My family and I moved to Melbourne about two months ago, and since we don't know anyone here yet, finding a trustworthy mechanic was a worry. My truck had been running hotter than normal at red lights, and every shop I called wanted to charge over $100 just to run a pressure test. When I called Quality Car Care on Wickham Rd., I spoke with Sam, the owner. Right away he stood out--he told me to bring the truck by and said he would check it for free, explaining that he doesn't charge people for a simple pressure test that only takes a few minutes. He found a crack in my radiator, showed it to me, and replaced it for a very fair price. A few days later, I started having another issue, and after installing a new fan clutch myself, the truck sounded like the engine was revving way too high. I was worried it might be a transmission problem. Once again, Sam told me to bring it in. He looked at it right away and called to let me know the issue wasn't the transmission--it was the faulty fan clutch I had installed that wasn't disengaging. Throughout all of this, Sam was honest, patient, and never tried to upsell or take advantage of the situation. He helped me understand what was going on, didn't charge me for things he didn't need to, and treated me with genuine respect. Sam and Quality Car Care are truly an asset to the community. Hans and Walt have done amazing work on my BMW, they are very professional and know their stuff when it comes to imports and domestic cars.

We had problems with our a/c in our VW rabbit and went to the dealer, they said compressor was running low presser and needed to be replaced, est. $1,000. We decided to stop by Quality and get a second opinion. They tested the gauges and said the compressor was fine but the fluid level was low. Added a dye to the freon and replaced two valves, high and low pressure. plus added .5 Freon, evacuate and recharged system. Total cost $126. A/C is running like new, will go back anytime we have car problems. Trustworthy business. No appointment necessary and took less than 45 minutes. Thanks Hans and guys. read more

Work truck broke down, had to get towed in to quality auto. They looked at it right away, figured out the problem & priced it out. So late in the day, its a big job, wouldn't finish it the same day. Told me approximate time it would be finished the next day. So left the truck. Called the next day & told me it was finished. Picked the truck up earlier than expected, paid the exact price quoted, the truck was fixed right the 1st time, no problems from the repair job. AC compressor was replaced along with the serpentine belt. Have used them before, very trustworthy! Would come back again! read more

I was visiting Melbourne this past week and weekend and on the way into town, I smelled a rubber burning odor from my front end of my 2008 Town and Country mini van. As soon as I got my camper set up, I googled mechanics near me, and saw the 5 star ratings, and called Hans at Quality Auto Repair. I am an elderly woman who was totally shocked at the service I was given here. This is a RARE mechanic shop. In a GREAT way. I took the van over about 4PM on Thursday and Hans' great mechanic quickly figured out where the burning rubber odor was coming from, and he ordered the part for me. When they couldn't deliver it until 9:30 Friday AM, Hans personally drove after closing to pick up the part for the next morning. I have limited mobility and needed to be at Native Rhythms Festival at Wickham Park by 9AM to get good parking for the day. They told me the car would have to cool off, and said they open at 8AM. I told him I would be there at 7:30 so it could cool down to hopefully get me to the festival early enough to get my good parking. I got to the shop, and both he and his mechanic came in 30 minutes early and the mechanic started removing the wheel and the worn out pulley right away so they could replace it. They realized then that the seal was bad that attaches to the crank shaft I think of the engine, so Hans again got in his car, raced to the parts store and got back in short order with the seal. Mechanic put seal on then the new pulley and I was out of there and at the NRF by 9AM. UNBELIEVABLE service. I felt the price of 290 was excellent too for what they had to do. This is a TRUSTWORTHY business who gives WAY BEYOND the expected service at a reasonable price. And to an old lady from out of town. That says a LOT about this business. It is a FACT!!!!! read more
