Remedy Auto Clinic
This is a small shop on Dow Road in Melbourne, run by one man, Fred West.
Around 6 months ago, I went in for an oil change. He told me that my oil pan had the wrong size plug. I've owned this car for 4 or 5 years and never heard that before. Plus the fact that the oil never leaked. But I've gotten screwed by every mechanic I know.
So, Fred West says I need a new plug. Doesn't cost much, so put it in.
6 months later, I need my next oil change. I went back to Remedy Auto Clinic, or tried to.
I called, no answer. Left a message, no response. I went the shop, Fred was there but kept the doors locked. So I went to another mechanic. Then I was told the plug was a double size bolt, so the job couldn't be done. I went to several mechanics, they all said the same. I was forced to replace the oil pan, an expensive job to be done.
I called Remedy Auto dozens of times, no answer. Left messages, again no response. I finally made contact with Fred when he left his shop door unlocked. I want compensation. Just cover the bill for the oil pan job and we'll call it even. Fred says No. Insisting he bought a 'double size' plug directly from the dealership. So that's where I went. A 'double size' plug does not exist, only one size is made. They also have no account with Remedy Auto Clinic.
I already caught him in multiple lies and obtained statements from the other mechanics.
When I returned to try and reason with him, he had the police issue me a trespass warning.
