I applied for a position I found on Indeed and had two interviews the next day--one with Priagola, Criszalin, and the other with the company that was supposed to hire me. At the end of the interview, I was given a conditional offer, contingent on providing a clean driving history and obtaining a TWIC card. I spent money to fulfill both requirements, but after submitting all the requested documents and information, I never heard back. This has been a frustrating experience, especially since I've worked with several staffing agencies in the past and have never been treated like this before--they essentially ghosted me. Because Express does not care about their employees. Sure the pay is nice but putting their staff in harms way - yes, Im referring to the COVID-19 pandemic - is not worth it!! Most of my review pertains to the healthcare division of Express but the on-call number for staff is answered by rotating management from all divisions. Sometimes the on-call number isnt even answered when youre trying to call in sick. But when they do answer its never a consistent greeting or questions asked. I have one good thing to say and that is that their pay is good. Well I guess it better be because working for an agency means you're put in situations that you may not like, aka facilities. I am a Nursing Assistant, almost done with nursing school and as soon as I get my BSN I am staying FAR AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY. The working environment is toxic. The facilities that Express sent me are awesome, mostly all nursing staff understand that you're an agency employee and that you may need some extra help. Who made my experience horrible was Rowena and Roxanne, the people in charge of your schedule and facility placements. Come to find out that they're related. Who would have known. They start off friendly but at soon as you need shift changes or request to leave to start a new contract, they will turn into bullies. It's EXTREMELY saddening because all the facilities I've worked for have nothing but good things to say about my work ethic. In fact most, if not all have asked me to work at their facilities full time. I stared working with Express in 2021 but left because of Roxanne. Whenever I would call, all I got was a mean attitude and no help, until I spoke to her supervisor. I left immediately. In 2023 I came back and got directed to Rowena. Her relative (which for some reason they sound like the same person). She was no different than Roxanne. Both friendly until you need their help. At the end of the day, if you don't mind switching facilities, Which is what an agency typically insists of and don't mind attitude from the staff, than this company is for you. I tried to ignore them but can no longer do it. What is also upsetting is that after meeting other Express agency staff, they also had problems with Rowena and Roxanne but none of them spoke to their supervisors like I did. They are great, initially. Then, it goes down hill from there. After finishing my contract with Express, I found out that they ended my contract a little before the holidays. So I didn't get holiday pay nor was a qualified for holiday pay at the main job. That's not the worst part. I'm bummed I didn't get holiday pay, but it's whatever's. I've been with Express for about 4 months then. I would've qualified for it. But they let me go where I was officially hired with the job. No holiday pay there. Now, I did not realize that they did not deduct any federal taxes from my paychecks. I have been trying to get in touch with them for a while via text. That is the only way I can get in touch with them while I'm at work. No matter how many times I try to text them, an automated message pops up saying that someone will be with me to help me. Nope. Nothing. I had double checked my W4 to see if it was my fault on my end. Nope. I did it correctly. I have been trying ti get in touch with the for a while. Last resort is to report them to the IRS for not deducting my federal taxes I guess. read more

One typically reaches out to an employment company in order to get help landing a job. I called regarding a position that was posted on Express Employment's website. I met the qualifications including one year "recent" experience. After taking the summer off to stay home with my children I then prepared our family to move over 4000 from home for my husband's work. Now that we are here and settled in I am ready to get back into the workforce. It's been 6 months since I "worked". Apparently now all the experience that I have from the past 20 years isn't good enough. Because I haven't been employed outside the home in the last 6 months I'm out. My favorite part of the company's website: "Our long-term goal is at the heart of our company's vision, to help as many people as possible find good jobs by helping as many clients as possible find good people." Is it helpful to turn away a qualified candidate because she hasn't been employed in the last six months? Is it helpful to dismiss someone completely not knowing their unique situation? I went here last week to meet with this staffing agency to help me find a RN job, I felt confident that the person I met with would be able to help me. The meeting went great, she explained the steps I needed to complete before moving forward which was taking assessments that she needed to email to me. At the end of our meeting she said she would send them to me via email right then and there. I waited all evening for the email with the links to the assessments, nothing. I then emailed her the next day to follow up and see if she could email the links thinking she may have just gotten busy and wasn't able to send them. I waited all day for a response, not even an email back apologizing or sending the assessments. I waited a few more days and emailed her again, no response as well. People come here for help to find a job, how are they supposed to do that when this company isn't helping them? read more

In less than two hours, I was given access to a computer to submit my online application and had an immediate interview with a lovely young lady named Lindsey. Within a week, I was offered a temp assignment at a local real estate agency that would have been the ideal place to work (yes they offered me a position) if I was looking for permanent placement. Much like other recruitment agencies, in that they don't actually have jobs on and hope blasting your resume to hiring managers will help them get the role. Major difference: they have no idea HR wise on how to maintain employee relationships. They constantly have issues with their pay stubs and cannot fix common sense errors. I am convinced these people have no skills required for Human Resources Management. I had to even contact the corporate office on the mainland to reach out to the franchise owner to get an ongoing pay issue resolve. They also have some back door way of keeping their employees paying for their benefits when they are no longer their employee without giving them a chance to opt in or out, which is NOT specified in their agreement, no matter how much they try to defend it. The staff talk in circles, not knowing what they are trying to explain. Don't waste your time with these people, you can find a job on your own-trust me. There is no benefit to using them. Maybe my expectations are too high coming from a global recruitment agency on the mainland, but the people of Hawai'i deserve better. read more

