In late December 2026, my garage door opener was not working. At 1pm I called Reliable Electric and they had an electrician at my front door by 3pm. The electrician quickly identified the problem and fixed another one, too. Next day, the garage door opener failed again. Amazinly, Reliable Electric came within 2 hours. They found the root cause of the problem and fixed it. Later in the day I broke what they fixed. Next morning was Christmas Eve. I called Reliable Electric thinking there was no way they could show up again, especially on Christmas Eve. Within 2 hours their electrician was at my door and came up with an even better solution to my problem For response, skill and honesty I give Reliable Electric 10 out of 10. Thank you very much!!!! read more

I had a breaker issue in my duplex and I called these people at 8 am. They has to call my landlord and get the appointment approved and set up before they could come. They called me at 3 and said they had someone available and they could be there in 20 to 30 minutes. I had a super friendly guy named Jeremy show up at 3:15. He came in and I showed him the issue and he had everything fixed and working within ten minutes. He walked around and made sure every plug that wasn't working was working, and he went over the breakers with me to let me know what powered what. I would absolutely recommend Reliable Electric! read more

I was somewhat desperate to get the power on in my garage where my large freezer and xfinity services are plugged in. I discovered the power in the garage was off around 5pm on Thursday afternoon (after a PSE outage that lasted for about ninety minutes starting around noon). Thankfully, I have a neighbor who loaned me an extremely long extension cord so I could at least get my freezer running. Friday morning I phoned a different electrician, but they would not be able to come out till Wednesday next week. I then phoned Reliable around 11am, and they were able to fit me in the same day. The nice service person arrived around 2:30 pm, located the failed outlet, replaced it and had everything working in about 20 minutes. I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Reliable. Everything immediately began working perfectly. read more

Office "professional" just hung up on me! Billed for circuit replacement "circuit was overloaded" after they updated another circuit. No difference in what the circuit had been used for but would black out the lights and receptacles. Sent us to collections after I had previously called. It was our fault but won't explain why the one replacement would create a shortage on another. Then she refused to talk to me as the bill was under my 85 year old mothers name. I said, " seriously". And hang up. read more

I called Reliable Electric to have an overhead light fixture in our house checked because it no longer worked (though my husband and I had just changed the bulb). The first electrician was wonderful; he confirmed that the wiring on the fixture was kaput and we needed a new base. When the second electrician came out weeks later for the installation, it was a different young man, who was also very professional. Our complaint is with their billing process, which needs to be more transparent up-front. My husband and I were surprised to receive a second bill that was even more than the first one. After the electrician installed the new electrical base in the ceiling and placed the original cover back on, I asked him to give me an opinion about the possibility of a ceiling fan in the living room. He looked at it and decided to go up into the attic. Because it was entirely his idea to go into the attic, I honestly didn't know that we were being billed. All I originally asked for was his opinion - not for work! When I called to discuss the "disconnect" between the amount on the two invoices in comparison with the amount of work done (and requested), the woman on the phone was not particularly helpful or receptive to my concerns. She said "Unfortunately, our electricians can't work for free," which was not my message at all. She also said she would look into it and call me back. Two weeks later, when she still hadn't called, I contacted the office again. This time, the phone was answered by a different woman who was quite friendly and receptive, but who didn't want to get involved. She suggested I leave a message on the phone of the first person, which I did. In short, while I still recommend Reliable Electric because of the skill and customer service of their electricians, be aware that you will be charged for every second they are in your house - even if it is for something that you didn't ask for. Our total bill for replacing an overhead light fixture was $375, which I think is pretty steep for what was described as a small job. read more

This company is awesome. It took 5 weeks to get an appt (having numerous light fixtures installed) but other than that they were amazing. I am guessing they are so booked because they are the best electricians in the area. They are reliable (as their name suggests), reasonable, and decent people. I had about 12 fixtures changed out in my house - they charged an hourly rate, which I appreciated as I didn't have to guess or wonder what the charge would be. Very nice, professional group of people. I will use them in the future if I need another electrician. read more

Needed a couple of outlets added and they responded quickly and the job was done within the hour.

Removing a star because they've been difficult to reach and schedule work. They don't seem to handle email very well.

