I have been wanting to go to this store for few years now. I finally made it on the 3rd of this month and walked in 4:50pm. Rich, was super kind, nice, professional, helpful, and had a pleasant smile. He asked me what was it that I needed and looking for? I explained to him that I have been having a neck and back pain for a while now. Needed a soft cushion, that I can take around and use it in the car, at home or anywhere else. I also needed a nice, firm mattress. My mattress is almost 10 years old and wanted to get both the mattress, and ergonomics supplies to cure my back/neck. They have very high end, good quality, nice fabric mattresses that is very over priced. They have recliner chairs, home and office products to help and improve sleep and just give you a pain free indulgence. Rich showed me few things that were NOT on sale and let me lay and sit on them. He brought out few items for me to try. 1st item was:Saco Ease (for car), 2nd was a Tempur-Pedic Luxe adapt Firm mattress for my bed. Last, but not least, he showed me ergonomic Curve Cushions Lumbar for my back/neck support. Everything was very nice and comfortable. When it came to discuss their payment options, that's when I told him, sorry but the things that you offer is very comfortable but WAY out of my BUDGET!! He didn't take it personally and wished me luck. Parking is shared with 100 businesses and the store was very clean, nicely organized according to their items that they had in store.. I went on September 1st to the Studio City store. Although I tried and found a good pillow, there was no stock. So the manager tells me to call first before I go there to see if the pillow came in. I gave it more time and then called. Now he tells me about another week! I bought an X-Chair about 5 years ago from Relax the Back in Studio City & it's been a heaven sent for comfort & movability. I had a issue with one of the pieces wearing down from usage on the chair & needed to have it checked out, I brought it in & met Mr. Ron ERB ( Store Manager) & without asking about receipts or warranties he quickly took it upon himself to make all the proper adjustments necessary on my chair that were needed & explained patiently what I didn't do when I got it. Ron went above & beyond on what Customer Service should be but rarely exist after the sale. He's made me a customer for life & I'll be returning for future purchases with him & cannot with words complement his care & regard for me & my X-Chair. This is more a review for Store Manager Tanya C. than for the store itself (though they do have a good variety of items and it was fun to browse and use some of the massage equipment!). Tanya was awesome. So professional, patient, and kind... she clearly cares about her work and is very educated about the products she sells as well as knowledgable about the spine. I went in to find a new pillow to replace a pillow I had bought at a big box store that no longer carries the pillow I like and have changed their store so drastically, I doubt I will ever go back. Miss Tanya was very knowledgeable, informed, professional and understood exactly what I was looking for. When I effed up my back something awful last Summer after a bending over to pick up a shirt accident (grr), this store became my knight in shining armchair. I never knew what a HUUUGE difference a good chair could make on your back, until i hobbled in here in the hopes of finding an answer. Not only did they set me up with a fantastic chair, but they also showed me a back pillow for my car that has made all the difference in the world to the ol' spine. I came to Relax The Back as a last resort, before having to sell my Prius. I love my car and the great gas mileage but the uncomfortable drivers seat is making my scoliosis pain worse. Tanya, their extremely knowledgeable, patient and lovely manager helped me pick the perfect seat cushion for my car. With a 30 day money back policy, I figured I would try it. Its been a couple weeks now, and my back has noticeably improved. I also explained to her the pain I experience due to my pillow. She is very skilled with knowing what pillow would and wouldn't work. I've been passing this store for couple years now on my way to work and wanted to check it out. Today I decided to visit it since my my wedding anniversary is in few weeks. I found the best gift for my other half. Jeffrey Henderson is the man here. He walked me through the store patently even though I was asking him millions of questions. He suggested a chair called "a perfect chair P.C. 610" this baby is the most comfortable, relaxing, fun chair that I've ever set on. My back felt like I am in haven. In fact I didn't want to get off. Jefferey let me kick back on the chair for as long as I liked because he noticed how how comfortable it made me feel. I have a little back problem but this baby made me forget all about it. Bravo!!! Although it was approaching closing time we were still greeted by a friendly smile - Tanya Crutchfield (who ended up being the manager). Tanya was responsive, charming, and extremely knowledgeable about the products. She was super honest and helped us pivot our decision to get the massage chair my husband always wanted - Human Touch, Super NOVO. Throughout the process (and keep in mind it was late), Tanya did not push or make us feel pressured..she provided the information and let us make the decision that was best for us. Two years