I really enjoyed the job they placed me in, and the staff is genuinely welcoming and helpful.

This company really deserves a ZERO - several times I have seen on Hiring platforms - 13 WEEK CONTRACT OFFERS. I was told by the Owner of this area, and the schedulers Contracts are NOT offered, nor placement that it is only a staffing agency. So please explain to the PUBLIC why CONTRACTS are being advertised on employment sites, yet employees told - that is NOT offered to anyone within the company. Don't waste your time with these folks! The value is not good at all, and NOT worth the headache! read more

I reached out to Express Employment, Oahu, looking for a job closer to home. I was already working for a company that I had to Uber to work and bus home in traffic. Bianca reached out to me within a day or so and interviewed me, virtually, and set me up with Tish for virtual onboarding so that I didn't have to take time off of work. Bianca immediately found me a temp to hire assignment within walking distance to where I live with an ethical company working as an HR Generalist. She is very professional, responsive and has a great caring personality. The owner, Chad, has stopped by twice to say hi and dropped off a gift for administrative day. I would definitely recommend Express Employment to anyone looking for work. read more

So you want to be apart of an agency that can help you get into your desired field of work while getting a higher than average pay? This is the place! So why the one star? Because Express does not care about their employees. Sure the pay is nice but putting their staff in harms way - yes, Im referring to the COVID-19 pandemic - is not worth it!! Most of my review pertains to the healthcare division of Express but the on-call number for staff is answered by rotating management from all divisions. Sometimes the on-call number isnt even answered when youre trying to call in sick. But when they do answer its never a consistent greeting or questions asked. I would not recommend this employer. read more

I applied for a position I found on Indeed and had two interviews the next day--one with Priagola, Criszalin, and the other with the company that was supposed to hire me. At the end of the interview, I was given a conditional offer, contingent on providing a clean driving history and obtaining a TWIC card. I spent money to fulfill both requirements, but after submitting all the requested documents and information, I never heard back. This has been a frustrating experience, especially since I've worked with several staffing agencies in the past and have never been treated like this before--they essentially ghosted me. I just moved here from mainland so hopefully this isn't the norm here with staffing agencies... read more

I just moved here from the mainland and seen on indeed this agency helps MA's and other professions find jobs. And it was the best decision I did there whole staff Jennifer Rowena are so helpful and got me working quick. Any questions I had or concerns I was helped with no problems. Never been to an agency before because of terrible things I heard but this agency proved me wrong, I highly recommend them to anyone in any profession. read more

They are great, initially. Then, it goes down hill from there. After finishing my contract with Express, I found out that they ended my contract a little before the holidays. So I didn't get holiday pay nor was a qualified for holiday pay at the main job. That's not the worst part. I'm bummed I didn't get holiday pay, but it's whatever's. I've been with Express for about 4 months then. I would've qualified for it. But they let me go where I was officially hired with the job. No holiday pay there. Now, I did not realize that they did not deduct any federal taxes from my paychecks. I have been trying to get in touch with them for a while via text. That is the only way I can get in touch with them while I'm at work. No matter how many times I try to text them, an automated message pops up saying that someone will be with me to help me. Nope. Nothing. I had double checked my W4 to see if it was my fault on my end. Nope. I did it correctly. I have been trying ti get in touch with the for a while. Last resort is to report them to the IRS for not deducting my federal taxes I guess. read more

I have one good thing to say and that is that their pay is good. Well I guess it better be because working for an agency means you're put in situations that you may not like, aka facilities. I am a Nursing Assistant, almost done with nursing school and as soon as I get my BSN I am staying FAR AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY. The working environment is toxic. The facilities that Express sent me are awesome, mostly all nursing staff understand that you're an agency employee and that you may need some extra help. Who made my experience horrible was Rowena and Roxanne, the people in charge of your schedule and facility placements. Come to find out that they're related. Who would have known. They start off friendly but at soon as you need shift changes or request to leave to start a new contract, they will turn into bullies. It's EXTREMELY saddening because all the facilities I've worked for have nothing but good things to say about my work ethic. In fact most, if not all have asked me to work at their facilities full time. I stared working with Express in 2021 but left because of Roxanne. Whenever I would call, all I got was a mean attitude and no help, until I spoke to her supervisor. I left immediately. In 2023 I came back and got directed to Rowena. Her relative (which for some reason they sound like the same person). She was no different than Roxanne. Both friendly until you need their help. At the end of the day, if you don't mind switching facilities, Which is what an agency typically insists of and don't mind attitude from the staff, than this company is for you. I tried to ignore them but can no longer do it. What is also upsetting is that after meeting other Express agency staff, they also had problems with Rowena and Roxanne but none of them spoke to their supervisors like I did. All I got to say is step up to these toxic bullies and ask for help. It really pays speaking to the higher ups!!! It's 2023 and we all deserve a healthy and positive environment!! read more