Not at all reliable! Gary came to my place more than 2 weeks ago and he said he would get me an estimate in a couple of days. I waited for a few days before calling and was told that they are very busy so i called after a week and then again the week after and got the same response. On top of that the lady who answered the phone said "we are booked until May so...", which is an idiotic response because i called for an estimate and not to set up an appointment for the actual job. Secondly no one takes more than 2 weeks for an estimate. Instead of making excuses do your job! read more

I had Reliable Electric out to check a thermostat, wall heater and electrical panel in the home I recently purchased. When the technician arrived, he was clearly upset and even angry once I reviewed my Ring camera footage. He refused to test my electrical panel to check the 2 breakers that my home inspector said had issues and were overheating. He did ask if my water heater was working because it looked like that breaker was tripped. He also indicated that my panel was 20 years old. Even after knowing this, he did not want to do any testing to see if the breakers were working correctly. Once inside, I indicated that I thought the thermostat was broken and needed to be replaced first. I let him know I'd be in the next room if he needed me. Shortly after, I walked into the room while he was taking off the thermostat and he stated, "it just fell apart in my hand". To my surprise, he had already replaced my wall heater. I do not believe he tested the heater before replacing it. I did not feel comfortable saying anything at the time, so I called the office the following day to request my "broken" heater. The receptionist said I could come in to get it, but their trash picks up at 9am. I asked if someone could pull it out for me and she said, "we aren't going to dumpster dive". At that time, I left a message for Gary to call me. The following day I called back and left a message on his personal voicemail. I waited 2 days and called again as I had not heard back. I was able to speak to Gary. He explained that the tech tested my heater by taking off the thermostat and wiring it directly to see if I worked. This was a blatant lie as I saw that the thermostat was still on the wall after my heater had been replaced. I conveyed my concern, and he could care less. I also asked if someone else come out and test my breakers as per my original request or be charged 1/2 hour which was the time spent at my home. To my dismay, he laughed at me and said he'd talk to the owner, but the owner refused to come back out or only charge a 1/2 hour. He said I'd be charged their 1-hour minimum charge due to drive time, which I was never told about. According to their website, I am within their service area and no minimum charge is stated. I do not recommend this company and feel I was taken advantage of. Once I received the bill in the mail, I was charged a $145 Service call and 2 hours of drive time at $105 per hour plus the cost of the heater and thermostat. Again, there was no mention of being charged for drive time. This company has highly unethical business practices in my opinion. I paid the bill under protest and will never use them again. I highly recommend calling a different company for your projects. Thank you for listening. read more

Excellent company highly recommend. Reliable does the electrical for our building in downtown Olympia on the commercial side. Dan is really responsive and knowledgeable about his craft. John is the same. Bunch of friendly guys who explain complicated procedures in simple terms. Really just a good group. We have called them from things such as ballast replacements within our lights to power outages to breaker malfunctions to even wiring for our building remodel and each time they have been great. Best electricians within the area. read more

Big thanks to Reliable Electric, especially to John, who very politely and efficiently diagnosed and repaired the electrical problem I was having at my apartment. Although it took me being without a hot water heater or stove/oven for TWO WEEKS, John got it done, without me having to blow a gasket at him, like I did with the managers office at The Timbers apartments. Through no fault of my own, the electric feed from the main breaker box to my apartment, at the other end of the building, became corroded, causing me to lose electricity. Not one word of condolence or offer of any compensation from the apartment managers, but John at Reliable got the job done. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! read more

I had a bathroom exhaust fan that needed repair and several light fixtures that needed to be replaced. When I called Reliable, they gave me a service date/time and came just as promised. The service technician, Micah, did an excellent job. He was efficient and pleasant. Their pricing was fair and I give Reliable my highest recommendation. read more

I will start with the good. They were fast. They came out to the house to install a 14-50 plug in our shop (open beams and open wall studs, nothing hidden by drywall, etc.) the very next week after providing their quote. The quality and timing of the install was great (the reason for the 2 stars instead of 1). HOWEVER, from there everything went downhill when we received the invoice. The "free" estimate was no longer free; the time it took to do the work was inflated and the amount of supplies to do the job was also inflated - remember there is no drywall to hide the actual measurements of the wire installed. When we called to talk about the invoice they were defensive and rude. A clear sign of trouble - they just want you to pay whatever they bill, no questions asked. After multiple attempts they finally changed their invoice but only by a little bit. We will definitely not use this company again. Lessons learned: be sure to get a written quote; check your invoices closely for up-charging. read more

Reliable Electric is such a great company! They have done numerous projects at our home as we've remodeled, and always been professional, helpful and most importantly quality in the electrical service they provided. One of the worse services we have ever received. They had someone who didn't know how to install a canned Light come and he sat here reading directions and moving super slow, for a job that should've taken an hour it took him over 2.5 hours! When they send us the bill they charged us for2.5 hours even though they had quoted us for 1 hour! I called to correct it and the receptionist was rude, not accommodating and told us she wouldn't do anything. Will never ever do business with them again and will make sure all our friends and family know. read more

