I believe most of the staff names have moved on. I met Ms. Fancy today and learned 30 minutes =$50.00. 1 hour =$70.00. Thirty minutes is a tease and I want a full 90 minute experience for $120.00. This won't include tip of course. Walking up the metal steps made a distinct sound which let's the massage therapist know someone is coming up the stairs. The cameras pointed at me most likely told them too. Ms. Fancy greeted me warmly and gave off a pleasant vibe. Although I did not get a massage today, I will try them out the next time I am in Sterling Virginia. I did see one other lady walk out of a room and I saw the client who looked surprised to see me looking in his direction. The other lady had a smile on her face and gave ove a pleasant vibe as well. There is plenty of seating space if you have to wait. I failed to get decent photo of the inside as it looks today, but I will get two photos right now. I did not see any business cards nor did I see a price menu for services offered. I do not know if body scrubs are still...okay, they do not. Just table shampoo. The language barrier is tough to get around , but doable. Finally, Upon speaking with Ms. Fancy, It sounded like the name of the business had changed. As others have stated this is a not a day spa. But, this can be a pleasant, inexpensive place to get a nice foot massage. I have driven past their neon lights a number of times and finally decided to go in. I didn't make an apt but just went in, after a bit of confusion and waiting, they said they wouldn't be able to see for me an hour, so I left. The next day I called ahead and made an apt. The foot massage area is just as pictured with dim lighting, nice music and lots of water features. I didn't ask them to turn on the tv, but they did offer. They were very friendly and I sat down for the 30 minute foot massage. The massage was very nice, it seemed like 45 minutes of foot massage, 10 minutes of back massage and 5 minutes of sitting around (you matheletes will notice that totals an hour - another reason for the mediocre score, since I had only planned to be there 30 minutes). They also gave me a stone massage for my calves and feet, which was a surprise. My feet feel great today so that's the true indicator. I will go back again now that I have better idea of what to expect and the need for an appointment. read more

When you talk about massage establishments, you first have to identify whether you're talking about established therapy spas with licensed therapists or whether you're talking about those Asian hole in the wall establishments that are a fraction of the cost of the more glamorous spas. Both have their pros and cons and depending on level of massage experience, either one might be the right one for you. Typically, the established therapy spas cost more but have licensed therapists who can diagnose your tight knots simply by touch and apply the right level of pressure to knead those knots away. The Asian establishments, by contrast, typically cost less (as much as half price or less sometimes) and often lack many of the frills and luxuries of the nicer spas. Relaxation Studio falls into the category of one of the Asian spas, but it differs from most of the usual ones in that it is very up scale and classy. I've been a massage enthusiast for the better part of 10 years and I've been to Asian massage centers where the only thing separating you from the person in the next "room" was a thin sheet curtain. At Relaxation Studio, you have your own room with 4 walls, you just lack a ceiling. So you can overhear things going on in other rooms sometimes particularly if the therapists ask each other questions audibly. You can also hear the front desk speaking to customers and answering the phone. But if you can get past this one little caveat, RS is perhaps the most luxurious Asian massage parlor you'll ever attend. I opted for a 60 minute body massage followed by a 30 minute foot massage. The body massage was great. My female therapist gave me a good relaxing rubdown as the spa's name advertises. She didn't focus on any tight knot areas with any added deep pressure to pinpoint those trouble areas, but she did rub harder on overall areas that were tighter (like my shoulders). She was friendly and did a great job of giving me a relaxing massage. After the rubdown, the highlight of the body massage had to be the sponge/towel bath she gave me to wash away the oils while continuing to rub me relaxingly. It was both invigorating and comforting. After the body massage, I got dressed and headed out to the spa's front room where foot massages occur. The therapist doing my feet gave me the remote to the tv in the room to watch whatever I wanted, but I declined, simply content to lay back and relax as he gave me a reflexology rubbing on the soles of my feet and on my calves and shins. As someone who never gets pedicures and plays a lot of soccer, my feet are rather calloused so I was glad when he offered to fix them for me before the massage for only $5. 10 minutes later after applying some kind of gel to my feet and scrubbing them down with a file of some sorts, I was callous free and he began the great reflexology massage. At the end of it all, I felt more relaxed than I've been in a long time and at a fraction of the cost of typical spas. RS even has a frequent customer club card in which every 5 massages you get, you earn one for 50% off. I for one definitely know I'll be back enough times to make use of this card as this has become my new favorite massage location for relaxation and stress relief. If you've got a particular knot location that needs deep work to relieve, than perhaps RS isn't the place for you. But if you simply need a relaxing body rub or foot rub after a stressful day or week, then I recommend you try RS. read more

