't know. Super irritating...having a child answer that phone for some reason. read more

The last 4 years working with Altres Staffing have gone by so quickly. I just realized that my current main job that was assigned by Altres Staffing began as a short 2 week temp job turned into a 3 year, full-time permanent accounting job. Even though it has been a long-term position, it is reassuring that I am still working through Altres Staffing with Lisa Kodama and Shannon Ng. I absolutely love they frequently contact me by text, email and phone when a job that they think I'll be interested is available. I never thought it was possible through a "temp/placement" company but with Altres, I have medical and dental insurance, and even a 401k with matching. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Lisa and Shannon enhanced my monotonous non-profit agency office job routine with a variety of exciting fun one day jobs at night or on weekends. I was assigned to work at symphony concert events on weekends at the Blaisdell and their special events at Royal Hawaiian Hotel. It didn't feel like a job at all. I greeted VIPS, assisted the celebrity performers with their CD/Poster signings and enjoyed all of the concerts. Another fun event was the Light Garden by Symmetry Labs in Ward Village. It didn't feel like a job at all to be directing the visitors through the exhibit surrounded by all the sparkly lights and music. When the Covid-19 pandemic began, everyone at my non-profit agency job immediately switched to work-from-home mode. Altres supported this move and has been a great resource for Covid-19 safety precautions. During the last year, Lisa offered me numerous independent work-from-home gigs through other non-profit agencies. This definitely brightened up my uneventful daily routine. Just this morning, Altres reached out to me to ask if I was interested in working an event at the Hawaii Theater. Unfortunately, I had to pass but I am really looking forward to going back to work at all the in-person events when the pandemic is over. Occasionally my main job asks me if I want to leave Altres and work exclusively for them. While I am very happy that they asked, I enjoy and value the flexible variety of options that I have with Altres Staffing. I am extremely fortunate to working with Altres Staffing. I truly appreciate and highly recommend Lisa Kodama and Shannon Ng! read more

I applied with ALTRES for a role that I thought was a good fit with me, and I quickly got a phone call to set me up with an appointment with Lynn. Not only did she help me understand the role I applied for better (it was not as good a fit as I originally thought), she helped me find a role that I didn't know existed, and was a perfect fit for me. I'm much more happily employed now, and it's all thanks to her taking the time to talk to me and understand not just my skills, but also what my goals were. To top it off, every single person I spoke to was also very friendly and helpful; we all know that applying for jobs is stressful and absolutely not fun, but my experience with ALTRES made it way easier. read more

I'd highly recommend Altres for Students, moms, and etc. basically ANYONE! I am a full time college student and decided not to take summer classes this summer so I can work and find a steady full time job that will allow me to still have time for homework and other things. -- I found Altres through a friend and at first I was hesitant because I wasn't sure what would come of this; pay deductions, not getting a perfect fit, etc. but I was proved wrong. At first when I applied for jobs I looked at strictly Medical job openings because that's what I am going to school for (A specific medical field, but I'd rather not say here). When I was first reached out to I had a hard time finding a job on my own because you really need a lot of experience in a specific job or your degree, so it was hard finding something that could fit me well. I prayed on it and it seems as though God was having me wait for the perfect job. Kawehi ended up reaching out to me after weeks of me trying to find me a job and sent me a job that fit EXACTLY what I was looking for. It's in the EXACT field I am going to school for, the EXACT shift I was looking for, and the EXACT pay range! I got an interview the NEXT DAY and got the job! Lynn, Kawehi, and Zana are AMAZING at what they do and I truly hope you all get to experience the hard work and dedication they have to find you your perfect fit just as I have. Thank you all again, I really appreciate you all! read more

