I came in to mail photos and momentos retrieved from my father's place…read more He had just passed away and I needed to ensure the items made it from Amarillo to Pennsylvania. It was early afternoon on Tuesday August 2nd. The one employee was helping a young man and this incredibly kind young woman came to help me. She tried one size box and in the process noticed that one of the items came from BSA Hospice. She wasn't happy with how the items fit and changed boxes. She made sure a frame was wrapped well in bubble wrap and wrapped the prayer shawl separately so the white would stay white. When she was done, she came around the counter and gave me a hug. I am so sorry I did not get her name but she made such a difference for me during a terrible time. Everything arrived intact and I'm very appreciative for her sensitivity.

On 6/16 I went to look for ink for my new printer. I mention NEW because I was going to need help…read morein finding the correct ink for this printer. There were three people close by, the cashier helping a customer and another employee standing close to them and having a conversation with the customer. I walked closer to them thinking that the extra employee that was conversing could help me. I asked if they could get someone to help me in the ink department. The conversing employee looked my way, clearly annoyed, and said "yes." I asked, "Yes what?" He then told me that the person in charge of ink was busy but as soon as she finished she would help. I went back to the ink department and a short time after, the ink lady came over. She helped me in picking the ink. I asked if I could see peak to a manager about the rude employee. She pointed to the rude employee and said he was a manager. I asked if there was as someone higher than him. I told her about the condencending manner that he had treated me. She said she would report it to the store manager. I wound up not buying anything because a store who has managers that are rude to customers doesn't deserve my business. My experience with other companies is getting managers who are more knowledgeable and friendly than a regular employee. Clearly that is not too he situation at Office Depot

I called the same store this morning and the same clerk told me there isn't a manger on the schedule today and he doesn't know when one will be in. I can't seem to get any help from this store.

Overall, I felt like a bother to this employee. She stated to me that one of my packages was USPS. Confused as to the relevancy, I asked if I wasn't able to mail this at their store. (I thought the commercials I've seen stated I could.) She told me I needed to put the package in the yellow box. I looked around, but she didn't tell me where the yellow box was. It felt obvious that I was trying to find this mysterious yellow box. After a few seconds, I asked where the yellow box is, and she said, "by the door." At the end of the transaction, when she was silent, I said "thank you," and she replied "no problem." I don't expect royalty treatment by employees but also don't like feeling like I'm a bother. I strongly suggest customer service training to understand better how to make your customers feel valued and appreciated so they will return.
