I've had good experiences with Reliable with the past, but this winter has convinced me to contract with a different company to shovel the snow next winter. They have not been out all week and we have 3+ feet of snow on our paths. When I called I was told that they would come tomorrow or the next day. This is a much delayed review, but I want to give a big thumbs up to Reliable Services. We've owned a home in Kings Beach for about two years now, and have been slowly figuring out how to get work done. When we bought the house, the bedroom deck was falling apart. This was a priority project and we talked to several construction companies and contractors that I found on Next Door, and struck out several times. Lots of no shows, and even ended up paying one construction company and we had to part ways with no work completed. We were frustrated. We knew Reliable Services, because they had helped us out on a few handyman projects but I hadn't realized they do construction projects also. I chatted with them about it in passing and before I knew it, we had a project scope, timeline, and budget. Not only did they commit to the work, they completed it within the time frame and reasonable budget we discussed. And it's beautiful!! We couldn't be happier. I believe my wife may have posted but I cannot find the post. If I could give negative stars I would. The company was hired for snow removal on my roof last winter. The snow removal was fine. The next day I had a roofer out to find and repair a leak in my roof - the reason I called reliable was to clear snow to find the leak. It is important to note that the roof was installed in 2019 and nobody had been on the roof since the original installation. It is also important to note that we selected reliable because they were licensed bonded and insured and felt confident that they would stand by any work they performed. When the roofer arrived the next day they noted that the roof had been severely damaged with slice marks, as if by shovels. The roofer also noted red marks at several of the damaged portions. We contacted reliable services and they said that they have never had complaints like this before and dismissed our claims. I then put together a summary of the evidence leading me to suspect reliable services as the cause. Reliable services then sent the claim to their insurance provider. At this point I was very pleased. I thought this was resolved. I thought that reliable services had accepted responsibility and the insurance company would determine how much the claim would be. I was very disappointed all the insurance company said was that there was no proof that reliable services caused the damage. There was no alternative cause. Turns out that reliable services did not provide the information I provided and it seems that we needed video of reliable services doing the damage of for them to have signed their work. We have now provided the pictures with the red to the insurance company and they are ignoring us. Since I have had to pay13000 for the damaged section to be replaced. Winter is coming and I could not wait. I have also contacted a lawyer and am preparing to sue. I hate to lawyer up by people doing the right thing is too much to expect. If I have to spend 13000 to a lawyer to get 13000 I will. And I am sorry, but an insurance company denying a claim is not proof of innocence to anyone who has dealt with insurance companies. read more

This is just a quick note to tell you how THRILLED I am with the closet system installation job that Rafael Alamilla did today!  Not only was he courteous, friendly, and prompt (early, even!), but his workmanship and attention to detail were exemplary.  My closet is now so much more useful and practical.  I mean, really, who needs 10 feet of hanging rod in a vacation condo?  Not even me, let alone short-term vacationers. Rafael was even able to recycle a couple of 16-inch pieces of the old hanging rod and overhead shelf to make good use of some dead space at one end of the new unit.  This closet upgrade has allowed me to take out a large dresser that made the bedroom over-crowded, while adding more useful storage space - open shelves for shoes and clothes, several drawers, and still three hanging bars. Worst experience I've had with a vendor. I waited a week to write this review. I don't like writing bad reviews but felt this review had to be written. Last summer I contacted RS looking for landscaping/erosion control work to start the next spring on a property that I manage. I received the contract & everything looked like it was on track. I've managed properties off & on for decades as a side thing & was also on the board of a local HOA so was happy I found RS as they say they take care of all your needs - see quote I found on this Yelp page from Billy the manager of RS "One call does it ALL! We offer landscaping design & maintenance, BMP's, electrical, defensible space, hauling ,irrigation, handyman services, house cleaning, caretaking, painting/staining, moving, spa servicing, snow removal, & more. Our friendly and professional staff..." False advertising. Everything went smooth with the landscaping part but when it came time to find someone to fix other issues RS had to outsource to a 3rd party & the ball was dropped most of the time. I thought I was getting 1 stop shopping. I would call RS to ask the status & was eventually told that RS doesn't really handle the fix I was asking about & sourced it to a 3rd person. When I spoke with Billy, the manager, I let him know I was confused; is it one stop shopping or do I need to contact the 3rd party person? He stated that he'll help me this time but in the future it would be best to contact the third party person - confusing. I'm happy to contact that person but want to know which is it - is RS one stop shopping or do I need to find the repair person or do I get their number from RS? So after that when I needed a repair I was apprehensive - am I supposed to call RS? When I did the "friendly" attitude mentioned above didn't happen. So I wanted to keep trying to see if we could work together. 2 of our dryers went on the brink. I called RS late Feb of this year. I let them know that 2 dryers weren't working on the same property.RS had someone come out who looked at 1 dryer & didn't look at our other dryer. We live in a large house that has a studio on the bottom floor that is used by me & the two floors above are used by a family so that's why there are 2 dryers. I contacted the folks upstairs to see if their dryer had been fixed. Their dryer had been looked at & a part was being ordered; ok why didn't someone look at my dryer? So I called once a week for three weeks & never got a call back. This was when we were having 1 of the biggest storms we've ever had. When I spoke to the girl that answered the phone (Lucy I think) I let her know that I just wanted to make contact to see what was happening with the dryer part & then, when will my dryer be looked at. Is the part available - on back order? I let her know that I understood if someone couldn't come out I just wanted the info. No call backs. The last phone call I made to RS I was told by Lucy that Billy was on a call - I said I'll hold. Then Lucy came back on the line & said he was in a meeting - sure. At this point I'd had it. I let her know that when I get off of the phone I'm going to write a Yelp review & you know what? That worked because I received a call within 5 minutes by an irritated Billy. It escalated from there with both of us raising our voices. I stated to Billy 5 times during the conversation the obvious - all of this could be avoided if I had received a follow up phone call. Billy stated "you never called me!" I called RS & left a message not sure what happened after that. Billy preceded to say to me "don't you know what we're dealing with? A natural disaster!" I stated colorfully that I do live here & understand - again a return phone call... Voice raised Billy said "there are people without power & food!" Again I live here & for the first time in a long time we didn't have power outages - it was definitely tough for people here but we're not located in Soda Springs or other remote areas. Raley's/Safeway were stocked & open. Yes I was well aware of the massive storms we were having & the complications they were causing. My meds hadn't been delivered due to roads being closed so I ran out, and, the withdrawals are horrendous along with not getting the proper medication in my system to help sustain the symptoms. I work with businesses in town; 1 being in the snow removal business. I contacted them to see when our snow would be removed & they answered the phone with a smile in their voice. The snow removal company are professionals that handled the storm mess & put me at ease. We communicated & I decided to wait a day for snow removal so they could take care of more critical issues. I was told if I did need them to come out same day that they would be happy to. All it takes is communication & professionalism. I let Billy know that we won't be needing their services and his reply was "I don't care!" Billy let me know if I wrote a Yelp review he would respond. Go ahead. read more