I was trying to find a new career opportunity, and Express Employment Professional was one of the agencies I work with. I could really tell the difference between Express Employment and other recruiting agencies. - to find proper employee or employers candidates, Express employment Professional knows what questions a recruiter should ask to job seekers, and I could tell the questions are standardized and professional. These questions can help both employers and employees to think more clearly, to know better how to pick the best fit. - Most recruiters try to match employers and employees only by background and experience. Let's say if Mr. A was in A industry, most recruiters will keep pushing related jobs in A industry to job seekers. Sometimes some recruiters made me feel they don't care that much about job seekers' will, but Express Employment doesn't make me feel that way. - Express Employment Professional followed up with me on regular basis regards to the details of the interview. (i.e., how's the interview? What did you and employer talk about in the interview?). They continuously helped me to book different interview appointments without keeping me waiting. - Some recruiters who talked to me, I could tell they didn't really know or didn't have enough knowledge about my profession and what knowledge a certain position needs, but Express Employment is not like that per my experience. The people I worked with were Sunny Cerelejia and Alexis X Dmitrenak-Dunn. read more

One typically reaches out to an employment company in order to get help landing a job. I called regarding a position that was posted on Express Employment's website. I met the qualifications including one year "recent" experience. After taking the summer off to stay home with my children I then prepared our family to move over 4000 from home for my husband's work. Now that we are here and settled in I am ready to get back into the workforce. It's been 6 months since I "worked". Apparently now all the experience that I have from the past 20 years isn't good enough. Because I haven't been employed outside the home in the last 6 months I'm out. My favorite part of the company's website: "Our long-term goal is at the heart of our company's vision, to help as many people as possible find good jobs by helping as many clients as possible find good people." Is it helpful to turn away a qualified candidate because she hasn't been employed in the last six months? Is it helpful to dismiss someone completely not knowing their unique situation? Is it helpful to turn down someone who has tried for the last month to find employment on her own and really needs a hand? Not so much. read more

I was supposed to receive a telephone call from T. Muller, Moana Pacific Security on 4/22/2022 @ 10:00 am. No call. I waited and called and spoke with Malia who stated that I should wait longer since she was busy and she didn't receive any information from T. Muller. I thanked her and waited until 10:33 am at which time I called again and spoke with Malia who still was unable to contact T. Muller to determine why I didn't receive my telephone interview. I am very disappointed. I also am frustrated because when I called earlier today, I was made to wait while the Express Employment Professionals were handling other calls. I realize that they are very busy, however, I am still very frustrated and disappointed. I will be working on my own to secure appropriate employment. Thank you. read more

I went here last week to meet with this staffing agency to help me find a RN job, I felt confident that the person I met with would be able to help me. The meeting went great, she explained the steps I needed to complete before moving forward which was taking assessments that she needed to email to me. At the end of our meeting she said she would send them to me via email right then and there. I waited all evening for the email with the links to the assessments, nothing. I then emailed her the next day to follow up and see if she could email the links thinking she may have just gotten busy and wasn't able to send them. I waited all day for a response, not even an email back apologizing or sending the assessments. I waited a few more days and emailed her again, no response as well. Rating: 0/5 Express Employment is a joke! I wasted a couple hours taking their tests and did not hear from them for over a month, which I was able to get a job on my own. What they do is call you in and tell you that they have an immediate opening. When you get their they tell you that you will have a company interview you after you take a test. Ya right! After you take a computer test, they tell you that they will contact you. WTF?! It's a waste of time! These guys are liars! http://express-personnel-services.pissedconsumer.com/ read more