I've never consulted with any other staffing agency prior to my employment at ExpressPros so it's hard to gauge where they fall but overall, I could not be any more satisfied with my current placement. Sunny and Roxanne (in charge of IT positions) were able to quickly setup an interview with my now current employer with respect to my request to keep my job search confidential. They carried out an excellent job in negotiating my desired pay rate in a timely manner. The only negative thing I can say is that I went in for another Craigslist post but was offered another (even better?) position. I received no details about the original posting so I thought I'd mention that it may have gone a different direction for someone else. Luckily for me, there was no need for that other position. I know in due time, I may be ready for an even better opportunity. When that time comes, I'll more than likely come to this staffing agency. The first time I decided to check out this company was back in 2014 hoping that they would be able to help me find a job since they were recommended by a friend. I walked in, did the skills assessments in office, spoke to someone (I can't remember her name) and then was told that I would hear back from them soon. Didn't really back from them until a month later after I found a job myself. Fast forward 4 years later and I decided to give them another chance since I thought maybe the experience would be better. I thought wrong. I walked in with my sister, we were both told to enter our info in their online application and send it to their two locations (Pearl City and Nimitz). Once we completed that, we met with 2 of the reps there. I'm not sure who my sister met with but I had Lindsey. She walked me through the process and it seemed to be pretty straight forward, and by the end of it, she had told me she'd send me the links to the skills assessment tests for me to complete that night. I called two days later following up on when I would get the skills assessment tests and left a message with someone at the front desk. Didn't hear back from anyone until the week after from someone else telling me that they were still waiting for me to take the tests. I told them I had never received it and had been over a week! They finally sent me the links to the tests that day and I completed them the next day. I even sent them a follow up email the day after just in case they somehow missed that I had completed the assessments. After that, I didn't hear anything, there was no follow up until 2 weeks later. Lindsey finally calls and says that they have some positions open and asked if I were interested. Since she started listing them out verbally and there was too much info, I asked if she could email me the details for those positions so I could review and get back to her. Guess what? NOTHING! Lindsey along with the person who helped out my sister have lacked in communication from the beginning, but it feels like the same could be said of everyone that works there since it has happened before. Also, the person who helped my sister, didn't even to call to follow up and ATTEMPT to try to assist her in job placement! She told me she was pretty much put down because of her lack of experience. Shouldn't it be their job to try and assist in trying to find a job that would help suit whatever experience she does have and build on it?? I was employed through Express Professionals as of last January this year and they had me work through one of the top companies in the state. There were other agencies that also were contracted with the same company and I am so happy to say that after working for 3 and a-half months, 3 of us individuals who are employed through Express are being hired on permanently!!! It was an amazing experience. Whatever questions you had Express was there to answer. They were lenient with your days off as long as you told them way in advance and even offered to find other employment if the current job was not working out. I had some personal health issues that I was faced with in the beginning of my employment and Express was kind enough to work with me on that. Its pretty awesome that throughout my employment at Express Professionals, they always had my back. If anyone I knew ever needed to get a job in the future... I definitely would recommend them. As always, she's been less communicative; I had to call her about my next steps with new employment after my supervisor called her about tomorrow being my last day. Finding good employees is so difficult - especially with the unemployment rate being so low. I've been utilizing a lot of staffing agencies and some just work better than others. I went here at the Nimitz location last year with my fiance to get a job and I had gotten interviewed by Lindsey. My experience was horrible, she was not able to help me get a job she was asking me questions that did not pertain to the position I was looking for. The person that interviewed my fiancé made her take a test to see if she qualified for a position that she did not even want. They did not even call us back to check up on us. And we felt that the employees there are very immature laughing and making jokes about us while we were interviewing (that's how we felt). I would not recommend to come here! read more

Three or four people respond to my email from express pros and when I try to call in to talk to one person name (Taryn) the front desk transfer me to her voice mail so I left a message to her. NEVER recd ANY call back instead some other female called me back and tell me to set up a appointment to come sit and talk so I did agree to set it up. That was on Friday afternoon. She told me she going to email a confirmation about the appointment but I never recd any email. they get all your information about you and what you looking for and after I left there I NEVER heard from them since. I'm familiar with computer and to me there are no a job that I cannot be training as a front desk person. I was very upset; she told me that the time that I've spent volunteering doesn't count for a job. The first time that I met with Mrs.Tini Tauvela the employment Consultant at Express Employment Professionals she did interview really fast almost like "robot" and I never heard from her again. Seems to me that she didn't have any interest on me after I had to come back for the test. which I did really good. Today when I called her to find out about my status, she said that the most companies are not interested in people with more than 2 years unemployed. Well let me explain my 2 years unemployment, first of all I have a son with ADHD that is very well manage, except when my husband deployed to Iraque that my son behavior had deteriorated and end up with depression. I had to quit my full time job so I would just volunteer, so when the school called me I would be ready for him. When my husband came back from Iraque we had to move from WA to HI. I kept my self busy, with volunteering and doing nails at home since I have a beautician license. I also have some college, and I worked in the bank for more than 8 years back in Brazil. I think I'm very qualify to work in any company entry-level, I see all the time people been training on the job.
