Felafel burger on Udis Gluten free bun and fries
Amy H.

Six Ethels converged on Remedy Burger on a weekday lunchtime. I ordered the felafel burger on a Gluten Free bun and fries. The small fries was a very generous portion. The felafel burger was delicious including the Udis gluten free bun. It was the best gluten free bun I had ever had. The waitress said that the chef grills it, which helps explain why it was so good. My friend to my right was very disappointed in her burger, which had been smashed. I think she was expecting a thick juicy burger. Very clean and welcoming. Wait staff were kind, patient and very efficient.

Enjoyed our visit in downtown Staunton. Tasty burger and fries. Attentive and friendly service. Clean tables. Few choices of draught brewskies. Burger pricing is a la carte with each condiment priced separately. Street parking is limited so we parked in public garage around the corner Only Gripe: Brewskis beer glass size is one size and tiny by tavern standards...I'd estimate 10 ozs. Can accommodate groups despite limited seating. Will return next time in Staunton

You be the judge! $2.75 for an undress poor semaseed bun? Quite frightening! We have having burgers in this very spot for over 30 years! These burgers are certainly over priced and no where near as the Beverly burger! But times has changed! It took over 15 minutes for two burgers and a basket of over priced fries $6 plus! I was pleased with burger but the over priced burger took away from the quality of the burger! Remedy sauce about a dollar! Service a tad slow! Great atmosphere! Lots of energy! The truth is a $2.75 extra charge is hard to swallow! All in all it was a bout $ 40 with tip and no beverage! To sum it up, Shakespeare said it best! Things without all remedy should be without regard: what's done is done. William Shakespeare, Macbeth

The most average thing ever. Was not worth the price at all. Service felt like being waited on by 12 year olds. The space is nice but it's super weird that I'm being seated and brought my food but yet have to get up and get my own drink. Just very mediocre, wouldn't come back.

This place is a hidden gem. We went here on a whim because burgers sounded good for dinner. We got the Remedy burger, the truffle fries, and chicken sandwich so could try a little of everything and we were pleasantly surprised and how big the portions were. The burger was full of flavor! And wow! The fries were easily top 5 best truffle fries. I would definitely stop by again when I'm in town.

My partner and I found ourselves in Staunton this weekend to celebrate my birthday. After a day of hiking in Shenandoah, we came back to the Airbnb and got ready to go out for some drinks and then burgers here at the Remedy. This place was absolutely a 5/5! First off, the service was great. Everyone was very friendly and all the food came out quick and fresh. I loved our waiter, he was so kind and answered all our questions with ease. For the food - the only thing I may pass on next time was the truffle fries. The fries didn't seem super seasoned themselves, it was just that they had the mayo and the parm on top. They were still pretty good, but I think I'd save a buck next time and just do regular fries to pair with the burger and add some salt. We split the Ballard burger and the Remedy (w/ bacon). These burgers were 10/10. The buns were fresh and delicious, the meat was fantastic and great smash-burger quality, all the toppings were fresh and everything was just *chef's kiss*. I'm going to be craving these burgers for a while, so I'll have to come back! The seasonal cocktail was so good, too, like a "drunk apple pie" cocktail. The ambience of the restaurant felt like an upscale burger joint, but it was still pretty casual. We had such a good time and I can't wait to come back!

Went in July and never did this review! The food was good, albeit, a little smaller than expected. The waitstaff were kind and attentive. The only issue we had with it was that the bill was initially combined and we aren't the type to split the bill evenly; we're paying for our own food. Location is good, a bit of walking, perhaps, but downtown Staunton is nice. Decor was a mix of like, kinda hipster-ish and MCM (retro); loved it. I would go again!

What burger dreams are made of. Omg the burger was fantastic. I love the crispy edge of a smash burger and boy do they deliver. Order the Remedy burger as-is and just live.

Disappointing. Disgusting. Does this look like a good burger to you? This may be dismissed as a simple hate review, but believe me, I don't hand out one-star reviews willy nilly. I went here specifically because of the reviews and the recommendations I had been hearing from people. It's difficult to describe the level of disappointment I felt after finally visiting this establishment, but I'll do my best. It's the fourth of July. Staff may be down, but business is steady. My fiancee and I are 2 of 12 people in the restaurant. We sat down at the bar and are greeted with a smile. After picking up our menus, I order a $4 canned beer and my fiance orders an $8 beer on tap. Pricy, sure, but nothing too out of the ordinary. We then see the prices of the burgers. Many of the burgers are priced between $13-$17. I remember my fiancee noting, "Man, these must be big burgers!" Then, we realized that for this price, they don't even come with fries! But again, we've had fancy burgers before, and not every fancy burger comes with fries. So we shrug it off, agree to share a pimento cheese burger, and give our order to the bartender. How long does a single burger take to cook? 8 minutes? 15 minutes? Maybe other items were also made to order, so a generous 20 minutes? My fiancee and I waited over 30 minutes for this one burger to come out. When we finally saw it, our faces dropped. It was burnt. It was a $15 smashburger. Small, and noticeably lacking the heaping amounts of pimento cheese we were expecting to see on a burger advertising "pimento cheese." Sliced into halves and primed for sharing, we tentatively picked up our lunch. Salt. That was the only flavor we tasted aside from burned patty. Salt, salt, salt, salt, salt. Not pimento cheese, not any other flavor advertised, but salt. It was, in a word, repugnant. That taste lingered in our mouths for over an hour. The people around us, who had also talked it up after our arrival, asked what we thought. We put on a smile and said, "The buns are great!" And they were. But if the best thing you can say about a burger is that the bun rocks, then your burger has hit rock bottom. 2 beers and smashburger without fries with tip cost us $35; $35 for a 30 minute wait and a stomach ache. I wish I could have experienced what others have experienced here, but I wouldn't recommend Remedy Burger to any of my family, friends, or hundreds of coworkers looking for a day of exploration in Staunton. Later that night, we went to Cook-Out- a fast food restaurant. We ordered a burger. It was a crappy, cheap, Cook-out burger. But it was better than Remedy.

