She showed me several options and took the time to adjust each chair in the same way so I could compare them fairly and figure out which one suited me best. Trying the chairs in person made a huge difference. Choosing a chair is a lot like choosing a fragrance: descriptions can only go so far, and you really need to experience it yourself to know what feels right. Herman Miller ergonomic chair has been selling like hot cake during Covid pandemic. The typical wait time for placing an order to receiving the chair is already infamous 2-month so I would not mention further. This concept store is actually a huge surprise as I pass by, the store looks nicely put together, utilizing all Herman Miller products. As far as sales go, after months searching for two chairs to fit at home for remote office, I've found that best deals does not often come from the company website, but any large distributor where Herman Miller sell them. Oddly enough, I was able to fully customize a chair, to a color not offer on the official website. Later, thru Herman Miller customer support, I found that warranty thru 3rd party is not covered directly by Herman Miller but thru the 3rd party. At the store, I supposed all is covered thru Herman Miller. So be aware if you seek to buy elsewhere! I really liked the two chairs I bought, Embody and Sayl, the look of the designs, sturdiness and adjustibility. Note the adjustibillity need to be upgraded in Sayl, but mostly came with Embody base price, which makes the two prices fairly similar after customization. Alternatively, if you have an office needing 6 chairs and don't need adjustibility, you could get Sayl for under $500 a piece vs. ~$800 or even ~$1800. Lastly, the boxes that ship Herman Miller product amused me. There's not a single stapler, all materials are cardboard, i.e recycleable (perhaps except a handful palm size pieces of foam in one case). I was able to fit both boxes into a small container after 10 minutes of workout. read more

I was going to give this location a 1 star but since we love our Herman Miller experience so far, I'd give it a 3. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE order online to save you some trouble. We ordered with a part time sales rep when we were visiting the showroom and decided to get a HM Embody. The rep told us the order was placed successfully and the promotion code was successfully applied but it came out to be the order wasn't even processed after 3-4 days. We called the store and only was told by the manager that he does not know what's happenning to the order and the part time sales rep is not here because of school... He said he will call us back on the same day but he never called. We had to call back next day to have someone cancel the order for us so we can just place a new order directly from their website. The chair got shipped in 3 days after we placed the new order and arrived with no problem. Just use this store as a try out and order your chair online to save you some trouble. read more

I gave in and bought a Herman Miller chair. I've been into ergonomic chairs lately, and Will was the person helping us when we were shopping. But I'm sorry there was another person there, I completely forgot their name. I ended up purchasing an Embody Gaming Chair. But the experience going into the store was quite magical. I like they layout it's very clean and minimalistic. When I came into the store, I told the employees that I was recommended a HM chair. So obviously I'm aware of the Aeron and Embody chairs. Literally, we got to sit around and test all the chairs. So that gave me enough time more than enough time to select a chair. I'm not that refined or have bodily aches that could distinguish one chair from the other. But I do think that the Embody works what I need, able to use it for working remotely or gaming. Now that my job has gone fully work from home, I realized I need to upgrade my office chair to something more ergonomic. After recommendations from others, I stopped by the Herman Miller concept store before committing to such a high price tag. I'm very glad I did. I'd already spent some time on the website checking out the options and add-ons, and Fabien helped advise me on the correct size and gave me genuine advice without pushing me towards the more expensive options. It ended up being several hundred dollars cheaper than if I'd ordered through the site, and I was all set up within ten minutes. I'll update this review once the order arrives. I was told that the chair will arrive fully assembled, but that they don't have a contract with FedEx to guarantee that the driver will be willing to bring it upstairs. So note that if you live in an apartment without an elevator, you may need a friend to help get it inside unless you have a super chill delivery driver who is willing to go the extra mile (and if they do, consider tipping them with a cold beverage and a snack). read more