Super impressed with Tyson and the quality of his work. He was kind, professional, personable, and did a beautiful job on hanging a full days worth of fixtures. Competitive pricing also! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Reliable Electric after attempting a do-it-herself on my kitchen light fixture! After calling two other "highly rated" businesses to be told they were too busy and one never called me back after they said they would I decided to give Reliable a shot. I called at 3 pm & explained to Brennan that I needed some help getting my kitchen lights working after I had disconnected all of the wires from the ceiling (reminder to self to take picture first). Brennan said he had a guy who was done early & would check to see if he could swing by. At 3:15 Brennan called to tell me Mike was on his way! Mike arrived and was very friendly & explained where I had made my wiring mistake & within 15 minutes had my fixture connected & all the lights working again! I will definitely call on Reliable Electric again. They understand customer service. The other two businesses had a 5 star rating but their customer service - no stars! read more

The thermostat for our kitchen electric baseboard heater went out. When I called the scheduler was very pleasant but told me they were back logged by about 10 weeks. I was quoted a minimum of $115 for the first hour and $90 an hour after that. Since I didn't want to wait, they offered to put it on their job list for an electrician to do at the end of the day when they finished their last job early. Just over a week later, we got a call that an electrician was available. The electrician was able to replace the thermostat quickly. He then removed the 4 old light fixtures I wanted replaced in the kitchen/dining area, installed new cut-in boxes for 3 of them, put up the 4 new light fixtures I had purchased and put in the LED light bulbs for me. My bathroom baseboard heater had not been working well. He took off the plates and verified it was receiving power and the problem there was not the thermostat. He recommended picking up a new baseboard heater and giving them a call to install it if it continued to be a problem but for some reason it is working again so I will probably have to do that in the future but not just yet. The electrician was amazing. He managed all of the above in an hour and a half. I received my bill last night. It ran $166 for everything including the $31 for the boxes. It is easy to see why their schedule is full. I will definitely wait to get Reliable for any future electrical needs. read more

Not enough great things can be said about Reliable Electric. I have worked with them on many projects ranging in size from as small as adding one outlet to building out entire clinics. Yikes! A $153 bill for 40 minutes of work. Was quoted $90 an hour, but they didn't tell me there's a $115 minimum charge. If I had known that I would have kept the electrician busy with other projects to get my $115 worth. And they charge for transportation time, which they said all companies do, but I've never paid anybody (locksmiths, plumbers, contractors) for transportation time. Moreover, Mapquest says they're 12 minutes from my house, but they charged me for 50 minutes of transportation time. And to top it off, the humidity sensor they installed doesn't even work. I don't blame them for that, but they took my old part with them without asking so I had to buy the part again. This turned out to be really expensive for nothing. You better believe I'll be working with a different company to get my new (old) part reinstalled. read more

We needed our main panel switched out, and decided to add in several other smaller jobs while we were at it. We sought three bids. All companies received my explanatory email on the same Saturday. One company had done other work for us recently, so didn't need to come on-site to do a bid; one came on Monday. Reliable came on Wednesday. I had Reliable's bid on Friday. After two weeks of emails and calls, I finally got a (much higher) bid from the second company. The first company gave me two weeks of calls with excuses and apologies, but no bid, ever. We decided to go with Reliable. The crew showed up right on time. The lead electrician, Jeremy, was the consummate professional, doing his work to replace the panel quickly and precisely while giving clear explanations of what he was doing as I asked. (I love learning about how things work.) Micah and Ryan took care of the other jobs. All were polite and friendly and took care to cause as little disturbance as possible, and to clean up after their work. After a few days, i decided i didn't like the style of LED dimmer switches they had installed, and Brennan swung by that day with others. They weren't what I had in mind, either; I showed him one we had in one of the bedrooms that we do like, and he went out and found some. (They are apparently no longer being made; he may have picked up about the last ones in town.) He got those installed within minutes and was on his way. We've been doing many projects this summer, and dealing with Reliable was absolutely The BEST. If only they could have done our insulation work, too ... read more

The heating units in my living room and dining room just stopped last night. It got very cold very fast. This morning I called several electrical companies in the are from a Google search and Reliable Electric was the ONLY one to call me back. AND they were able to send someone out this afternoon to find out what was wrong. Fortunately, it was a burned out thermostat which is a relatively minor issue. Tyson was great...he answered all my question about the issue at hand and a few other questions--electrical in nature--that I was curious about (i.e. converting to baseboard heat and putting in new outlets). He was patient, friendly, knowledgeable. I stayed loyal to those who come to my rescue (and Reliable had done just that) and I plan to not only use them for future electrical work but also refer them to my friends and anyone who asks. 5 stars doesn't completely represent how impressed I am with the service that both Gary and Tyson provided today. And I'm warm tonight for it. read more

While they are timely, get ready to pay a fortune for the service, which may or may not work.
