After spending over $7,600 and enduring three separate, lengthy visits, the AC system is still not working properly. My initial visit was on June 2nd because the AC wasn't blowing cold air. They replaced the schrader valves and performed an evac and recharge. A few weeks later, the warm air returned. On the second visit, they covered the cost of replacing one of the schrader valves again but then recommended a full replacement of the AC compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator core for the front system. This was a costly and extensive repair that was severely delayed due to a faulty OEM part being sent, leaving me without my vehicle for about a week. Still, the issue persisted. On the third visit, they determined the problem was with the rear AC system, recommending the replacement of the rear expansion valve and evaporator core. Again, this repair was delayed by a wrong OEM part, extending the time I was without my vehicle yet again. While the system is finally blowing cold air, it is still not functioning correctly following all the extensive repairs: - The airflow is significantly reduced--it no longer blows as hard as it did before these repairs began. This issue seemed to start after the second, major front-end repair. - We now get condensation forming on the windshield when the AC is running. Air is incorrectly coming out of the defrost vents by the window without the defroster being activated. These new operational issues, which were not present before, strongly suggest something was not put back together correctly during the multiple teardowns and rebuilds of the front dash. Given the continuous misdiagnoses, parts delays, and the fact that I've invested over $7,600 for a system that now has new defects, I feel incredibly taken advantage of and very disappointed. One of the items they identified was the old serpentine belt wrapped around the axle. Apparently it was too much work for them to pull it off because it's still there. They replaced the valve cover gasket, did an oil change and replaced the existing belts. There is lots more to get done including the timing belt. My son called back to get a price for all the parts and labor which was almost $300 more than the next shop we called in the area. I am not saying they are a bad shop, but these few issues plus some communication problems will make me think twice.

However, the car continued running poorly, ran hot, and had ongoing starting issues. I returned the car on August 21st. They kept it for 10.5 weeks without resolving the problem, with very poor communication. Then they sent it to another shop (not one I approved) for an additional 6.5 weeks. After 17 weeks total, the starting issue was still not fixed. I picked up my car on December 12th and within miles of picking it up, the check engine light came on. A different shop I chose later, looked at my car for 15 minutes and found that the PCV system was installed incorrectly and the car still had a stock tune. After correcting those, the car runs much better, runs cooler, but the starting issue remains, and is most likely a cam sensor. Not only did I have to pay my car payment and insurance for the 4 months I was without my car, but I also had to pay another shop to tune it and fix the PCV system. I tried to address this issue directly with the owner before leaving a review, but he was defensive, and unwilling to work toward a resolution. I also submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau in hopes of resolving the matter. After spending thousands of dollars and dealing with months of delays and poor communication, I cannot recommend this shop, and I won't even use my loyalty rewards to get a free oil change at this point.

So I left the car and got an estimate a couple of hours later with $7,500 worth or recommended repairs, including a new master cylinder, brakes shoes, new hoses and tires, system flushes, etc. etc. I literally told them that that I didn't want to spend a lot of money and really only wanted the brakes looked at. It's an old car and I get that it has a lot of stuff that is wearing out.