Herman Miller has always been my favorite! We are planning on buying two lounge chairs so we visited the store in the Century Mall. A lady by the name of Kim assisted us. What a service! She was very courteous, helpful answered all our questions helped us get more information and offered special pricing when we are ready! She gave us few samples of the leathers and wood to take home! The manager Robert is completely incompetent and a liar. Called nearly 6 months ago regarding a new embody chair because I wanted to see if I could purchase it in store, he then tells me that they don't carry inventory in their stores since its more of a "showroom". That's fine, so I told him I was going to place an order online instead and you can hear his voice change frantically telling me "no.. you can place an order with us.. since we are herman miller and I get no sales bonus, etc etc." Fast forwarding a couple weeks and months later, he sold me the Logitech gaming edition instead of the normal Embody chair. He was supposed to help process a replacement but instead has been ghosting me and slow in the process. Nearly half a year later I still don't have the correct chair I wanted to purchase. I should've bought it online but I was like what's the harm in helping a guy get a sale? What a greedy crook. read more

My wife and I have been going back and forth on getting HM chairs, mostly due to the cost. However, during the winter season of 2023, we finally committed to buying a pair. I will say that upon receiving our chairs, the wheels weren't rolling well (more like dragging and leaving skid marks); but Paola, one of the sales associate, was quite helpful by offering to replace the wheels under our warranty. I do see some negative reviews on here, but I'd say that our purchase experience was very favorable considering the patience and professionalism exhibited by the staff. I have horrible back issues, so Paola actually let me sit on one of the chairs for over 30 minutes to fully test the chair out. My personal recommendation is don't purchase a model that everyone else is going for. Select the one that fits your body best. read more

Inept customer service. I emailed them to change the shipping for my chairs that were 2 months out from my purchase date and they emailed back complaining??!! Their staff needs help. They also charged my credit card for the same item 2x. I called and the lady insisted I was blind and couldn't read my bank statements. I'm a huge fan of Herman miller so I was excited to see they have a store in Century City, but it seems like (along with other reviews) that they need to work on their customer service. I was stared at by a couple people when walking in which felt weird, but besides that, when I inquired about the differences between the chairs, the lady who was on her computer didn't even look at me and dismissed me with a one-line answer. I walked in and got white-glove service from two very courteous sales ladies. I knew what I wanted but one of the sales ladies guided me to a chair which is even better than the one I originally had in mind. It is highly unusual when ordering a product from such a reputable company as Herman Miller to end up with a strong reason to file a complaint. We visited your store in Century City on Saturday March 25th and ordered two Aeron chairs one medium and one large. At the time of placing the order we were told that both chairs will be send to us no later than on 2nd or 3rd of April. So you can imagine our surprise when early Monday we received an email from your company directly informed us that delivery of the C size chair will happen only at the end of April - beginning of May - a month later than the date we were given!! It is our view that the sales person (Kim Crain) saw the delivery date when placing the order. It is deceptive for sale management to lure customer to place the order. But that is not the end of the story. The cloud of deception continued as we tried to follow up with the sale manager Robert Kaplan (Century City Mall showroom, where we placed the order) to understand why there was a discrepancy. When I finally reached to him, he said that this a normal situation - that a sales person is not aware of the correct date when the order is placed and he always calls customers with updates of real delivery date. This Sale Manager is obviously not aware that a correct delivery date is freely available at your online system - please see the attached image for my chair configuration. I went on your website and just now configured the chair myself - It is clearly stated there that the chair will be "Available to ship in: 4 weeks". Why would a sale manager call customers with a correct date, if each of the customers gets an email from headquarters with the actual shipment date. Probably this Sale Manager is not aware of this either and in any event, we did not get any calls with a correct date. I asked if he can tell us the reasons for the delay and help us to expedite the delivery - he said that company produces thousands of chairs and it cannot deal with ONE CHAIR order. Well looks like we the customer with ONE CHAIR order is not important. At the end he told me that I can cancel the order .. Seems to us that the answer to what happened to us we found in the review posted here , almost a year ago on Yelp (https://www.yelp.com/biz/herman-miller-los-angeles-3?osq=Herman+Miller) - related to this manager: "6/14/2022 The manager Robert is completely incompetent and a liar.......". The short haired taller woman with graying hair and glasses is extremely rude. As soon as we entered I saw a chair that I had looked at online and was seriously considering... while I was in the process of sitting down she abruptly turned around and said "excuse me but we are at capacity and you need to go outside." James approached me right as I entered the store and was able to catch me up with the history of the company. James was kind and took his time showing me the chairs and their features.