The inside reminds me of a Chili's or Ruby Tuesday, but a bit darker. I think it's a nice atmosphere, appropriate for date night, a group, a family, etc. Our server (who has worked here for 3 years) was friendly and efficient. To start, we ordered a bowl of yesterday's soup special (She crab) and a small order of boiled shrimp. The soup was excellent, creamy, and with small pieces of crab throughout. The shrimp (six in the small order) were prepared well and came with a tangy cocktail sauce. The server brought over a loaf of their complimentary bread, which is actually three breads together in a single loaf. The bread was good (I preferred the dark loaf part) and came with a peach butter. We were told that the butters change periodically. The butter had pieces of peach in it (!) and we enjoyed the novelty. Our server mentioned that they also have a pistachio butter and maple butter. Yum. I ordered a salad with the balsamic vinaigrette dressing on the side. The salad itself was good - fresh, with crisp lettuce, tomato, cucumber, apple, almond pieces, etc. Then there was the dressing. Although I mixed the salad dressing in the cup before tasting it, when I did taste it, it was almost all oil with no discernible vinegar or other flavor. I kept stirring and tasting and nothing. So I abandoned the dressing. For entrees, my partner ordered the charbroiled salmon in herb butter with a side of broccoli. The salmon was prepared well and very tasty. I ordered the mahi-mahi, with the sun-dried tomato butter sauce on the side. The mahi-mahi was well prepared and tasty on its own. Honestly, I tasted the sun-dried tomato butter sauce and it was essentially whipped butter. I didn't think it added anything to the entree so I didn't use it. The potato came with butter and sour cream on the side. The potato was very good. Although we were full and not planning on dessert, the server came over with small cups of peppermint ice cream, calling it a "palate cleanser." It was very good and a nice touch. Other than the salad dressing and the sauce for the fish, it was an excellent meal in a nice atmosphere with good service. When we were leaving at around 7:00 pm, the line was out the door.

Grt them if you like ribs. My only regret and it was my own taste buds the bbq sauce needed some heat. My wife had chicken with artichoke hearts and sauce. She said it was tasty and the sauce sublime. Overall, a must dine at historic restaurant in Staunton.

We stopped in Thursday February 5, 2026. The cozy space, complete with a locally painted on the wall, gives it a warm, welcoming feel. In speaking with the matrade we learned the name of the restaurant comes from the Native American word that has become Shenandoah. After 20 years in business it's clear this place has deep local roots. The staff was friendly and attentive. Kyle, our waiter, did a great job and worked seamlessly with his teammates to make the experience memorable. We started with cocktails -- my wife had the Sage Advice and I had a classic Manhattan. Proper cocktails for sure! The crème brûléed cornbread and sweet potato bisque were standout starters. Probably could have stopped eating after those starters...For mains, my wife loved the pork loin and I enjoyed the pan-seared trout. We finished with the banana mousse, which was absolutely amazing! Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're passing through Staunton. definitely worth the stop.

1950's type place restaurant/diner. A modern retro jukebox plays constant 1950's rock and roll…read more Ate there once in 1984, over forty years ago. Much of the 1950's decor has not changed. This place started around 1952. The order was given from a touch tone phone at the table to the front counter. We thought tnat some of the younger customers would not know how to use a dial telephone. Drive through service is also available, as it has been since the 1950's. Ordered a burger basket (burger and fries) $8., a chicken tender basket (five chicken tenders with fries) $11.50, onion rings, chocolate malted milkshake, chocolate ice cream dish, We got the food in about fifteen minutes brought to our table. Very reasonable. The 2 oz burger that I received was worst of all the items that I had. It was tasteless and reminded me of a smalll burger at Burger King. 1.5 stars. do not recommend it. We hope that the recipe for the burger would be improved. The crinkle cut French fries were average 3 to 3.5 stars and not plentiful. Could have used more. The onion rings were one of the two great items that we had. They were very good in every way. 4 plus stars. My mallted milk shake was good and the price was reasonable. It was appropriate for a 1950's restaurant. 4 stars. The chicken tenders were large had good taste. 4 stars. Rolls came with the chicken tenders. They were soft and had good taste. 4 stars. The chocolate ice cream, along with the onion rings was the standout best item that we had. 5 stars for the chocolate ice cream. It was creamy with a deep chocolate flavor and the ingredients in it were quality ingredients. Loved it. We enjoyed the good music with the meal. Everyone who worked there was very nice to us, including the manager. We will love to dine there again and hope that it can be soon. Thank you for the nice 1950's style food.