I had the pleasure of working with Reid Kaneko of Express Employment and I must say he's a true professional. He asked questions and took the time to understand my needs. What I got was 3 qualified candidates within a week. The funny thing is a week later, I got to meet Chad Higa (one of the partners of Express) at a mixer. He's very friendly and passionate about his business. Getting to know Chad & Reid and also utilizing their service, I would have no hesitation recommending Express to any of my fellow business owners for their staffing needs. read more

Ask for Marissa, she's awesome! I've used Express many years ago, took a break from the work scene and decided to come back. Not knowing where to start my job search journey, I turned to Express for a little help in initiating the process. Low & behlod, it didn't take much for Express to find me a suitable position. Marissa listened to my vision and where I'd like to be, the type of company I'd like to work for and the environment I want to be around. She's very easy to communicate with (phone/email), always available to answer any questions and very reassuring/motivating. I had the good fortune to stumble upon ExpressPros while looking for another office where I had an appointment. I stuck my head in the door to find out more about them. In less than two hours, I was given access to a computer to submit my online application and had an immediate interview with a lovely young lady named Lindsey. Within a week, I was offered a temp assignment at a local real estate agency that would have been the ideal place to work (yes they offered me a position) if I was looking for permanent placement. Sunny was my point of contact during my assignment and was awesome with followup on how the assignment was going. Everyone I had contact with was very professional and accommodating in making sure I had everything I needed -- from hand delivering documents I needed to faxing a timesheet on my final day when I forgot and left my original home! I received a phone call from Lindsey with the offer of another assignment the day after my first one ended. Much like other recruitment agencies, in that they don't actually have jobs on and hope blasting your resume to hiring managers will help them get the role. Major difference: they have no idea HR wise on how to maintain employee relationships. They constantly have issues with their pay stubs and cannot fix common sense errors. I am convinced these people have no skills required for Human Resources Management. I had to even contact the corporate office on the mainland to reach out to the franchise owner to get an ongoing pay issue resolve. They also have some back door way of keeping their employees paying for their benefits when they are no longer their employee without giving them a chance to opt in or out, which is NOT specified in their agreement, no matter how much they try to defend it. The staff talk in circles, not knowing what they are trying to explain. Don't waste your time with these people, you can find a job on your own-trust me. There is no benefit to using them. Maybe my expectations are too high coming from a global recruitment agency on the mainland, but the people of Hawai'i deserve better. read more

I've never consulted with any other staffing agency prior to my employment at ExpressPros so it's hard to gauge where they fall but overall, I could not be any more satisfied with my current placement. Sunny and Roxanne (in charge of IT positions) were able to quickly setup an interview with my now current employer with respect to my request to keep my job search confidential. They carried out an excellent job in negotiating my desired pay rate in a timely manner. The only negative thing I can say is that I went in for another Craigslist post but was offered another (even better?) position. I received no details about the original posting so I thought I'd mention that it may have gone a different direction for someone else. Luckily for me, there was no need for that other position. I know in due time, I may be ready for an even better opportunity. When that time comes, I'll more than likely come to this staffing agency. They do such a great job everything else besides the interview seems automated. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The first time I decided to check out this company was back in 2014 hoping that they would be able to help me find a job since they were recommended by a friend. I walked in, did the skills assessments in office, spoke to someone (I can't remember her name) and then was told that I would hear back from them soon. Didn't really back from them until a month later after I found a job myself. Fast forward 4 years later and I decided to give them another chance since I thought maybe the experience would be better. I thought wrong. I walked in with my sister, we were both told to enter our info in their online application and send it to their two locations (Pearl City and Nimitz). Once we completed that, we met with 2 of the reps there. I'm not sure who my sister met with but I had Lindsey. She walked me through the process and it seemed to be pretty straight forward, and by the end of it, she had told me she'd send me the links to the skills assessment tests for me to complete that night. I called two days later following up on when I would get the skills assessment tests and left a message with someone at the front desk. Didn't hear back from anyone until the week after from someone else telling me that they were still waiting for me to take the tests. I told them I had never received it and had been over a week! They finally sent me the links to the tests that day and I completed them the next day. I even sent them a follow up email the day after just in case they somehow missed that I had completed the assessments. After that, I didn't hear anything, there was no follow up until 2 weeks later. Lindsey finally calls and says that they have some positions open and asked if I were interested. Since she started listing them out verbally and there was too much info, I asked if she could email me the details for those positions so I could review and get back to her. Guess what? NOTHING! Lindsey along with the person who helped out my sister have lacked in communication from the beginning, but it feels like the same could be said of everyone that works there since it has happened before. Also, the person who helped my sister, didn't even to call to follow up and ATTEMPT to try to assist her in job placement! She told me she was pretty much put down because of her lack of experience. Shouldn't it be their job to try and assist in trying to find a job that would help suit whatever experience she does have and build on it?? I swear, if I could give this place a zero star rating I would. Terrible customer service, terrible communication! read more