ago, my husband and I went to Relax the Back to look into buying a Tempur-Pedic​ mattress. A friend had referred us to the store, and we couldn't be happier with the service provided by Tanya. She had us lie down on many different mattressses, insisting (in a very friendly manner) that we give each one a full 10 minutes to see how the mattress adapts to our body. She was juggling several customers in the store, but would always check in with us and went the extra mile to answer all of our questions. She was forthright and honest, and I felt she was sincerely​ interested in helping us find what was best for our needs. After spending over an hour in the store, we found the mattress we wanted, she took down all of our information, gave us the price and when we said we wanted to think about it, she did not pressure us or seem disappointed that we didn't buy. Despite the fact that we eventually decided we weren't ready to spend so much money on a mattress, Tanya's knowledge of the product combined with her fantastic service made a lasting impact on me. Fast forward to two years later (now), and I'm ready to buy the Tempur-Pedic​ mattress. Remembering the good experience at Relax the Back, I called them first and Tanya happened to answer the phone. I was thrilled that she had our information in the computer and knew exactly what mattress we had chosen two years before. She mentioned that it was now a different, improved version, and suggested I come into the store and re-try mattresses. This time I did buy the Tempur-pedic LuxeAdapt California king-sized​ mattress, which Tanya went out of her way to help me make a surprise for my husband. She was able to rush the delivery and have it arrive at a specific time of the day so that I could set it up before my husband got home from work. And she was very clear about all the "fine print" with regards to the return policy, so I knew exactly what I was getting into. Tanya goes out of her way to make each customer feel special. She goes the extra length to answer particular questions... and if she doesn't know the answer, she says so, then finds out and calls you back. In this day and age, where​ customer service barely exists​, it was a pleasure to experience someone who still cares about good service, especially when one is making such a big investment. Just terrible. They should be ashamed. Relax the Back is a franchise operation, and this review does not apply to the parent company, which sells many useful ergonomic products. this review applies solely to the Studio City and Pasadena franchises, plus any other locations now owned by a woman named Pam. I spent $2000 on a desk chair there (I know, I'm not proud of it, but when your livelihood depends on you sitting in a chair all day and you have a bad back, its actually a good investment in your productivity). It replaced a nearly identical chair I bought 8 years earlier at the same store. Over those eight years, when the chair needed service for a ripped armrest or something, this store was wonderful. Parts were ordered immediately, shipped promptly, and repairs facilitated with grace and enthusiasm. Not so any more. my new chair arrived defective, which i pointed out to the delivery guy/engineer, who promptly reported it to the store and assured me the offending part would be immediately ordered and replaced. Further, his delivery did not include a footrest I was promised to sweeten the deal at purchase, and again, rapid delivery was immediately promised. That was nearly 5 months ago. I have had over a dozen calls with PAm, the owner, who keeps making promises to correct things that she clearly has no intention or desire to do. The foot rest finally arrived after 10 weeks, and I'm still sitting in a defective $2000 chair that twists my back in knots. Ironic for a store that sells back health, eh? I don't know how long this woman has owned or run these locations, but this is among the worst service I have ever gotten on a purchase this size. Stay away from these locations. At all costs. Find a RTB store owned and operated by a different franchisee and save yourself a great big pain in the neck. read more

After visiting 3 different Relax the Backs in the LA area, we found this one to be the best experience. The sales staff here were the friendliest and most helpful in our search for a new ergonomic office chair. The internet has kind of destroyed shopping for ergonomic chairs these days so it is pleasant to find stores that actually carry what you are looking for in store for you to actually sit in. While the store only carried Humanscale and Lifeform chairs, they had several models and makes from their line. Our sales lady explained to use the different manufacturers "design philosophy" along with what each chair did well. Overall we had a great experience and learned a lot. read more

I felt very accommodated my entire visit and was not pressured at all to make a purchase unlike other mattress stores in the area. This store also has a great selection of office chairs as well. I never even imagined how they could be designed so comfortable. When visiting and especially in the market for a new home or office chair, try the caramel one with the split seat in the back row. All my lower back pain or discomfort immediately subsided and it was pure bliss. Tanya is off on Mondays and Tuesdays. She'll let you know her hours to make sure you're taken great care of.