"UN -Reliable" snow removal service. It was necessary for me to call Rebecca many times (who is really nice) to get service as contracted as they missed me many times. They damaged my property! Billy the supervisor was unprofessional, rude and is an angry person; he dismissed the damage and refused address the property damage and/or meet me at the property. It took months and legal threats and persistence for the owner Keith Fertala to make it right and repair the damage they caused. They then cancel your service instead of practicing the golden rule of customer service - they use displacement and give you the run around. Worked with Billy Doyle for snow removal on a per time basis. When it snowed just under the required 4 inches, we were first to be plowed (sometimes at 5:30am!). When harder snow hit, we were last. Despite the excuses, it was obvious what was going on. Pursuant to the snow contract, you must pay a deposit for the first ten removals. Anything after four removals will be refunded. Instead of paying me the $210 he owes, BD is arguing that the contract means something different? Being in contract with Billy for snow removal has been nothing but disappointment and stress. Despite what the website says, "To honor God in the servicing of our clients....", I find BD to be completely unethical in his business dealings. Recently my heat went out with 5 feet of fresh blocking the basement entrance and Billy got a crew over to dig it out for my repairman. Saved the day, saved my guests vacation and my pipes! We have lived in IV for 18 years and have had excellent snow removal services in the past. For the first time, this winter we hired Reliable Services and they have done the worst job ever, in removing snow from our driveway. There is a lack of communication between their manager and the hired hands and they send different people every time, who don't know what they're supposed to do. They have a bad reputation in IV and people in our neighborhood refer to them as "Unreliable Services." I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I still use them. Billy is awesome. When you live on top of the mountain and it's hard to dig out, these guys are there. It's easy for me to call and get add on services (deck snow removal and summer time care) - i can easily call the office if I need something. I moved to a home in Incline this December 2015. We need snow removal services for a our driveway but more importantly for a flat part of our roof with this El Nino winter. RELIABLE has been fantastic: early, on time, and thorough. I also needed them for two 'emergent' this winter issues and they were they the same day with only a few hours notice. Very Good, but not quite as reliable as some. For big jobs, they tend to really overcharge - and be sure to get EVERYTHING in writing. And after all that you will probably have to call them back to finish and correct. For smaller jobs they charge by the hour, their guys are great and very personable and I would highly recommend them. read more

This place is literally incredible. At first I just thought it was for snow removal, but then I heard that they can provide for anything I need. I vacation in Tahoe at my rental vacation property several times a year and the last thing that I want to do is call a bunch of different service companies to get my place ready for any upcoming season. Instead, I just call Reliable Services and they take care of EVERYTHING. If I need my place cleaned, they can do it. If I need roses in every room before one of my guests show up, they make it happen. They have even done my grocery shopping and had it ready for me when I arrived on my vacation. I live in Incline Village and decided this was the year to get snow clearing service. I signed on with Reliable Services. While checking their site I found out they also do LOTS of other jobs needed when maintaining property. I had two big piles of wood chips that needed spreading over bare spots in the yard and little time to get the job done. I called Reliable. They quoted me a fair price and could come out a few days after the recent rain. Guys were pleasant, well spoken, and hard working, completing the job in a timely fashion.