I was employed through Express Professionals as of last January this year and they had me work through one of the top companies in the state. There were other agencies that also were contracted with the same company and I am so happy to say that after working for 3 and a-half months, 3 of us individuals who are employed through Express are being hired on permanently!!! It was an amazing experience. Whatever questions you had Express was there to answer. They were lenient with your days off as long as you told them way in advance and even offered to find other employment if the current job was not working out. I had some personal health issues that I was faced with in the beginning of my employment and Express was kind enough to work with me on that. Its pretty awesome that throughout my employment at Express Professionals, they always had my back. If anyone I knew ever needed to get a job in the future... I definitely would recommend them. Express is super professional and cares about their employees! Glad I went through them and now my career is lifting off! If Express is reading this... Thanks again for everything! read more

Still working for the company I'm assigned to and it's going great! But If feel like communication from Lindsey has been lacking. She told me I was to end my probation in Dec 2017, then Jan 2017, then I wa to hear about it beginning on February. There's so much bull sh*t and beating around the bush with this agency. ***update*** 3/8/18 There's a lack of support from Lindsey. As always, she's been less communicative; I had to call her about my next steps with new employment after my supervisor called her about tomorrow being my last day. Dear Lindsey, if you really want to help the people you employ, you should actually make the effort to get them into more opportunities than what they're capable of, because you never know if something could actually work out. Some of us actually aspire to go above and beyond, but you buddy don't have faith. Go step on a Lego. read more

I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone who is looking to get hired as soon as possible! The moment they receive your request and availability they are quick to respond as well as quick with following up with potential customers/clients. My experience with them, has been nothing but great. Before applying with them, I was currently employed with a security company that no longer fit the schedule that I needed, so I started looking for other opportunities to grow and apply my skills, which lead me to Express Employment. The moment I submitted my application, I received a response from Malia, who did an amazing job in helping me start my on-board process, with following up with me on my submissions of paper work. She then referred me over to Marissa who handles office/clerical work for those that are interested in that type of work. Marissa was such an amazing help in matching the type of work that fit my interest and skills and was consistent with her follow up's with the company and with me. I'm very grateful for both Malia and Marissa as well as Express Employment for helping me find a job, that I hope I can make a career out of. I agree with John D. It is a joke!! the same here I took my time to get there for the interview, I took the test, but I didn't do well, so I asked for training on line that I can practice at home so I would be able to take a test and pass which was my goal. I know I did good except for the typing skill it needs to be improved. For the past 2 years I have been volunteering in the hospitals as front desk, files, and medical records. I'm familiar with computer and to me there are no a job that I cannot be training as a front desk person. I was very upset; she told me that the time that I've spent volunteering doesn't count for a job. The first time that I met with Mrs.Tini Tauvela the employment Consultant at Express Employment Professionals she did interview really fast almost like "robot" and I never heard from her again. Seems to me that she didn't have any interest on me after I had to come back for the test. which I did really good. Today when I called her to find out about my status, she said that the most companies are not interested in people with more than 2 years unemployed. Well let me explain my 2 years unemployment, first of all I have a son with ADHD that is very well manage, except when my husband deployed to Iraque that my son behavior had deteriorated and end up with depression. I had to quit my full time job so I would just volunteer, so when the school called me I would be ready for him. When my husband came back from Iraque we had to move from WA to HI. I kept my self busy, with volunteering and doing nails at home since I have a beautician license. I also have some college, and I worked in the bank for more than 8 years back in Brazil. I think I'm very qualify to work in any company entry-level, I see all the time people been training on the job. For the past 2 years I have been volunteering in the hospitals as front desk, files, and medical records.