I had a 60 min foot massage last week and my feet still feel good. The other nice thing about this place, is that they don't gauge you with crazy high prices. They're smart. This was not a typical spa experience for me-no forms to fill out and open ceiling rooms. Surprisingly though, it was very quiet and relaxing, not much noise outside other than the lovely meditative music. This was by far one of the best massages I've received. Great pressure. I really wanted to like this place and I left pretty disappointed. THE SHORT: The 60 minute foot massage was more like 15 minute of waiting, 30 mins of actually rubbing my feet, 6 minutes of warm stone rubbing, and the rest a "free" back massage. This was just a bummer. My feet feel no different than before I came in. I probably won't go back. I'd rather pay a little more and get something out of it. THE LONG: I walked in around 11:45am. I was sat right away in the foot massage area. There were 2 employees present, a man and a lady. No customers were there, so I assumed that would mean I would get more attentive service. The lady brought a wood basin filled with warm water and tea bags. The lady was very friendly, asking if I would like some coffee or Chinese tea. At first I said no, but on her insistence I decided some Chinese tea didn't sound so bad. The tea never made an appearance. I guess she forgot. I didn't realize it then, but the second you are sat, your massage time starts. The man there kept coming back and forth asking me about my phone number. I guess there was some confusion on whether on not I had been there before? I told them this was my first time coming there, but he seemed like he didn't really believe me. Again, no one else was in the place so I was a little surprised that it took 15+ mins to get my foot massage started. I didn't realize that this actually counts towards your massage time, which I think is ridiculous. The guy did my massage, which I thought would be great because he would be more likely to apply real pressure, right? Wrong. He wasn't awful, it just was more a glorified foot rub than an actual massage. The foot rub was over by 12:30pm, then he rubbed my legs/feet with a warm stone for a couple mins (like 3 mins per leg). Then wiped my feet/legs of with a hot wet towel. So if you're counting, the 60 minute foot massage is actually a 30 minute foot rub. He did a quick back/leg/arm massage and was done exactly at 12:45pm. He didn't even go a little longer to make up for all the times he would leave (without saying anything) to answer the phone or get supplies. read more

Coming from California we are spoiled since we are littered with feet message place just about every block. I have yet to experience anywhere that can provide the same type of service I did tonight. Based on other positive reviews I decided to try Relaxation Studio for a foot massage. I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and wanted to try reflexology. I was not disappointed. The treatment started out with a warm foot soak, followed by a foot massage. I asked for more pressure and the therapist worked really hard to make sure I was happy. It was a bit painful, but I know from physical therapy it would help. After the foot massage, a hot stone massage followed. It was a great way to relax. I was thrilled when the stone massage finished I got a nice back massage. Outstanding experience, fantastic price and highly recommended. I will be back! read more

Based on other reviews I figured I'd give this place a try. I wanted to reward myself for a month of hard workouts with a massage. I got a 30 min back massage and 30 min reflexology massage. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Reflexology foot massage was great. I'll definitely come back for that. One thing struck me as odd was the body massage consisted of just the back and the back of the legs. No arms, no front thighs, minimal neck/scalp/shoulders. The parts she did massage were great. This is the first foot massage place I've ever been to so I'll include some of the details I would have liked to have known that I didnt find in any of the reviews. I walked there from my hotel on a monday afternoon. I walked in and the girl spoke to me in chinese. They do know minimal english. I didn't need an appointment and I was attended to right away. They charge a dollar a minute (something I couldn't get off their very bad website or any of the reviews). I filled out a simple form mostly visually circling where they should concentrate on or avoid. There was no wait. She told me to go to a room and disrobe facedown on a cradle with nothing covering me but a medium sized/smallish towel. Soon after the massage began. I was surprised the massage was not with the girl who did my intake but a male masseuse whom I didnt meet beforehand and he didn't really introduce himself when he came in. I got an hour body massage and a 30 min foot massage. He did the body massage first and continued with the foot massage with me all in the same room. The style of the massage is very chinese and at one point turned into a hot stone massage and at the end involved some warm towels. It was overall very good so I didn't mind. The young asian dude doing my massage had very strong hands but was very aloof, almost clinical. He left the room several times at some length to get the hotstones or the towels without saying anything. the guy turned out to be very cute which made up for all his shortcomings in my mind =P You can also hear other people because the ceiling is open. Some of the noises were distracting. I then paid and left my tip via credit card and he gave me some water and a stamping card indicating that if you get 5 massages there then you can get one 50% off. The massage lifted my spirits. I am still feeling the positive effects of it a day later. I had a very good night sleep because of it and my muscles feel sore but good and my usual back pain and neck pain is strongly alleviated and I feel very relaxed. I only had a foot massage once before over a decade ago. I highly recommend it as an add on as it is very relaxing. They are open late and take walkins so I will be back and will take hubby with me next time. read more

This place is ridiculous! I got a birthday gift card from this place for my boyfriend's birthday in 2019 April. They wrote on the gift certificate it will be expired one month after it is purchased. When I asked them they told me not to worry about it, he can use it anytime, he just needs to call them one day before for an appointment. I told my boyfriend there is no expiration date so he can use it anytime. He just got busy and we had no change to use it until today. We decided to make an appointment for today and I was planning to buy an extra massage from them for myself so we can get massage at the same time. After a long wait, they were trying to find out in their language, we were told that the gift certificate is expired and why did not use it, if we forgot to use it. I tried to explain them what I was told but they did not get it. We were trying to relax little bit, that was all we wanted to do today, but they got on our nerves. We told them it is ok and we are leaving. They told us if we pay extra $100. It will be a special for us and we can get massage. We said it is ok, we are leaving. Then the owner or whoever he is run after us and he told us everything is free because he could not make us believe and get more money from us! We just said thank u and left!!! For a company named Relaxation Studio, they don't really emphasize the 'relax' part. Don't get me wrong - the massage was thoroughly competent. But the walls of the rooms are only 8' high - you can even see it in the pictures on their website - so both sunlight and noise flooded the room. It didn't help that the masseuse left the door partially open the whole time. So while I'm trying to relax and enjoy my massage it was both brightly lit in there and I had to listen to two old ladies talk about their thyroids and practice their pidgin Chinese. When i walked inside i immediately felt more comfortable. My mother and i both went for a 60 minute full body massage.