Altres was recommended to me by a friend. I admit, I was a bit hesitant at first because I never used a staffing company before. I was looking for jobs on my own on various websites, but they didn't work out. To be honest, I was having a difficult time, so when another friend got a job through Altres, I decided to give them a try. I worked mainly with Lynn, Zana, and Kawehi (Roxanne and Claudette also contacted me regarding 1 position). They were quick to set up an online interview and I met with Zana to talk about what I'm looking for. They have lots of things you have to fill out, but it's to help them learn more about you so they can recommend jobs that are suitable. One thing I LOVE about working with their team is the constant communication. They call, text, and email. I'm always able to reach them and they respond back fast. They contacted me whenever there was a position they thought would match what I'm looking for. They also considered my preferred location, pay, etc. and provided as much detail as possible. If a job didn't match something (Ex: pay was lower than what I wanted), they would still let me know about the available position and let me know that pay was lower. That really helped to open up my options because I can be flexible about that. I really appreciate that they always asked me if I'm interested in the job or not. I never felt pressured to say yes to a job when I wasn't interested. They were always really understanding. There was a position that I interviewed for and I followed up with Lynn to let her know I was interested and really wanted the job. She followed up with me first and then followed up with the company. Later, I received a call from her and she asked me for the reason I quit my previous job. After explaining to her, she told me that she is asking because she heard back from the company and they were gonna pass on me. Lynn shared what the person who interviewed me seemed to be concerned about. However, she decided to clarify with me and told me she will call the company again to let them know my situation and what I meant. I was beyond touched because I felt that Lynn really went out of her way to hear my side and communicate that to the company. In my perspective, if Lynn had just called to let me know that I didn't get the job offer, then I would've had to accept that and we would've had to move on. BUT! I was so grateful that she fought for me :) It was the weekend and we had to wait a few days to hear back. I felt that the chances of the company changing their mind was very low. I was starting to lose hope, but eventually, Lynn got back to me with good news!! I was so surprised, super happy, and super grateful :) She also expressed how happy she was for me~ Since quitting my previous job, I was job hunting for a while. I experienced a lot of setbacks and I was really beginning to worry and stress out about finding a job. I will never forget how happy and relieved I was the moment I heard back from Lynn that the company offered me the job. Lynn, Zana, and Kawehi were all so helpful during this job hunting process and made me feel less alone. THANK YOU GUYS SO SO MUCH! I am sooooo grateful for all that you guys did for me :) If you are unsure about whether or not to contact Altres, doubt no more! Call them!! read more

Claudette Miller has consistently provided me with outstanding professional service. As a Placement Manager/Executive Recruiter, she has offered me high level positions with reputable law firms throughout my entire career. I took my wife here for a drug screening for her new employment. I called ALTRES beforehand and easily made an appointment the next day. ALTRES was the closest location to us, located along Kapiolani, next to Doraku, near Ward Ave. Make sure you slow down a little because the ALTRES building is blocked it's neighboring buildings. There is parking provided, but it was limited and all taken. I drove around the area and there is ZERO street parking because they're ALL Reserved for businesses. After a few circles and driving through the ALTRES parking lot several times, someone finally left. The staff here are friendly, and the office and waiting area were clean and cool with everything modern looking. My wife said she had to wait downstairs in the parking lot for someone to greet her. I contacted Altres after my personal attempts at securing a job didn't prove fruitful. I applied for a job in the morning and Altres contacted me within two hours: I was pleasantly surprised. After the initial, intake conversation, I was then put in contact with Placement Manager, Lynn Hiyane. Straight away, I was instantly comfortable in speaking with Lynn. Her skill and ability to communicate and make a connection resonated with me. Lynn then coordinated an interview with an amazing company whom I am now employed with!. Lynn was instrumental for me in securing this job because she took the time, and asked very detailed questions, to understand my skillset based upon my prior experience, training and my knowledge. For that, I am very appreciative. I have also contacted Lynn for part-time, weekend work because I needed to supplement my income. Talk about a win-win! I definitely know that if it wasn't for Lynn at Altres, I wouldn't be in this position that I am today. I am grateful for her personable professionalism and her thorough knowledge of the job market.
